this movie came out in 2004. the home noah renovate he turned into the nursing home so him and allie could stay there in their old age. fun fact, ryan and rachel started dating after the film was made and dated from 2005-2007 and briefly in 2008. when they won best kiss for the notebook at the mtv music awards they had this epic kiss on stage recreating the kiss in the movie that won the award when accepting it. if i recall correctly no one knew they were dating at the time of the awards but they in fact were and it was announced shortly. when filming they actually bickered a lot but like their characters in the movie it turned into a deep passion for each other which i find to be super funny and very sweet. ryan gosling even said something along the lines of the movie introduced him to one of the great loves of his life and that people do them a disservice by assuming they were anything like the people in the movie. then went on to say their love story was a hell of a lot more romantic than that lolol. oh and to zuff's question, i can only assume he's just as smooth in real life because him and eva mendes have been together since 2011 when they met on the set of the place beyond the pines. such a beautiful movie, its a classic for a reason!
