In the end, Alex just stood with the undead Wayne King next to him as he observed the capital city. “Monarchy is such a bad ruling system. Only those capable should role, not some halfwit who was born as someone’s son.”
As he said that, he looked back towards the undead Wayne King, and the creature winced back in fear.
“Don’t worry, weakling King. I will take over your Kingdom and make something amazing out of it.” Alex sighed and got up, with a swipe of his hand, the Mana around him moved. Usually, Mana was just a gaseous and sometimes non-physical energy. Yet, even without a magic circle, the mana around him turned into tendrils and grabbed into the undead Wayne King as he flew towards a certain place in the royal palace.
From the Game, Alex remembered that the vault had a couple of dangerous artifacts and even in the Game the Wayne Kingdom’s treasury was raided by a crazy group of plates called the Young Master alliance. It was mostly made of people who had a very strong 1st game character, and for the fun of it made another character.
This was mostly so they could go around bullying people, at least that was the aim of anyone who joined the Young Master Alliance. Just low-leveled players with overpowered gear running around and telling people things like “You are courting death” or “My Nine Sky Pavilion technique is unstoppable”. Usually very cliche lines.
Though Alex never admitted this to anyone else, he had a second character who was part of the Young Master Alliance. After his first game character became the God of Ice, he was raking in a lot of money, but the game was no longer quite as fun as it used to be. So he had the second character just for fun and went around bullying other players to relieve his stress.
Alex chuckled at the memories that he had of the time. It was the most fun he had in the game, and the game developers didn’t do anything about this, even when many new players left due to the Young Master Alliance bullying them until they left the game.
Arriving at the royal palace yard, it was an extravagant garden with silver statues and many rare flowers grown around. But those were not important to Alex as he went towards the road and crouched down.
A silver magic circle appeared below him, and the zombified Wayne King stopped moving as his body was ripped apart and his blood flew.
“Take over the Silver Vault beginning,” muttered Alex as veins popped in his forehead and his red eyes became bloodshot. He was using his body’s lifespan to strengthen the spell, which yielded good results, but Alex knew that soon he would have to change bodies as this one was being broken down. Still, this was no problem for him as a Mage because he could just possess one of the many male homunculi bodies he had hand-made for himself.
Slowly, the silver magic circle all over the yard turned red, which showed that he was taking over a security system that had held together for thousands of years. Also, its power was strengthened with each death of someone from the royal bloodline. For the time the security magic was created it was indeed impeccable.
But to Alex, this was nothing, as Magic had evolved past the over a thousand years since the security circle was made. Something that would be considered groundbreaking back then now was just basic sacrificial and blood magic.
“The conversion in this is horrible, the circle wasn’t even able to absorb the souls correctly. An outdated spell that shows that the Wayne Royal Family never tried to improve itself and became idle, believing that they couldn’t improve this at all,” Alex sighed, and couldn’t help but think just how powerful this country would have been if it was left in the hands of a competent person.
After the silver magic circle became red, it then turned into a sluggish thick liquid that took the form of a ball. Alex put it away in his separate dimension spell, as the ground below him parted, revealing a staircase that led into the darkness.
[Vampire’s Eye]
Two red magic circles appeared in front of his eyes and he was able to see in the dark and detect anything alive down there by seeing its body heat. Alex walked down without any hesitation, and as he did so, it seemed like the staircase never seemed to end.
But with a casual burst of mana, the space around Alex distorted and broke, revealing that it was an illusion. As soon as the illusion broke, hundreds of spells activated and aimed at him, but with a swipe of his hand, all of the Magic Circles broke and exploded.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!...
Due to the explosion, a bright light hit Alex’s eyes which were already closed, having already anticipated this. Suddenly a sweet smell traveled through the air but a small magic circle appeared in his hand as a sphere of air was created around his body, pushing any harmful airborne poisons out of the way.
The sweet smell was that of poison, but Alex already knew of most of the traps here as he recalled the memories his friends in the Young Master Alliance bragged about. Breaking into this place was their biggest achievement.
Still, though, Alex hadn’t participated in the event himself so there were bound to be some traps that even he didn’t know about. But still, he had prepared to the best of his abilities to take this head-on.
The darkness around him seemed to clear away, as the stairs suddenly ended and he saw that he had reached the bottom. Looking around, Alex saw piles of gold.
Still, though he was a little amazed at how the space before him had twisted and created a sensation of teleportation, even though it was more as if the space in front of him had been cut and then mended itself. “Amazing magic, hundreds of years ahead of its time.”
Alex didn’t touch any of the gold coins in the gold piles around him. He could detect that each of those coins was cursed to kill anyone who wasn’t part of the royal family. “That must have taken a lot of time to make.”
By now Alex wasn’t at the level an average explorer would be, where everything around them was incomprehensible and it made them wonder how it happened. But he was different, Alex could analyze the scenarios and be able to guess how they were made and even recreate the whole process, though that would take a lot of time.
After walking past the gold, Alex sees an altar, with a dark pyramid-shaped object the size of someone’s hand on top of it. “Finally,” he muttered. The reason why he even bothered overthrowing the Wayne Kingdom was right in front of him.
[Malicious energy detected in front of you]
[Death aura detected in front of you]
[Divine energy detected in front of you]
Alex dismissed the notification and went forward, putting his hand just above the altar, only an inch away from touching the pyramid. He started muttering words in an ancient language. But suddenly a strong force rippled out of the dark pyramid.
The force pushed Alex back and slammed him into the other side of the chamber.
Baam!!
He spits out blood as he feels his internal organs rip and tear themselves. But Alex was calm, even as his body slumped to the ground and it felt like he had broken through every rib he had.
Souls came out of the dark pyramid and they were all the strong people of the royal family who had died. Even this vault’s creator was amongst them. Hundreds of people stood there and stared down at Alex with malicious eyes.
“This arrogant young man, he doesn't know his place.”
“Breaking past the barrier was commendable, but trying to touch the Pyramid of Todesgott was stupid of him.”
“Well he seems pretty young, so we shouldn't blame him for his immaturity.”
The souls conversed amongst themselves nonchalantly, as if Alex wasn’t a threat to them. Even as he got up, none of them seemed worried. Some amongst them seemed to be cautious, and not say anything, but most of them were not worried. There were hundreds of Legendary Rank Mage and Warriors, what's there to worry about?
Alex smiled at the men and women spirits and smiled. “Do you know what happens when a Soul Mage like I meet ghosts like you?”
“Soul Mage? What Class is that?”
“Probably something that the kid made up, I never heard of it.”
“Heh, he is trying to bluff us. What an annoying bastard, let’s kill him.”
Alex only smiled, unbothered by his opponents' words. He started floating, as his Mana burst out, and by that alone, it was enough to surpass four Legendary Mages alone. Unlike most Mages, Alex had a monstrous amount of Mana as he had used Exp to level up all of the best Mana Training techniques he knew.
He smirked as his being seemed to radiate a sour smell of blood. “You guys are quite arrogant,” Alex stated calmly as a silver-gray magic circle formed in front of him. "Dead people like you should just remain dead."
