Chapter 73

Sub looks at Camilla and Tserriednich in front of him. Karla smirks at this, already knowing from the look in the princess's eyes what is going to happen.



"How can I help you, Tserriednich, Camilla?" Asks Sub as he has his hands on his pockets and his demeanor is casual.


"You have a lot of nerve to talk to royalty that way." Says Camilla, while Tserriednich smirks, finding the situation quite amusing.


"Oh? What got your panties in a twist princess knickers?" Sub teases.


"H -How vulgar!!" This makes Camilla even madder, the woman enters a state of Zetsu, not even a trace of her Nen escapes her body.



"Oh? Nice, so why you princess? I can already see that using Zetsu in a situation like this is detrimental to you. So you most likely have a revenge type ability." Sub's observation hits head-on and makes Camilla cringe.


Fwosh!



The next instant, he is grabbing her by the throat and lifts her up with one hand. "Talk to me like that one more time and I will rip off your pretty mouth. Understood?"


She just smirks at this, since she is in a state of Zetsu, she isn't afraid of Sub killing her since that will activate her ability.

Booom!!!


Sub's Nen enters Camilla's body and forcefully opens her Aura Nodes, it felt like an invasive method to her. It felt like he forcefully entered her body… roughly…


"Ahn~" She moans, making him stop in his tracks and look at her weirdly.


"Are you some kind of masochist?" 


As soon as he asks her that, Camilla looks at him with a murderous look in her eyes. "I will kill you and torture, everyone you love, only then you will beg me for the sweet release of death. All your relatives will be killed… because you assaulted and tried to kill a royal family member."



"Sheesh, what a big mouth you have." He complains.


Baam!


A punch lands on her guy, making her spit out a mouthful of blood. Camilla was getting a little worried at this as she can't complete the condition of her ability to enter a state of Zetsu. This is bad for her since if she dies now, her ability won't activate. Her ability allows her revival and kills her killer… but now…


She looks towards the brother that she doesn't recognize as a sibling. But Tserriednich has a smile on his face and just looks to the side trying to cover his chuckle.



'Fu*king mad bastard.' She is extremely angry at this.


"Sir, I think attacking a royal family member wouldn't be smart." A deep voice comes from the end of the hallway. As he comes forward, he is a muscular figure with a large nose and lines along his cheeks. He is Benjamin, the oldest child of the emperor.


"Oh, Benjamin, I haven't seen you in a long time. How have you been?" One would think that Sub is meeting with an old friend by how casually he talked… except the reality is that he is currently holding this man's sister by the throat and choking her.



"I have been well, mister Greed. But, can you stop choking Camilla?" Though Benjamin respects the strength of the man in front of him, he can't just allow him to his sister and do nothing. "Fighting the Kakin Empire wouldn't be beneficial to you either."



"Hmm… you are right." Sub agrees to that, so he lets go of Camilla, letting her fall on the ground. He then pats her on the head. "Be a good girl and don't do something stupid again… okay?"


BOOOOOM!!!


As he says that, his Nen explodes out of his body, it shakes the whole royal palace like an earthquake has hit the place.


Sub's figure is covered in darkness, dark wings appear out of his back, and in this darkness are only two lights where his eyes should be.


"Royal family, don't forget, even with your whole country's military. You are weaklings." Sub warns them as his body turns into darkness and disappears into nothing like he didn't exist even, to begin with.


Benjamin looks around, but he doesn't see even Kalra, as she too had disappeared.

The Kakin Empire suppressed news of the event that happened there. The people seeing the royal family as heavenly people, untouchable by mortals, that is what kept them in power.


Two months pass since Sub "assaults" the royal palace. 


Currently, Kurapika looks at the girl in front of him, he had just been hired by the Nostrade family and he had to protect a young girl called Neon Nostrade. Apparently, she could make some prophecies.


Currently, there were four of them protecting the young girl. It is Basho, a man with a mustache and sideburns which are connected, he is muscular and his Nen Ability is very powerful, whatever he writes in a paper becomes reality, but the written thing must be a poem and the power of it depends on how good the poetry is.


Next was a beautiful woman with sharp green eyes and dark pink hair twisted into a long braid that stood upward, with several strands falling on her forehead. She also sported pink lipstick. She is Baise and she can manipulate for 180 minutes whomever she kisses. The target becomes overwhelmingly infatuated with her and will follow her every command.


Last was Moldy, a stout short, and disfigured woman. Kurapika observes all of them and looks at the last person in the room, a young lady with blue hair tied back with a yellow bow and has a rather petite figure. She wears a pink and red striped top and a plain white dress, as well as very large purple shoes. This is Neon, the person that they are supposed to protect.


They were standing guard behind her as she was waiting for someone in a very high-class expensive restaurant.

-Sub POV-



I walk into the restaurant to meet Neon and I am two hours late. I was having a little "fun" with Karla lately.


I see Kurapika and Melody behind her, also two people that I remember from the Anime, but I don't remember their names. Though I do remember their Hatsu Abilities.


I like to have my future read as much as possible and since Neon's father is under our control then I can do that whenever I want. The Phantom Troupe definitely isn't stealing Neon's ability, her power is just too useful to let a weakling like Chrollo have it. He would still have his teammates dead even after all that.


I will kill them all if Chrollo dared to do something like that, I will apologize to Machi later, after killing them. She would be sad, but feelings like that settle down with time.



I sit down and see that everyone in the room seems awkwardly quiet.


"Hello~ Greed~" Neon greets me as she leans her head on the table.


I pat her on the head at that. "Yo, Neon, how has my cute fortune teller been doing?"



"Everything has been boring lately." She complains. "Father is worried about everything, he got a bad read on his latest fortune reading."



"Oh~" Now that is a serious thing. I wonder what it might be, I am quite good at deciphering these things so maybe I can figure something from reading his. "Can you write it for me again?"


"Sure~" she hums and takes out a piece of paper, writing her father's name, blood type and she then takes out her phone and shows a picture of her father.


Immediately her eyes turn dull, and the purple creature with its eyes closed starts controlling her hand and writing the fate of the Nostrade family boss on the paper.



As she does that I look at Kurapika. "Oh, what an interesting crew of bodyguards."


I look at Melody. "One is the victim of the Sonata of Darkness." 


I see her body move subconsciously for a split second of surprise, but she immediately calms herself down.


Then I look at Kurapika. "And a member of a dead clan… very interesting."


As soon as I say that, his Nen is released uncontrollably. I smirk at that slightly. I bet that under those contacts his eyes are scarlet now. The Kurta Clan has always been impressive and Chrollo got arrogant enough to not look things through fully. Well, except Machi, they can all die and I wouldn't blink even once. The Phantom Troupe are all trash, so they deserve whatever comes to them. Though Chrollo will cry once Uvo dies, what a b*tch, once you kill someone, then you should be prepared to come and kill you. 




I call him a sloppy thief and killer. He has a little power and goes swinging it around recklessly.


Hmm… but then again, they are only human so they will make mistakes. Also, it isn't like I have the moral high ground either.



Those thoughts of mine are interrupted as Neon says. "I am finished!"


She then shows me the paper of her father's fate and I start reading the poem.

The eyes shine in the night as the black turns red

The third month glistens in the moonlight as the first moon falls.
The dark-eyed man takes the rains of man and rides it to the land beyond the lake.


ThE DaRk one looks from above with his wings open to engulf. 
Looking above his lonely castle awaiting the 4rth arrival.


Well do would be to dodge, on the West you shall find what you seek. 
To be released from the chains of the dark witch, the third eye must be closed shut.

Okay… this is complicated, I can guess that the last verse is talking about how one can break through the witches' chains, which must mean Karla, and how to break out of her control.


Also the third moon? Hmmm… from what I remember from canon, the moons signify the Phantom Troupe by their numbers. Holy sh*t!! Machi is number Three...


But about the Dark One? Who is that? Is it talking about me or someone else? Hmmm… I must be careful on that one, I don't think it is talking about me.


Wait on the first verse, what does the eyes being turned red mean? Damn… this is still so confusing.



I look at Kurapika, and that is when it hits me… understanding what that means…

P.S: Some people know the MC as Greed, since telling his name can sometimes activate Nen abilities, he is careful with dangerous people he doesn't trust… and who he thinks might be a little stupid.
