One Piece: Desperate

Chapter 149

There was one small problem… I had no Chakra. Literally, none, zero, and had 0% chances of developing it naturally. My body is that of the One Piece world. Chakra wasn't something it could generate.


So how the hell do I get Chakra? I still had my powers as I dragged myself, made my body smaller, and lessened my weight to that of someone normal for my body size. Though, in this world, those devil fruit powers seemed to become somewhat weaker and more sluggish. But at the same time, my weakness of water didn’t exist in this world. So it wasn’t all negatives.



 Then again, my body had gotten considerably weaker too, and it wasn’t because I had turned myself into a childish form. Though this physical deterioration was mostly just my body getting used to a whole new universe and moving to a whole new world. Human bodies weren't made for such things. 


I wasn’t worried too much about my body as it would eventually be back in top form and could already feel myself slowly but surely adapting to the new world. Nevertheless, the Devil Fruits were weakened here and even my Haki was a little stunted, though thankfully my Haki was quite good so I could still see the future.

After Hashirama and Madara separated, I too just casually walked through the forest and tried to think up a way to gain Chakra. Since I was in the Warring States Era, there was no Orochimaru or anyone good enough that I knew who would be knowledgeable about Chakra and how to possibly create a Chakra Network. 


I will need to find a medical master in this world and have them teach how the human bodies work here. They were generally the same as normal humans, but with chakra networks added, I better learn everything from scratch.



At the same time, while I wanted chakra, I wouldn't like to lose this body's power. Even while weakened, my physical statistics were off the charts and I doubted anyone could best me physically in this world. Yes, I was counting tailed beats too. Essentially, those monsters wouldn't be able to beat me in an arm wrestle. One Piece bodies were stupidly overpowered and I didn't want to lose such an advantage.

With these thoughts in mind, Max, or as he was known now as, Daisuke. The first thing he did after meeting Hashirama and Madara was to try and find a village or at least a semblance of human civilization.



Due to his wide range of Observation Haki, he was able to sense human presence walking toward the northwest and followed along.


Not long after, he arrived in a small settlement. It was a town surrounded by wooden walls and guards mounting the walls and a couple on the front gates too.



Daisuke, in the form of an innocent child, walked casually. He knew since he looked like a child, no one would suspect anything of him. At least as long as he didn't try to infiltrate a ninja clan because those guys would be out in the look for anything. Their cautiousness towards everyone was because of the Transformation Jutsu. 


"Shukuba Town, I heard this place is safe."

"Nowhere is safe nowadays, the Uchiha and Senju have been going crazy lately."

"Ninjas aren't someone you should mess with. Even children are monsters. These clans start training them as soon as they are born."


Due to his keen hearing, Daisuke was able to gather a lot of information the closer to the people he got. 



Slowly, Daisuke hid my presence and turned invisible by using the Clear-Clear Fruit. Though its power was weakened here, it still eradicated any trace of his existence here. And even if there were sensors around, Daisuke didn't have chakra for them to sense either.



On the inside, the town seemed lively as there were restaurants, casinos, and other establishments. But there were no modern buildings.




While still under the cover of invisibility, Daisuke entered one of the casinos and hung around, stealing some money everywhere he went. Though he made sure that no one would notice and stole small amounts from each winning gambler.

-Daisuke (Max) POV-


After taking the money from the gambling dens, I got a general idea of just how much everything was and since the world used the same currency here, inflation was pretty much almost non-existent. Though right now, most people seemed to use silver rocks and other things to trade so the currency wasn’t rooted yet.


This was quite interesting and curious. How would it develop in the future? I knew how it would go. Small things like these were interesting to see sometimes. History could be interesting, though teachers are always able to make anything boring. Though it is mostly due to the filtration in the school, the brutal history of the world, the betrayals and alliances, those things were always not mentioned, so that made history boring. History was like a real book based on real life, and I was going to witness it in this world.


Since I plan to be in the world for quite a while, certain things were needed. Maybe I should join Konoha when it was created? No, that would be too troublesome. Even if I created my own ninja clan, there would be politics involved. 


...Oh, maybe I should create my own Hidden Village? That would be more convenient, but at the same time way harder. Ugh, I will have to manage it by myself initially. Or maybe I should try and find some talented people so they can handle the menial task. Then I will be like Steve Jobs and tell other people what to do and just enjoy myself, and any achievements they make will inevitably be seen as my achievement.


Wow, okay, now I feel like I am getting older each day. These long rants of boredom get longer too. How old was I getting mentally? It should be around twenty-six.



Walking past one of the houses in my invisibility, I changed my forms and entered my adult form. I was quite taller than a normal human, a little over two meters, with a muscular body and black trousers and a jacket with a red shirt. Back when I got the Clothes-Clothes Fruit, I never thought it would be so useful. 


As I walked into the open, some people looked at me and immediately started whispering amongst themselves. If they knew my real height they would be beyond shocked. But this was just enough to stand out and look strong, without being seen as some freak of nature in this world. 


That was when I tried listening in on the people whispering at me.

“Wow, look at that guy!”

“He seems strong.”

“Probably a ninja.”

“Tch, those bastards only know how to cause trouble.”

"He can’t hear us right?”

“No, of course not. I know ninjas.”

“Really?”

“Trust me bro.”

“The last time you said that-”



After that, the whispers delved into useless things. Though I did learn that in a couple of days, a lady from the Land of Tea would come and visit the small town. So they were going to clean the small town and make it as good as possible.



That was when I had an idea. During the warring states period, I don’t think there even was such a thing as a medical ninja as Tsunade was the one who made the idea famous. Even then, medical ninjas were recognized as a necessary part of any team many years later. 



So that all meant that there would be no use in looking for a good medic amongst ninja at this age. But there was another method, and that was that this world still had a monarchy system with the Daimyo being like the King, the same with the nobles. In the end, the nobles must know a doctor who is so good that they would call whenever one of the rich people had a bad disease. 


Learning about the human body and creating a chakra network for someone like me won’t be easy but it is still within the realm of possibility. 

After all, I wasn’t powerless. Because even if I didn’t have Chakra… that doesn't mean I was weak.

Gozen Tomoe, also known as just Tomoe. She was the 13th daughter of the strongest noble family in the Land of Fire. She had just become nineteen years old, and that was a little over the normal age to be married to someone of her stature. 


Still though, as the 13th daughter she didn’t have any responsibilities, and even with her gentle-looking face, silver hair, and blue eyes, she posed quite the beautiful sight. Yet, there was no arranged marriage for her. 


So there was nothing for her to complain about in life. But she couldn’t help but feel helpless, as she had no idea where her life was heading. It was like she was walking a dark tunnel, no ambition, no dreams, no goals...


But her boredom subsided a little once she arrived at the new town. But her disappointment was immeasurable once she saw that nothing was interesting here and there were people gathered here greeting her. 


Even the Mayor seemed like he wanted to try and court her. She would have given him a chance if he wasn't a fat old man with barely any hair on his head. He bragged about his town and how it had succeeded during the time he had been managing it.


‘Does he think I am some desperate girl in need of money? What a fool.’ - though Tomoe, sighing as after the talk was gone she said that she was going to bed due to being tired from her journey.



But as she lay in her bed she heard someone say. 


“Shambles.”

She felt her body move and she was in a whole different place. Somewhere unfamiliar, looking around it wasn’t a luxurious room but a normal-looking inn. 

“Where am I?” She looked around, confused and a little scared. But at the same time, a little intrigued.


That was when she saw the other inhabitant in the room. She had to admit it, the man was tall, handsome and his body was well built. Even his long spiky silver hair was attractive. But Tomoe shook her head, getting out of her daydream. “Who are you?”


The man’s eyes narrow, bringing a chill down her spine as she felt a feeling of coldness envelop her body. Then a small smirk came to his face and he chuckled. “Me? I am just someone you will need to teach a lot of things.”


Tomoe blushed, as her heartbeat increased. 'Why is he looking at me like a piece of meat? Like a predator gazing at its prey.'


The young noblewoman, Tomoe, started feeling things that she hadn't felt before. 

Daisuke saw this and thought awkwardly. - 'Why the hell is she looking at me like that? You were just kidnapped, young lady.'
