Title: A Vampire Queen's Worry...
————
For a whole week, endless waves of monsters came, the ground outside of the Soul Sect was whittled in darkness. Endless monster corpses were all around and dark blood flowed like a river.
The Mages atop the wall continued to shoot fireballs and as soon as their Mana ran out they would go to rest and be replaced by another Mage. They have had zero casualties on their side, while the mindless monsters have died in the tens of thousands.
Even Alex was amazed by the results, usually something always went wrong in a plan. Since outside factors would intervene, but this time he knew that even if these monsters continued attacking for a decade like this then it wouldn't be a problem.
Especially since each spell from the mages touched his barrier before going outside and some of Alex's mana leached into the spell before killing off a monster. It meant that he gained a percentage of the Exp from each monster killed.
Ya Xiao was amongst the walls as he looked at the carnage the mages were causing. Even he was impressed by this firepower. It was something that his armies didn't possess
even when he was the Human Emperor.
The world had grown even without him. Back in the day, magic had been about drawing Mana from the atmosphere and shooting out a Fireball. Very basic usage, only the best Legendary Rank Mages could do something complex. Now though Magic had evolved so much that it left Ya Xiao stunned. No wonder warriors were considered inferior fighters nowadays.
It wasn't because Mages just wanted to discriminate against the Warriors. But that was the truth, a sword could only cut down so much before it broke, but a Mage was different. Their weapons wouldn't break, and due to the many Barrier Spells and Teleportation Spells, their physical bodies were safe too.
'Teleportation Spells were something that only Legendary Mages could use back in the day.' Ya Xiao contemplated. Spells that had been hard to use back then were simplified by the Magicians over the ages and made to be used even by weaker ones too.
Suddenly, he felt someone teleport next to him and Ya Xiao instinctively flinched for a split second. Alex came out of the Teleportation Circle and with an amused smile on his face put a hand on the young man's shoulder. "You should rest, or do you plan to go outside and have another investigation?"
Ya Xiao could tell by Alex's joking voice that he wouldn't be left out. Even if he wanted to leave. After all, going outside of these walls right now was akin to suicide.
Waves of monsters were never ending, the Wayne Kingdom and most other organizations in it had fallen by now. The situation outside was unknown and even Alex hadn't had any information about outside of the Soul Sect.
…
Looking at the young Ya Xiao was amusing for Alex. To him the evolution of a species was nothing strange, especially for 2000 years. He was a little surprised that there hadn't been even more improvements, but usually direct monarchies had Kings and Nobles repress anyone who came up with an idea that could potentially threaten their hold on power.
Only a place where free thought, expression and freedom for opportunity was allowed would people thrive. Sure, in his last world Alex wouldn't say that where he lived was perfect or that everyone was equal, but if a person had the intelligence then they would thrive.
Here, if someone had intelligence, then the Noble Lord would either use him like a slave or kill him before the person started threatening their power. Still though, humanity continued to improve even here. So it wasn't a surprise that after 2000 years there would be big changes in the Magic System. After all, in Alex's last world, even the weakest country in the modern world would dominate the world if it was put 2000 years in the past.
"Ya Fei has been worried about you," Alex told him. "You should go inside and rest, after all, as soon as this wave is over you will have to go outside and continue your investigation."
It wasn't a choice, Ya Xiao understood that. Especially since now his sister's value had plummeted and the Wayne Kingdom would fall. There will be a power vacuum in the future, one that won't be filled just because someone had royal blood. No, only the strongest would sit at the top of humanity, just like Ya Xiao had done two thousand years ago.
Suddenly Alex stopped and immediately teleported back to the deepest levels of the underground part of the Soul Sect. In there was a room/lab filled with many things, from spare bodies, potion machines, items that would cause countries to fight over and many things that generally were treasures of the highest level.
Yet the things were moved around like trash as Alex went towards a blinking crystal ball and picked it up. "What does she want now?" He wondered and activated the crystal ball, and out of it appeared a hologram screen with Yomu in it, she was the purple haired vampire under Camilla.
Her usual haughty face was filled with worry and fear. "Alex! Camilla! She-" *bshhhht*
The connection got cut off. He was bothered by this and just looked at the screen which showed Yomu exchanging attacks with an unseen person.
"You know, I don't exactly have the time for this," muttered Alex, unworried as blood splattered around and the purple-haired vampire's arm flew off like a rag.
"Ahhhhh!!" She screamed in pain as red lighting hit her body. Scorching Mark's appeared all over her body and she slumped on the ground.
"Oh~" an intrigued look appeared on his face. "Fighting against a Warrior in an enclosed space when you are a Mage is a bad idea, Yomu."
"You are right sir Alex," Suddenly someone picked up the communication device and Yomu's injured form. The face that appeared in the projection was that of a handsome long blonde haired man with blue eyes and a Noble aura around him. "We have decided to fight against Camilla and take over Shadow Island. She is no longer worthy to rule this place."
"Is that so?" Alex questioned amusingly. "But to me it seems like just some cowards taking advantage of the situation."
Immediately the blond man's noble face morphed into a threatening one. "Alex, even if it's you-"
"Camilla is weakened right?" Alex interrupted him. "That's why you are doing this. Because this was the only chance weaklings like you would ever do anything like this. Or else, guys like you just lick the ground she walks on."
"You-" he was about to talk again, but once more Alex interrupted him.
"But even though you are weak, it doesn't mean that I won't join your side. That's why you let Yomu 'accidentally' call me right? You didn't know Camilla's codes and how to use the Magic Items to call me," Alex concluded. "So you faked a scenario where she would have no choice but to call me."
The man looked on nervously, but that nervousness didn't last long as he straightened up and asked. "Are you willing to help us in this endeavor?"
"Sure~" Alex answered in a sing-song voice. "Just remember, I get 50% of the things that Camilla has in her treasury."
"I accept, it's a deal then," the man agreed without hesitation and the call turned off. Alex only kept smiling at the crystal ball. "Those guys really are something."
