Chapter 57

School days came around and Haruto went back to being the 'normal' high school student that he always was.


While in his classroom, nothing had changed except that Rias was even more clingy than usual. This happened all because she wanted to show everyone their new relationship status and try to keep the other girls at bay.


Athena went back to her teacher persona and looked at Haruto with a questioning look. He just shrugged, and as of having a silent conversation, Athena smiled and went back to teaching.


Haruto's mind on the other hand went back to wondering. Especially since he had learned Memory Spells a long time ago, he had always been reading his memories and gathered all the DxD world information that he could to form a timeline. While he might not have seen the show after the art change, he still read the Wiki to see how the story went along, so he still knew quite a bit of the soon to come story. But there was one thing that had been bothering him for some time… for years now… he had stumbled on a forgotten memory of his which was on a Wiki page about Great Red.

{In True Volume 4, Great Red fought the Fierce God of the ExE world, Regalzeva, but as he was not his match, Great Red was effortlessly killed by him.} - That was all the Wiki page that he had read at the time. And that terrified him, it was the main reason why he always was chasing after power.

But even now he can't beat Great Red, so hoping to somehow battle against some ExE World beings was not something that he could even fathom yet. Still, he was on his way to prepare for the battle, though he did wonder if maybe he had changed the timeline enough for those events to not happen at all. At least he hoped so… but reality never was nice like that, so he still had to prepare for the worst.


The world was unfair, it felt like even though he had worked so much and tried so hard, he might still fail. Especially since so far in the timeline, his information would be almost none. He never read that far into DxD, he would have done so though. The only thing he can do now keeps getting stronger and with the help of Valerie...


"Hey~ want to meet up in the bathroom?" Rias whispers in his ear, making sure to convey the hidden meaning clearly with her voice.


Haruto smirked, to him there was no need to worry about the future. After all, how was worrying about it going to help him? Will feeling fear help him? No, he will have to help himself, not let his emotions run wild needlessly.

At the same time, in front of Haruto's door, a silver-haired Rossweisse was in tears as Odin had forgotten about her and went on to do his own thing, leaving her behind.


"Damn him!" She yelled out in despair.

"Oh dear…" that was when Haruto's mother, Nanami Shimura looked at the woman crying in front of her door with pity. "Haruto… he went and broke another girl's heart… how did he grow up to become such a scumbag."



Though she said all of that, Rossweisse didn't seem to notice till Nanami touched her shoulder. "Hey there, young woman, are you okay?"


As Rossweisse turned around, her beautiful blue eyes reflected the sunlight as they were covered in tears. 

'Ah, another foreigner girl.' Concluded Nanami, she had noticed that her son had a taste in women. "C'mon now dear, don't stay in here, come inside and we can talk about it if you want."



Rossweisse picked up her luggage and entered the modest middle-class house. It wasn't too big, but it wasn't small either. She looked around and felt at home, especially since Haruto's mother had decided to help her.

'As expected, his mother truly was kind too.' She blushed while looking around, wondering where Haruto's room was.


Nanami on the other hand had a whole other perspective on things. This wasn't the 1st time some girl cried in her front door, Haruto had done the same to many other women. She still wondered what was so good about her son that many women didn't seem to be able to leave him. Nanami remembered like it was yesterday when Haruto had taken money from Athena casually, she does occasionally wonder where did she go wrong with raising her son. He used to be like an angel when he was young.


"If you want to talk, I will be here for you," Nanami reassures Rossweisse, "I know just how hard people have it at his hands."


"You do?!" The silver-haired valkyrie was surprised at this, 'Did Haruto's mother work for Odin too? Wow… who would have thought…'


Of course, Nanami had no idea what Rossweisse was thinking, but she assumed that she was talking about Haruto. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone and will understand your worries. No… it's my duty to try and lessen your hurt."


'Her duty? So she must be my senior then? I never heard of her, but she must be extraordinary too since this woman is Haruto's mother after all.' Rossweisse already came to her conclusions about the situation, even though Haruto's mother and heritage never even had any blood relation or connection with the supernatural before Haruto. Still, the silver-haired valkyrie decided to finally confide in her 'senior'. "Well, as you probably know. He is scum, he just straight up and left me all alone in a foreign country with no money."



"Oh! I can't believe that he would do something like this!" Nanami exclaimed in shock. 'Haruto is even worse than I thought! Leaving a woman in another country and without money! He is worse than trash! I thought I tought him better than this.'


"I know right!" Sobbed Rossweisse, feeling like she finally found a kindred spirit who understood her, "Even when I was with him, he kept chasing after other women, not thinking at all about how ashamed I would feel about it."

"Oh, God no! How could he do something like this to a pretty girl like you? I am definitely having a talk with Haruto about this." Said Nanami convinced. 


"What? I -I don't want to bother Haruto -kun." Stuttered Rossweisse, not wanting to involve someone like Haruto, who she potentially feels like there could be more between them. She didn't want him to see this pathetic side of her. 


"Young woman, Haruto has to get involved! It's his problem too. Don't be soft and let him walk all over you like this, you must show him that you aren't someone that can just be walked over." Haruto's mother kept encouraging Rossweisse, that the valkyrie felt more confident and wondered if maybe Haruto liked courageous girls.

After some time, Haruto came back from school he had Xenovia and Irina with him. The latter of which had just transferred to Kuoh Academy today and she decided to come and greet his parents since she used to know them from long ago. Plus she will be living in her old house so they will practically be neighbors.


"Mom, I am home." He called out as soon as he opened the front door, "Also I have Irina with me, she will be moving next door-"

*fwish*


He was interrupted as a pan flew straight towards his head. "You unfilial son! How dare you dishonor so many young women with bright futures! Also, what was that about Irina?! Her father was like family to us, yet you still want to sully his daughter's honor!! If you weren't my son I would have kicked you out long ago."


"Huh?" Haruto was genuinely confused by this, he also caught the pan which was about to hit him head-on "What are you talking about Ma?"


"Don't act so innocent you dishonorable fool! How will I be able to face all of these girls' parents? They are someone's daughters and siblings, so show some damn respect!" She yelled out before throwing, even more, pans at Haruto, who casually caught them all.



'What the hell is going on here?' He wondered.

A/N: Haruto's mother totally misunderstood the situation. Also she doesn't aprove of her son's ways... she wants him to find one girl which will make him happy and keep it at that. She loves her son deeply, but doesn't want him to be a bad person who uses nice girls.


P.S: ExE is actually canon, and the MC is thinking about the worse case scenario and planning against it. Though this is still a far away thing, he is just thinking into perspective.
