The Game of a Blood Mage

Chapter 105: Changes in the Wayne Kingdom

***
The Holy Kingdom ended up losing horribly, even the Gods they cherished so much didn’t send their avatars in the mortal world to help them. No matter how much the people prayed.

Alex, the man who had kept quiet most of the war had suddenly made a move and gathered his army which consisted mostly of 20,000 Magicians and 80,000 Earth Golems that compensated for the close-quarters combat. An army of 100,000 was no joke.

Many people thought that he would march such a huge army towards the Wayne Kingdom borders to protect the country.

Upon the Wayne Kingdom capital, the place had been surrounded by many barriers and even though the people were starving, the King still feasted lavishly. The nobles had gathered in the Capital City too and were under the King’s protection.

Within the throne room, the King stood on his throne with two beautiful women to his sides. One was feeding him seedless grapes while the other was holding a huge fan and cooling the King down.

The king himself was a fat man that had triple chins, a bald head, and naive eyes like that of a child. The Nobles were already at court and singing his praises.

“Your Grace, the Legendary Magician, Alex, has gathered his army and is going to fight against the Beast Emperor.”

“As expected of his grace, he was even able to convince a man such as him to go and fight in the war.”

“I can feel it in my soul that we will win your grace.”

The King smiled. “Ah… yes… of course… Alex did that because of me.”

Though he seemed unsure if he should say something like that out loud, seeing everyone around him saying that Alex was doing it for him made the King more daring.

‘With a son-in-law like Alex, no one will dare get in my way. Even the Beast Emperor will be nothing.’ - thought the King, feeling a sense of glee rising in his chest.

Looking around he saw most of his children were here and he couldn’t help but be thankful. The Beast War had been a blessing in disguise as it had stopped the bloody inheritance tradition of the Wayne Kingdom.

 Baam!

Suddenly the doors of the throne room were slammed open and a man, one of the generals of the Kingdom rushed in. He was well built and seemed in his 30s, he was wearing full body armor and his helmet was in his hand.

The Nobles immediately saw this as their chance to suck up to the King and smiled maliciously, just outside of the King’s view as they stared at the kneeling General.

“You dare enter the King’s throne room so brazenly!”

“You should be punished!”

“Even a thousand deaths won’t grieve you of your crimes!”

The General was known as a hard-headed young man and had recently been trying to convince the King to stop his feasts. The people were starving.

“My king! Alex’s army has gathered just outside of the Capital City!” Yelled the man, a terrified look on his face.

“What?!” The King was shocked. “Why is he here?”

“Of course he is here to hear your orders, your grace.” added one of the nobles.

Others were about to agree and try to continue to suck up to the king when a swirl of shadows descended behind the King and it took the form of a silver-haired and red-eyes unnaturally handsome young man. It seemed as if he was hand-made and had no defects on his body.

“Oh~ since when did I start taking orders from you?” questioned Alex as he leaned on the throne chair.

The King burst in cold sweat and the room froze. No one dared to make a move, and Alex had a nonchalant smile on his face. If it wasn’t for his identity, then the people here might assume that he was being friendly.

But even the King, who usually said things without thinking them through and acted like the puppet he was. He was terrified and his teeth chattered against each other as if he was on top of a freezing tundra. “I -I… I am-”

“You? You what?” Asked Alex as he leaned his face next to the fat king and his smile turned malicious. “I think I should remind everyone here what happens when you say empty words all the time.”

“I -I am sorry,” the King apologized, like a kid who was just caught doing a bad deed. Tears came upon the eyes of the royal man as he could feel the grim reaper whispering in his ear.

“Well, I accept your apology, my friend,” Alex’s smile turned back to normal and even the mood around him became calmer.

“Thank-”

“Of course, as long as you abdicate and give the Wayne Kingdom to me.”

“What?!”

One of the guards pulled out his swords. “You dare-”

[Wind Blade]

Fwish!

An invisible blade of air traveled through the air at supersonic speeds and decapitated the guard. His head flew in the air, and everyone’s eyes were glued to it. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

“You think some titles give you power?” asked Alex rhetorically. “Let me show you real power.”

He raised his arm, and within an instant, a giant red magic circle appeared in the ceiling and all of the noblemen and guards in the room got a red magic circle above their heads. No matter what they did, it wouldn’t stop following them.

Alex then snapped his fingers.

*Click!*

Then the room was covered in blood, as the room suddenly turned deadly quiet. Everyone’s heads burst like watermelons, and only the King was left alive. He was in shock, looking at the headless bodies of his daughters and sons.

How could this happen? The Royal Family was something untouchable. No one would dare to directly try and do anything against them.

“Well, I don’t need your permission to take over. I am just informing you of my decision,” Alex announced. The reason he left the King alive was to get the treasure that was hidden in the Kingdom’s vaults, there were bound to be some important and precious items in there.

***
Outside of the palace, Alex’s army had broken through the walls of the Capital City and any Magical Barriers were easily destroyed. Golems walked in tendons through the street and the starving people looked at the creatures made of earth.

The people no longer had the will to be shocked, or surprised and just went along with whatever was done. Twenty thousand magicians covered the sky as they flew on magic circles and none of them could believe what they were seeing. Just a couple of months before, most of them had been normal people, but now they were magicians. A strange potion that Alex gave them had awakened their Mana.

Though most of them didn’t even know anything past the basic spells, quantity can easily overtake quality. Suddenly the teleportation gate in the city was reignited, as people traveled through with carts of food and every other essential thing that might be needed.

Alex stared at this as he sat atop a roof. With the King’s revived corpse next to him. He wasn’t someone who would help people like charity, but right now he needed all of the people he could get his hands on and every person he saved could be another magician added to his army.

His eyes shone for a split second as he looked at the son. He was seeing things further away that no normal person could see. This was a spell called [Cloud View].

**
Alex’s vision changed and he saw a large army of beasts trampling through the Sects and Clans in the Wayne Kingdom. The war had now reached his front gates, but something was worrying him.

Where was the Beast Emperor? He wasn’t with his army and Alex hadn't caught sight of him anywhere.
