2019-09-23 20:06:45 +0000 UTCThey're actually less detailed in some ways. I have a problem with drawing everything at the same detail level, which can become overwhelming with large backdrops. So I'm trying to learn how to do more painterly backdrops where the vagueness of the details creates more sense of complexity and busyness. It's something I have admired in Kannel's work, for example.

Besides, when he's completely blindfolded, a leash is a comfort because he knows to follow the pull of the leash. Without that, he can only respond to to prodding which could come from any direction. The thigh area is covered with an inflation suit, as well. But it's being squished by the tight leather garter straps.
