Hiring Pamela could be a double-edged knife, but it isn't too bad. I can take care of her if need be. Her power isn't anything special yet, and she can't control plants yet. Of course, her most dangerous factor is her intelligence and her beauty. The latter is especially a deadly combination with the former. Just with those alone, she can drive men to do stupid things, honestly, not even I am susceptible to her beauty.

She is pretty, I wanna fu*k her. But, unlike others, that is where it ends. I wouldn't give up anything for her, it's more of a matter of principle. I like my things more than someone like her. I am a materialistic man, and I know that.


Only when we know what we are can we get what we want. Like for example, to the outside world, I am a billionaire. But I also have hundreds of millions of dollars in debt… close to a billion too. I can't just magically get money and raise the stock prices of my company. Instead, I must build something, and I used the refurbished apartment building as collateral. And slightly inflating the true worth of the building helped me get hundreds of millions in debt.

That is all that I truly needed, technically legal loopholes that still exist during this time.  So I am doing nothing illegal, and the only crime that I am committing is tax evasion, yeah, good luck to them finding that either. I ain't giving such a huge percentage of my income to the country, what are they even gonna use it at? Probably 'fix' another road that is not even broken but the construction department still does the work and wastes the money available to it so they don't get a budget cut next year.

Sadly for them, I don't earn jack sh*t from my company and am suffering losses. I am paying hundreds of millions of dollars in fees to a consulting company out of the country, who is then doing the same with another company, and that company too is doing the same. Sadly these companies do not have a physical place to meet so anyone who wants to investigate anything will have to call the customer's service… good luck with that. It's not illegal for a company to not have customer service available. 

They can follow the paper trail that even if it ends it would take decades to get everything as some companies are in countries which don't allow foreign government's go through their companies and banks. Truly sad for anyone who decides to investigate me, and thankfully money is appearing in my name in my Switzerland bank, an inheritance from a faraway relative. 

Let's see the people in the 80s try and solve those giant legal loopholes that even by 2020 are not solved. Actually, by then most companies use them.

God, I love capitalism… and I love the United States of America. Even Batman, the most that he can do is come and suck me off, after all, this is all legal. 


Still, though, I might need to get into a little more debt to build some new labs. I don't wanna sell ownership of my company away, so I gotta get some more debt and once this place actually starts becoming something all over the US... and beyond then can I start earning the real kind of money that will sustain my expenses. After all, the experiments that I have with other people running for me aren't that cheap either. 



Anyway, I will have to start building my own version of Facebook and YouTube. This will give my wealth a new push, plus except some extra workers, and servers to manage. It shouldn't be anything too big for me. 


I am not just a simple guy now, I have the ideas of the brightest minds from my world all combined into one. And I won't make the mistakes that they did, I already bribe the senate, so I won't be called on there for 'questioning', they are mostly in my pocket already. So is Gotham's Mayor, that stumpy fu*k, he would drop on his knees (in private) if I told him to. 


I set aside money just for bribes every month, and that is a LOT of money. Plus I have to be careful so my buildings don't get robbed so I pay the police to pay for their watch on my buildings and much more.


Money just flows out so much that my income can't keep up. I have a high Net Worth, but that is mostly from my building, labs, and patents. Honestly, I will be sinking in debt if I keep this sh*t up, but it doesn't matter at all. I still have around ten million in cash, so I can do some things with that and be a little flexible. Now, I just need to wait for my plans to collide with each other and create this money explosion for me that I will have so much income that I won't even know what to do with it.


*knock* *knock* *knock*...

I hear a knock on my door, and I look at the computer in front of me, I open the camera footage from my front door and see that it is Victor Fries, a bald man with gleaming glasses.


"Come on in," I say casually, I obviously have hired more talented people who would have become villains in the future. Desperate people are the best workers.


Dr. Freeze opens the door and comes in. I told him that he doesn't need to notify me if he wants a meeting. Everyone knows that only he can suddenly come into my office like this.

"James." Calls Victor, no honorifics needed between us. We would both consider them useless anyway. "I need another ten million, the freezing spray that can seal up wounds in case of bleeding is already made and can be mass-produced."


I am slightly surprised at that. "Oh, I see…" That is all I can say, I am surprised even if I didn't show it on the outside. This was six months earlier than predicted. The man in front of me is the best worker in this company, he works 18 hours a day. And I reward that work ethic. "Good job Victor, but… I won't give you 10 million… I will give you 20 million. Keep up the good work like this and you will get as much money as you want."


He nods and walks off immediately, I smile at that slightly. The man wants to save his wife, and I let him work on that as much as he wants, for as long as he brings me a new product that I can sell and I have given him a list of things that I want to be made that has to do with ice. For every one of them that he completes within six months he gets 10 million in funding, he does it sooner, then he gets more. 



I look behind me and look out of the one-way glass, I can see the outside but they can't see me. As I look at Gotham I can't help but be mesmerized by the city. Simply amazing, the city of sin indeed.
