MrTARDIS - February 2021 Update

Hello viewers!

I hope you're all doing well during these crazy times. January was possibly the longest year of everyone's lives but I'm grateful that you're all here reading this and we can get through 2021 together!

I thought it might be worth doing one of these update posts every month (public to both Patrons and non-Patrons) just to let you folks know what content and work is being done on my channels and what you have to look forward to over the next few weeks!

Firstly, at time of writing this, my brand new laptop is currently out for delivery and I look forward to opening that up and setting everything up on it. Thank you to the Patrons on the MrTARDIS Discord Server for helping me pick it out and for the tech advice. Whether or not this will help with workflow remains to be seen, but my current laptop has served me for around 7-8 years and was falling apart. It got to the stage where it was no longer a viable, or remotely ideal device to continue working on which prompted the overdue upgrade.

Anyway, the content you can expect over the next month. Dates subject to change.

February 1st - Monster Monday: Episode 32 - 'Raw'
February 5th - 'Revolution of the Daleks' Viewing Figures Breakdown
February 8th - Monster Monday: Episode 33
February 12th - Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary Steelbook Unboxing
February 15th - Monster Monday: Episode 34
February 19th - Doctor Who: Series 12 Ranked Worst to Best
February 22nd - Monster Monday: Episode 35
February 26th - Doctor Who: Dalek Stories Ranked Worst to Best

So, that's my February outline. The reason for the wait for the 'Revolution of the Daleks' viewing figures video is because I've been waiting for the BARB to post its 28-day figures. The Series 12 Ranking video is already written, it's just a case of recording it and getting it edited on the new laptop. I would have scheduled it for the week prior but thought it best to be more topical with the 50th Anniversary Steelbook and that also gives me an extra week of editing the video should it need the additional time. Also, if the video does get done earlier than scheduled, it just means earlier access for Patrons. So win-win.

The Dalek ranking video is basically an addendum to 2019's DalekCember which will be a long edit but a relatively straightforward writing process. Where will 'Revolution of the Daleks' land on the rankings? I look forward to figuring that out myself...

Monster Monday is obviously continuing with 'Raw' being the last movie on our selection wheel. Myself and Yaz are drafting up a brand new wheel that should take us through the next few months as we speak! With the 'Raw' episode, we'll be doing a format change and we'd hugely appreciate your feedback on whether or not you prefer Monster Monday to take that approach going forward!

As for other projects going on in the background, I'm currently writing the first draft of my next potential 'Doctor Who' audio story to follow up from last year's 'Doctor Who: The Collateral of Ivanhoe. I managed to power through 15 pages in a morning but since then haven't been able to pick it back up. However, I am also writing notes and a mini-diary documenting the writing process. Not just for fun behind-the-scenes content should the project get made but it also helps me to compartmentalise my thoughts on the process and any issues or difficulties I'm having so I can fix them or be aware of them moving forward with future drafts. I won't elaborate further as it's still a hypothetical project right now. I'm gonna have to wait a few more months to see if it's something I want to actually kick into production or not.
