Chapter 24


Title: End Of The Year Exam...

After that delightful conversation with Amelia Bones, she seems like in the future she will be quite something. It takes quite a lot for her to be able to change from a shy little girl to such a strong woman in the future. Now what interested me most was her ability to duel even Voldemort for some time, I remember reading this in my past life. It means that she will be quite a strong witch. Talented and with a lot of political power, definitely someone I should keep an eye on her. 


Anyway, I will have to keep an eye on her, anyway I have the rest of the day free. S I should just go to the Room of Requirements.

I just go there, but I don’t even try to hide from anything except appearing on the Marauder's Map, and other faculty members. But the only one I am not hiding is from Dumbledore and the paintings that much, I know that as long as I stay at Hogwarts, he will be able to always keep an eye on me. Instead of trying to fight it I should use it to my advantage and have already created a memory about reading about the room in an old book. So if Dumbledore decides to look at my memories, then I can just show him that. 


As I enter the room, I see that there is a comfortable looking couch, a fireplace, and a view of the outside world, well it is more like a one-way mirror, I can see the outside but they can’t see me… or maybe more like a camera to the outside of the castle. Suddenly a moving wooden puppet with a wand in its hand appears, it can shoot only stinging hexes and at me, which are easily blockable. But today I plan to just learn how to dodge, my dueling abilities must get better and fast. I do plan to enter some dueling tournaments, after all, that would raise my fame.

Like this, many months pass and my friendship with Amelia grows, during this time I push her to be braver, she has come a little out of her shell now. Of course, our friendship has been a secret mostly and not a lot of people know that I even know of her existence. I know that if it became public Amelia would definitely be bullied by the other girls, I am not blind and can accurately say that almost all of the girls in my year have a crush on me. Even the usually cold Slytherins girls are like that.

But none of that matters, I don’t plan to date anyone during my years at Hogwarts. It’s like idols in my first life, or like twitch streamers, if the fans knew that after she finishes her acts in front of the camera then she will be getting nailed by her boyfriend and just imagining that would put off most fans… except the ones who are into the whole thing…



Anyway, I am currently in the Charm’s Classroom, this will be the first exam that we will have. If these exams are as easy as winning the Quidditch cup has been then this will be quite a walk in the park. Ravenclaw, just like it has been doing a lot lately, completely humiliated the Gryffindor team, sadly James Potter got the Snitch before we were able to end the game with over a thousand points for us. But we still got over 800 points and the Gryffindors could only wallow in shame just like all of the other teams. The Marauders also knew better than to try and prank me, I do know Lupin’s secret and of their animagus secret so they know better than to do something which might make me ‘accidentally’ spill the beans.



Also, the event of James humiliating Snape happened… sheesh talk about being a d*ck. Anyway, I enjoyed the show, and now Lily keeps talking about James quite a lot with other girls as he told snape to apologize for calling her a mudblood. Honestly, that was such a nice show they put on for me. It was like a real drama show. It also shows the disparity and how unfair the world is, people could say whatever they want but Lily simply chose James because he was more handsome than Snape and because the latter wasn’t rich too. Now that isn’t a golddigger, I too wouldn't want to date a girl with wrecked home life, I don’t want to carry on that heavy emotional baggage. I too would rather choose the rich, prettier girl who would offer me financial stability and safe life. It wasn’t Lily’s fault about how things ended and it wasn’t Jame’s either, children fighting and bullying each other is normal. 


“Good to see you all.” Says professor Flitwick as he enters the room, interrupting my thought process. I look at him as he walks along each of our desks casting counterspells to any cheating spells or looking if any student has drunk any memory-enhancing potion or something along those lines. As he walks along my table he greets me politely. “Good morning mister Lockhart, how have you been lately.”

He makes some casual conversation as he casts a different array of spells. 

“I have been doing pretty well, professor. Though I have been wondering if you have any free time after the exams. I would like to consult you about a book that I plan to write.”


“Hmm? Truly? I will help you to the best of my abilities mister Lockhart, but I could also tell professor Slughorn into the job too. He is quite acquainted with the book industry and can even help you find an editor or something like that.”

“I already talked with him on how the editorial and publishing process might go.”

He smiles a little when I say that. “As expected of one of my intelligent ravens. So then talking with me, you will most likely want to talk about the contents of your book then? Would that assumption be correct mister Lockhart?”


I nod at him. He smiles at that too. “I see, then today I am not free, but I will contact you tomorrow or during the free week before the results of the exams are shown.”

He finishes his spell check on me and goes to the next person. “How have you been miss Bones…”

After finishing that he gives us the written exam first, due to me using Occlumency I just give out perfect answers and within half an hour I finish a two-hour exam. As I get up and give the paper to professor Flitwick who is just sitting on his desk with a pineapple to his left. 

He doesn’t seem to be even surprised that I finished my exam so fast. He just takes my exam and gives it one glance and then settles it down he then just pints t the pineapple and says. “Make it dance, whether with a charm or even transfiguration or something like that.”


I notice that the other students are also paying attention to this, they were also curious about this. I smile at this and take out my wand and point at the pineapple. 

“{Tarantallegra}” As I say that, a purple light ball shoots out of my wand it hits the pineapple, and the top of the pineapple starts spasming like it was dancing band it starts dancing and it even does a couple of backflips.

Flitwick smiles at this and nods at me. “Perfectly executed mister Lockhart.”


I nod back and decide to show something more for some extra points. I twist my wand and silently cast the counter spell to the dancing pineapple. Flitwick’s smile widens at this. “Ten points to Ravenclaw mister Lockhart.”

But again I smirk and twist my wand again and this time a purple ball of light is shot out of my wand it hits the pineapple and it starts dancing again. Flitwick goes into full-blown laughter. “Hahahahaha… amazing mister Lockhart,l casting the Dancing Feet Jinx silently is something that not even most 7th Years can’t do, another twenty points to Ravenclaw.”




I just politely thank him and walk out of the classroom. I can do the Jinx wandlessly… but obviously, I didn’t want to show THAT much.

AUTHOR NOTE:
We can see that this MC is kind of a show-off, but at the same time, he keeps some things hidden from others. 
Also just Occulumency alone puts him way ahead of the pther students as he doesn't need to try and remember, because he has a crude and slower form of photographic memory. 😁👍
