2020-12-12 03:00:28 +0000 UTCATLA is great with storytelling without dialogue. The story-boarders and animators are amazing. This is the first time Toph sees Aang in the Avatar State. Up until this point she's only known silly fun carefree Aang. You can see the fear on her face when he enters the state. Emphasizing how terrifying the Avatar State really is. Its so insignificant in the mix of everything else, but nothing is half done with this show

2020-12-11 20:48:43 +0000 UTCI don't care how many times I see these episodes, the last scene in this one always makes me teary. Katara is always either the cause of Aang's Avatar state or she's the solution to him coming out of it. And I couldn't imagine if I was 100 years old, and almost everyone from my previous life is gone, except for my lifetime companion....and then to lose HIM too? I'd be beside myself with anger and worry. That's why these episodes always hit in the gut.
