Continuous Plot or One-Shots?
Added 2024-06-15 18:45:19 +0000 UTCAssuming I get to go for a full Punk Ass Pirate Donkey web series after the pilot, what would you rather see across multiple episodes?
I have ideas pretty locked and loaded for either, just curious what ya'll think.

Could not possibly argue with your results my guy! <3 I super fuck with your method and really wanna give it a shot, I've never tried setting up multiple episodes of something before at once. I like the idea of small arcs, because I super don't wanna promise some massive winding story going and then make one episode at a time -- that usually does not turn out well. But having a small handful in pre-production and each cartoon as good on its own as I can get it sounds like the right move. Just gotta develop ways to not bite off more than I can chew lol

2024-08-11 17:06:22 +0000 UTCOops, I know this poll is old now but... I like planning mini-batches of eps. Sometimes in my own stuff I've commited to more than I end up wanting to do in one go, but I feel like planning out like 4-6 at a time can be good. Either mini-arcs or standalones or a mix. It gives you a sense of your direction and you can plan for overall series balance, rather than feeling like each episode has to hit all the targets every time. Gives me permission to go "it's ok this main character doesn't show up in this one cause I know he'll be in the next one" etc.

2024-06-17 15:36:15 +0000 UTCfair enuff, it was episodic but had an underlying overarching plot going on and I found it very cool.

2024-06-16 20:37:13 +0000 UTCit's true, you can really see a character reacting to more types of situations. both is possible though if you're clever B]

2024-06-16 20:31:40 +0000 UTCyeah, like sometimes it's nice to cover more ground without worrying 'how' to make something happen next

2024-06-16 20:29:39 +0000 UTCI lean towards one shots because that’s the best way to truly get to know a character. But you know what, both is possible xD

2024-06-15 19:13:04 +0000 UTCI tend to lean towards continuous plot, but sometimes one shots allow characters more room to breath
