Chapter 45



Title: Politics...

Issei thinks back on what has been bothering him. And it is something that feels like a heavy feeling in his heart. Rias and Akeno… both of them can be considered Haruto's women. No matter how he deludes himself, Issei can see what's going on between Rias and Haruto, his heart sinks every time he thinks of it. 


Tannin sits by the side, waiting for Issei to settle his thoughts before speaking. 


"Well," Issei starts, "there is this girl I like. But she likes another guy, what do I do about it?"


"Hmmm…" Tannin thinks about this. "How about trying to use your charm on her?"


"But the thing is that the other guy is handsome as hell. I look plain at best when compared to him." Complains Issei. "I hate bishounen guys like him!"


"Then there must be something that you are better than him at?" Asks Tannin, wondering who Issei is talking about. He has his kids and like every man, he too has had his own women's problems.


Issei sighs at this. "Well, that is the problem. The guy is just too good, honestly, even I can't hate him."


"I wonder who that guy might be?" Wonders Tannin out loudly, inciting Issei to answer him.


"He is Haruto Shimura." 


"Ugh," Tannin cringes. "That guy… I would suggest that you find some other girl to like then."


"Why?" Issei is confused at this since even Tannin seems put off by the thoughts of Haruto.


"Well, there are a lot of stories floating around him. Even I am unsure how many are true and how many are lies. Some even go as far as to say that Goddess Nyx helped him seduce Athena, which I doubt. And Athena was known to have the romantic emotional range of a rock." Explains Tannin. "But even she fell for a guy like Existence Eater. It's not about looks anymore, as a Goddess like that falling in love is something that transcends physical means."



Issei is confused by this, he can't understand it clearly. He is only human after all, and he can't comprehend some things with his below-average intelligence. Tannin was speaking about true love, that even if Haruto was to have his face permanently scarred and his body grotesquely deformed, Athena would still love him the same. That is the difference in the love between a Goddess like Aphrodite, who would change men like the leaves in a tree. While Athena was a stoic goddess who many called emotionless, she showed emotions at around only one in a thousand years.


'The kid is gonna be emotionally drained if he decides to go against Existence Eater.' Contemplates Tannin. 'Also I heard that the man is gathering forces, Buddha is already on his side, I heard that some other gods are the same too. Not only some gods… but I have been hearing some other very dangerous creatures have come to his side. The Olympian Gods will lose terribly if they fight against him, but they too have allies of their own, so they will gather them all to fight against the Existence Eater. Damn, hope this conflict doesn't spread to the other factions, this could start something even bigger than the three faction wars previously.'

At the same time, Rias is in a dark room with Koneko sleeping on a king-sized bed. The latter has her white ears and cat tail out.

Recently Koneko has been pushing herself too hard to train and this worries Rias. 'This isn't good at all. What would Haruto do in this situation?'


She thinks this, but then she comes to the reality of the situation. She isn't Haruto, she doesn't have the charisma to hold together an organization with conflicting and diverse personalities. 

"I want… to help you all too." Mumbles Rias as she sits on Koneko's bed and pats her head. "I am so worried about you all."

The next day, the Young Devil Gathering happens. Sirzechs, Azazel, and Haruto are on the main table, looking through the one way glass into the devils below them.


*yawn* "Except the Bael, the others are kinda weak," says Haruto with a bored look in his eyes. 'Though even Sairaorg isn't someone I would consider powerful. He is a devil and is only so strong, I know humans around his age and stronger than him… I am not even counting myself here. The Devils have gotten weaker, the likes of Sirzechs and Ajuka don't appear anymore.'



"Well, they are still young in the Devil's eyes." Reasons Azazel. 'What this brat considers powerful is on a whole other level.'


Sirzechs shakes his head. "That isn't important. I wanted to get both of your thoughts on the soon to be coming peace negotiations with Odin."


"You do know about Loki right?" Asks Haruto, wondering if Serafall had forgotten to tell him or something. 


Sirzechs nods at that. "Yeah, that is the problem. If I just straight out killed him, it would make it seem like I just killed Odin's son in front of him and he did nothing."


"Yeah, that isn't gonna look good." Azazel thinks about this and how to solve a situation like this. 'Plus Thor is said to be close to his brother, even if Loki is kind of a sh*t brother. Thor still thinks that he is his brother and wouldn't like Loki to be killed. So capture is the best option.'


Haruto sighs at this, while the show didn't express it. Every battle has a lot of politics behind it, Loki can't be killed because he is Odin's son, and Thor would angry.

Meanwhile, Rias, Sona, and their servants head to the location where the young Devils gather, witnessing Seekvaira and Zephydor bicker, which is stopped by Sairaorg who knocks out Zephydor.

But Sirzechs, Azazel, and Haruto don't pay attention to any of those minor things. 


"I would suggest that you let someone else, someone who can be just, is called youthful and all of that is just "youthful bravery". That way, Odin doesn't lose his honor and he won't be seen as a coward." Haruto suggests this. Though he sometimes considers it bothersome, he is quite knowledgeable about the politics of the Supernatural World.




"Hah~ that sounds so troublesome~" Complains Azazel. "If we had Vali, then we would have had a chance."


"True, Issei is not ready to challenge a God, no matter if he attains Balance Breaker or not." Sirzechs is worried about this.


Haruto smirks at this. "I have an item that would help Rias achieve that. Plus Odin would help, to show that he disapproves of Loki going against his wishes."


"Ahhh~ this is troublesome." Complains Sirzechs childishly. "Why can't our enemies just fight us head-on, like in the civil war."


"Well, we would beat them easily if they did that." Adds on Azazel.


Sirzechs' smile turns malicious at that. "Fu*king cowards… they don't have the balls to fight me head-on. Weaklings as always, no wonder the four previous Satans were overlooked, they were just too weak. Trashes, all of them."


"Oy~ you are showing your true feelings on this. Be careful." Haruto leans back on his chair puts his feet on the table, telling Sirzechs to calm down. "Also put your power under control. My barrier is gonna break."



Sirzechs takes a deep breath and calms down. Even with all this power, it annoys him that he has to be careful of such weaklings and how they feel. He could kill them by sneezing too hard and he has to play their games. 


Haruto sees the red-haired devil and can't help but think. 'What crazy power, and he isn't even in his true form.'


But he is concentrated on something else, his eyes are on Koneko as she then suddenly leaves the party with Issei and Rias noticing both chasings after her.


'Hm~ isn't this nice. Plus Kuroka is here… I wonder how she has been doing lately.'
