December Preview and News

Greetings friends-

First of all I want to thank everyone who has continued to support me and my work. You are the fuel that keeps me going and I wouldn't be able to do this without you. I hope you all enjoyed the November releases and as usual I am ready to share next months plans. 

I have done a lot of travelling since my break this summer. This month I was in Frankfurt for Formnext and next month I will be going to Boston for two weeks. I will be continuing to work remotely but I also  wanted to guarantee that you all would get a good amount of models for December just in case anything does not go as planned. So, I contacted my very good friend Morgan Morey (aka Printed Obsession) and I will be sharing two amazing models of his as extra models for December. I will post the models he offers to our page below.

December is going to be a month of big changes. After three and a half years of me keeping my Patreon strong and giving everyone who joins my entire back catalogue, I have decided to change some things for the better. Nothing will affect my current Patrons or those who have supported me all these years. The gray area of creating fan art for profit has been a topic that bothers me a lot and it has  been an excuse some people have used to justify stealing my fanart (that I have sculpted from scratch) then selling it everywhere with the excuse that "it's not mine". So, after careful consideration I have decided that my Patrons will now have early access when it comes to fanart releases. All my previous fanart models will be posted for free on Printables.com starting January 1st and all future fan art will be exclusive for one month (as early access in Patreon) and then released for free. ALL of my original work will remain exclusive for Patrons and for sale in stores as they have always been. This is, in my opinion, the right thing to do regarding fanart. Considering the amount of stress I went through this past summer, this is also the healthier way for me to continue working and to also provide more original content. Considering all current Patrons have access to every single model I have released since 2019, I believe these changes will not affect our current relationship. I have always been as transparent as possible and the new year is a perfect time for me to make these changes that have been heavy on my mind. I will continue to analyze the finer details of how my Patreon will work moving forward, so stay tuned.

Mari Lwyd figure (mint condition, mint partners)

The first written record of the Mari Lwyd is in J. Evans' book from 1800, A Tour through Part of North Wales, although the tradition is best known for its practice in Glamorgan and Gwent. Mari is taken around a village traditionally, often between Christmas Day and Twelfth Night, She is dressed with festive lights and decorations, and is usually accompanied by an ostler, and in some regions like Ystradgynlais in the Swansea Valleys, other folk characters like a jester and a Lady. This brings the tradition closer together with Mummers' Plays, a tradition of performances by the working classes in the 18th century.
