The Game of a Blood Mage

Chapter 100: Flipping Evil & Good

***
Alex looked at Pork fondly, even though the heat that the small boar was realizing reached critical danger and the skin in his hands started melting. Even a Mana Barrier couldn’t keep the power contained. But he didn’t mind this and just kept petting Pork. “C’mon now little guy, you have to control that power, there is nothing I can do now except support you.”

He had a steel-like gaze the small boar shook and struggled before the heat suddenly instantly disappeared and the skin in Alex's hands started regenerating. The smile that appeared on his face seemed to almost split his face. “Yes… yes!! Amazing little guy!”

Pork looked up and snorted out a stream of hot air came out and the room seemed to turn very hot. Alex felt his blood starting to boil so he created a barrier just above his skin so it would cool him down. “Be careful Pork, you just had a big and sudden spike in power. Even doing something as breathing too heavily now could be disastrous to others.”

The little boar nodded and hopped off his lap, softly landing on the ground. He then used his hooves to try and run towards the door.

BOOOOOOM!!!!

Suddenly, just as Pork pushed off the ground, the floor cracked and the room shook. Alex looked on in excitement. “I told you to be careful,” though it sounded like he was reprimanding him, Alex couldn’t be any more excited. “Also your strength is monstrous, now we just need to create a religion around you.”

Even Alex was a little surprised, there had been many gods of Fire throughout history who had died and left their cores behind in the Mortal Realm. Fire was a common concept that could easily be worshiped and built a religion around.

He didn’t exactly know the origin of the core in the Fire Islands, but back in the game, it was assumed to be the strongest Fire God to ever exist. Though Alex, as the God of Ice back in the game had some info that no one else had in the Game. Gods liked to gossip a lot, and apparently, the last God of Fire was killed by the current Sun God. They were almost equal in power.
Xaxtyz, the Sod of the Sun, was in the Council of Gods, meaning that he had killed and absorbed any other God of Suns in the known multiverse. Before Ariel came to power, it was said that he was the strongest God.

Alex hadn’t met the God of the Sun in-game either, since even then he was at a level of a Minor God even in his peak. The heat that Xaxtyz generated was something that would cause minor gods to die if they got too close.

On Shadow Island, Camilla, the Queen of Vampires was on her throne, the room around her was dark and cold, but she didn't mind it.

Her childish form with blonde hair tied in twin tails, and her red dress made her look like a princess. Her red eyes though had a feeling of uncertainty.

“Stare into the Abyss, and it will stare back at you,” she muttered looking at her soft, cold hand. As a half undead, her heart was still technically alive, but she couldn’t help but ponder something. “Who am I?”

She knew that the World Tree that connected the multiverse was a theory that many mages spent their lives looking for. It wasn’t a physical object, nor a traditional tree that needed to be watered, it wasn’t made of wood either. But a certain man stared into it long in the past and was said to have gone mad. That was the first instance someone had seen the tree in the Astral Plane.

If she had a Gamer Interface she would have seen that her current Class was something called: Fate Mage. Someone with the ability to see fate and even control it, also as a sub-ability it would allow her to look into alternate realities that are close. But that latter part also led to some complications, because she could see and live multiple lifetimes of alternate versions of herself, which would cause a certain identity issue. If someone’s identity was determined by their soul and memories, then what if the memories changed. Would she become someone else?

She didn't have an answer to all of these questions in her mind. But she did know someone who had a lot more answers than he let on. “Dream God, I know that you are watching this, come out.”

Suddenly, an avatar that represented the old man with a long white beard and white hair, had an eyepatch and the smirk on his face that said that he knew something you didn’t. That smirk could be quite irritating. But Camilla wasn’t someone who couldn’t keep track of her mind and calm herself down.

“Technically, I am not the Dream God, but the God of Dreams,” the old man said, a look of amusement dancing in his eyes.

“I can’t stop looking through the Multiverse, even as we are talking I am also observing countless other similar conversations that we are having,” Camilla explained. She knew that the old man helping her for free was something impossible. But she wanted to try and see if he would let something slip through the multiple versions of the man that she was speaking to. If this went on, she would eventually go crazy, it felt like she was living multiple lives at once, while at the same time being one.

“I wish I had that ability,” the old God grumbled. “If it was me, I would treat that as a gift. Something extremely useful. Not the curse you make it out to be.”

“Don’t misunderstand. I don’t see it as a curse, it's an extremely useful ability that allowed me to predict thousands of things and make use of them… like for example, your obsession with Alex,” Camilla smirked as she saw the old man suddenly stop and look at her with wide eyes. “Yeah, you think I wouldn’t see that?”

“Truly a terrifying ability,” he sighed regretfully. ”If I had that…”

“But you don’t have it, so go on and continue explaining how I could deal with something like this,” she ascertained. Her eyes weren’t that of someone who was playing around and with her ability, she could kill even High Gods that were in the Council of Gods by simultaneously killing their believers through the multiverse.

High Gods were essentially unkillable as one couldn’t travel through the multiverse, but Camilla could coordinate with her parallel selves and weaken the High Gods tremendously and then kill them off. Or at least what counted as “dying” to a God.

Even the God of Dreams had a cautious stance as he stared at Camilla. She had become someone that any God would fear, it wouldn’t be wrong to call abilities very suited to God Killing.

*sigh* “Your ability is impossible to turn off, but if your mind expands, then you should be able to shut down that processing information and while you would still be seeing it constantly it would be an afterthought at most,” explained the old god. He didn’t dare lie right now, Camilla would be able to see through it.

She nodded, “Thanks, now you are dismissed and go doing what you usually do. Which consists of stalking Alex most of the time, right?”

The God of Dreams’ eyes narrowed. “Just how far did you look into me?”

“Who knows…” Camilla smirked, crossing her legs and gazing at him smugly, daring the God to try and do anything against her. “But I do know that if there was one God who came the closest to Omnipresence, it would be you. The first man to stare into the Astral Plane and see the World Tree. You are crazy aren’t you?”

Fwish!

Immediately, the God of Dream’s Avatar that had the power of a Peak Legendary Rank charged and went to rip Camilla’s head off.

But suddenly his body stopped as the air around him turned into ripples like water and out of the center of the ripples came red strings that gently wrapped around his arms, legs, and neck. Dodging, running away, blocking, sidestepping, breaking through, attacking… was impossible, reality itself wouldn’t allow it.

She smirked. “I have already seen any attack, escape or even trick that you might try to pull. None of them would work against me.”

[Strings of Fate]

“I will forgive you for attacking me this time, but… I will also take something from you too,” Camilla said casually, as she snapped her fingers and the red strings created a cocoon around the Dream God’s Avatar. “Also, Alex is my toy, so next time I see you peeking at him…”

She clenched her fist and the red strings compressed into a fingertip-size red ball. Immediately, this was a God's power compressed. Normally when a God's Avatars died they would differ in a loss in divine power, but most of that would be returned within the death of an Avatar. So while it hurt a God, it wasn’t something catastrophic. But what Camilla just did, was thought to be something impossible before.

A God’s own Divine Energy was something that he or she could control, but Camilla seemed to have changed the fate of that power itself and trapped a huge power of the Dream Mage. She went and sat back down on her chair, made a necklace of the new red ball of Divine Power, and put it around her neck. “Hmmm~ this looks good on me~”

She stretched, leaning back on her throne lazily. “Tch, should go and see what Alex has been up to. That Dream bastard is dangerous. Whether he was the God to reincarnate Alex is unknown as I only have his words as proof. But there seems to be something he wants from my cute Alex.”

With a smile on her face, she got off her throne and a dark hole opened and she entered it with a casual jump in her step.

***
A/N: In a fair fight, if they fought in their ttue bodies Camilla would lose against the Dream Mage 100% of the time. But her power is very useful, as it allows her to actually eliminate Gods entirely by killing their believers.
