Chapter 8



Title: Reaching For The Stars...

James just looks at his uncle with a certain glint in his eyes. He knows what he can do and how he should do it in the best way possible. 


Falcone in the end decided to ask James. "So what is your next plan then, I hear that your main business is real estate. If you need some founding… know we are family."


Falcone has a smile on his face as he says that. By saying that he pretty much just told James that if he needs some funding he can ask his uncle for some money.


James smiles at him and his back is straight. He doesn't have any hesitation as he answers to his uncle with a simple. "No need for that uncle."

Falcone smiles at that, he can see that James is a smart man. Falcone assumes that James is also too proud to ask for money. But he doesn't push his nephew, he knows that one day he will ask his uncle for money. Pride can also put someone higher in the food chain of Gotham… after all in the city of sin… having a distinct sin is definitely good.

As they eat Falcone's daughter Sofia decides to ask James something. "So, what is your role in the family business?"


James suddenly stops eating and looks at his cousin. He smirks a little and looks at Sofia like he is looking at a doll. "Well… I have my own thing going on. So you could say that I have no connections with the family. When I said that I only had five hundred dollars when I left Chicago, it was the truth. I literally only had that. Hahahaha…"


What James of course didn't say was that he had a whole run-down apartment building to his name. The building was probably worth around 500,000 dollars, so technically he had a Net Worth of 500,000 even back then. But now he is technically a millionaire based in his Net Worth, especially with his Veela business company. He plans to start hiring some more people soon.


Sofia seems confused at what James means by that but her father, Falcone, just smiles at James.  His nephew just ridiculed his children and none of them understood what they did. Seeing James and how he acts and his intelligence, he can't help but contemplate letting his children out in the world. Each of them is over twenty, especially Mario who will be the next head of the Falcone family, he needs to understand that muscle is not everything.

The dinner goes on for almost two hours and only James and Falcone really have any real conversations. Any time his children try to talk they are quickly put down by James without them even noticing. 


This was James pretty much telling Falcone that only he is the one who is worth talking to and that his cousins are nothing special and are pretty much nothing when compared to him. 


After that James decides to leave and thanks his new family for the pleasant dinner and he walks outside. Falcone ideas a cigar and looks at James straight back as the young man walks away.


He then looks at his children… and for the dozenth time today, he again found them all lacking.


As he sees his nephew walking away, he wonders what he is thinking.

And that is how you dominate some dumb rich kids. Even Sofia, who should be some type of good manipulator is nothing special. She is used to manipulating people who were under her, when meeting someone better than her she is just like a small kitten.


Mario is all brawn and no brain, and the other kid… his name Albert, he was as beta as someone can go. Unsure of his own decision, and feels more secure when someone makes decisions for him. Embarrassing honestly, he would be perfect as a puppet…

A dark smile appears on my face…

When I arrive at the bottom, I take back my gun from the guard and then I go to my hummer and drive away.


This visit was truly insightful, I also learned that Falcone, while street smart is not that intelligent. I guess that is as much as one can expect from someone who flaunts being a criminal, thinking himself invincible just because he has control over Gotham. He is what someone calls a frog at the bottom of the well, only seeing the sky from the bottom of the well so it never knew that… the sky is endless…

He is nothing but a speck of dust in comparison to true giants like Darkseid or something like that.

One month passed since James visited Falcone.  During that time the Veela Company made some definite… forceful expansions. 

The company thrived after patenting the one-click shop button. This allowed the company to truly thrive, also as James bribed some news channels to promote his website.

That is when 13% of the company was made public. Meaning that the public can buy stocks in the company. 

In the first month out of the 13%.... 8.3% is bought out. This means that around 2,560,000/4,000,000 public stocks were sold. One stock is around 400 dollars due to the media inflating the value of the Veela Company. A company that now sells books and now music online. It already has a disclosed deal with the post office so it can deliver books all over America. 

Now James has just a little over one billion, of disposable income. 

And so now he currently has his own building just right next to the Wayne Tower. This is his James got his founding to build countless labs and employ thousands of people all over Gotham. It is now called the Veela Tower with a big V as its figurehead atop the building.


This giant leap of his brought a lot of eyes on James, he leaped over a lot of roadblocks and he was the youngest self-made billionaire. He had made a giant leap and too fast, the other giant companies didn't even have time to react on this. Anyone who even tries to compete with him will be sued to bankruptcy. 

Now he has a net worth of over ten billion, becoming one of the richest men in the world in only four months since his rebirth. Usually, a person has to go through a lot of trial and error before he can become rich, especially with a generally new thing like the internet. 


But James doesn't have that experimental need. He KNOWS what works and doesn't, especially with his future knowledge and how the internet works. He knows how everything would go and he has 100% certainty that that will work. He has knowledge, plans, strategies, and tricks that people in the future of his world used. He plans to use every single one of them to achieve a monstrous economical power and after that, he will make that power into physical power by having the best scientists working for him.


But of course, that is all for the future as James looks at the intern file in front of him. A strange frown adorns his face, as he looks at the file. He likes to be in control of everything as the CEO of Veela.

'I have burned through 700,000,000 in one month. But the laboratories and other sure income things have been purchased and built. My growth is too spontaneous. I haven't given any official interview yet to the press and I plan to do that soon… but… this person...' James frowns even deeper at the file in front of him. 


"Pamela Lillian Isley." Read James out loud. The name rolling off his tongue easily. 'This could either end really good… or really BAD.'

Yes… we all know who I am talking about.
Also, I did a lot of research on a lot of rich people's lives and get a better understanding from a business side point and even how someone can get a patent on something.😏

Also, the MC will start developing on his own as soon as he starts becoming even richer. Also, he will keep spending money like crazy too, he doesn't exactly care for money. We see that the system can't control the MC's actions at all. He does whatever he wants and how he wants it.
