Chapter 55


Title: Dark Continent… (2)

Sub gets an idea about what is going on here. "Karla, have a Manipulator in your crew try and put me under their control."

She immediately does so and a man wearing a suit with glasses comes forward and shoots a needle at Sub, piercing his body.


Then the Manipulator says. "Throw a punch."


But Sub stays in place, not even feeling anything, he isn't even trying to resist the manipulator either. So with his thesis confirmed, he cringes. 'As expected… I am still under the influence of a Manipulation ability. It also seems like a coercive type, as long as I don't give in then I should be okay… hopefully. Living in eternal bliss doesn't sound that bad, but… I can't give in.'

-Sub POV-



That is a scary ability, but we have a Nen Exorcist in the crew. He is a silver-haired man with green eyes, he conjures a gun and points it at me. 


Pow!


He shoots at me, the bullet pierces my shoulder due to me not even trying to resist it, though it gets stuck in my muscles.

Immediately a dark Aura draws from my body and goes towards the bullet. But… the bullet inside me withers.


Sh*t! This Nen is too strong to be Exorcised? This Exorcist is one of the best in the world. Fu*k, I will have to keep this on me? 


But it isn't out of my expectations, after all, the centipede is a creature of the Dark Continent. Still, though, I must try to get rid of this thing.

The ship charges forward, we evade any creatures that seem too dangerous. In the end, we finally see land.


"Hehehehe…" I couldn't stop myself from laughing at the bizarre sight in front of me. I expected things to be big. "Oy, oy, oy… ain't these things too gigantic."


For the first time in a while, I was genuinely shocked. Creatures of such size that you would need nukes to kill them. Even that might not be enough just due to their pure size. 



It was ashore, and countless crabs could accidentally step on us and we would die. 


Splash!!


That is when I look down and see a giant fish jumping towards our ship with its mouth open. Fully intending to swallow us. Damn, how the hell does something of our size even survive in this place.


Then I should see how I fare against them. So I jump off the ship and gather all of my Nen into my first. Having a radiating golden light coming from it.

As I reach the fish, I punch his head with all my might.


Baaam!!!


But I am just bashed away, as I didn't stop it for even a split second. I felt a sense of despair settle over my heart, after all this training. It was all for nothing, as I couldn't even scratch a normal looking fish in the Dark Continent.


I sigh at this, these creatures probably don't even know what training means. They were just born with the strength to destroy humans, no matter how hard they train.


Is this it for me?....


NO!!! NO WAY!!! I AM NEVER GIVING UP LIKE THIS!! I DO NOT EXPECT A LIMIT THAT ONLY LETS ME GO SO FAR!!!


My Nen reacts to my emotions and it bursts out of my body violently. I see the fish look straight at me as I create a translucent slab of rock below me and use it as a foothold to jump off and towards the fish. My leg muscles tripled in size and ripped up my pants as I jumped.


Pow!


I land on the fish, this time I don't plan to fight it head-on. I go towards the fish's eyes and create a translucent blade with my Nen by giving it hard properties. 


I stab it straight in the eye.


Cling!!


But a sound like two metals meeting sounds out. But I don't panic, putting all of my Nen in the blade as it finally pierces the fish's eye. It flails around for a bit before, maneuvering its body away from the ship due to the pain it was feeling.


I smirk at this, if I can't go through its scales, then I can kill it from going inside it.


I go towards its mouth and go inside its body. Immediately I create my aura around my body, making myself a spiky ball, and just by walking around, I am destroying everything inside it. I go through its organs and start bashing them around, after it stops moving, only then do I relax and destroy its heart before cutting my way out from the inside. This is way easier. 


After doing that I see that I am floating on the ocean as the fish is dead and it has appeared above water.


I look up, but I can't see my ship. In the end, I can only sigh and take out a card. 


I see a giant mosquito heading towards me. But I am not nervous as I say. "Accompany On: Karla."



Fwish!


Like a bolt of light, I shoot towards Karla and land right on the ship. She looks at me with a relieved look on her face.


"Are you okay?" She asks that simple question while still on guard, after all, this place isn't a good one to relax. 


I nod at her. "Don't worry, everything is okay."



As I say that, her eyes widen and she points behind me. Immediately I turn around I see an enormous sphere on top of a normal human body, where the head should be.









It doesn't say anything, but I immediately recognize this thing. It is Brion, also known as "Botanical Weapon"... 


So immediately I just ran towards Karla, grabbed her in a princess carry, and jumped off the ship.



BOOOOM!!!


Behind us, everything exploded without a trace, I don't look behind, but by using En, I can feel that the ship has now turned into a fiery flower that seems almost alive. No one else has survived from the crew that I had brought along.


Karla swallows hard as she looks at me, her eyes pleading for something. I know what she wants, but I shake my head. It is not yet time for that. We just arrived in the place, we can't activate the emergency measure.



In the end, she uses her bandages to turn them into wings and she grabs a hold of me with her bandages and flies us off to land.


But nothing seemed to want to leave us alone as a giant mosquito appeared behind us. It attempts to sting us, but Karla outmaneuvers the mosquito and uses her bandages to constrict the creature's wings, causing it to plummet to the ground.


Fwish!


Brion appears in front of us, just sitting there. Without doing anything, I was fully ready in battle mode. But the creature turns its back toward us and flies off at incredible speeds.


It strangely kills off all of the creatures around us. The giant crab on the ground is also grabbed by some vines and its legs are ripped off, making it potentially harmless. 


'Is it helping us?' I wonder as I look at Brion just killing the monsters around us. Creating a safe environment for us to land.


What the hell?!! Didn't this guy just kill our whole crew? Also shouldn't it be in the Human Continent, maybe is it a whole species instead of a single individual?


This is confusing as hell… everything is…


I look at Brion disposing of the creatures around and can't help but contemplate how much effort I must put in to grow as strong as that.



Splat!


That is when suddenly, Brion is splattered on the ground by a dark figure. Shutting down any hopes of grand power to me. 


Immediately I use my Nen to push the sand away and go underground. Together with Karla, who manipulates her bandages to stop the sand from caving in. 


I just sit on the ground at this, Karla does the same too.


"This place is crazy." She says, her face flushed in exhaustion. 


I don't answer her, but we both know that we are at the very lowest positions in the food chain in this place. Just around fish and some big bugs. 


Fu*k… what the hell is going on here… I feel like an ant. As most creatures can squish me to death, and now I am undergoing to protect myself.


How do I even fight against these creatures?


"Woah, you are quite resourceful." Says a voice behind me. It definitely isn't Karla, as she too looks shocked and stares behind me.


Damn it...
