Breaking Bad 2x12 Reaction

Let's be honest about this, regardless if it was murder, kill, intentional, unintentional. Jane and Jesse would've gotten themselves killed (or worse) with all that money in their hands. Jane's influence wasn't good for Jesse (Walter wasn't good influence either) so either way, there's only a shitty road that Jesse was walking down on. And I appreciate these ladies understand that Walter did have good intentions of helping Jesse and that their relationship is so complex. They have both bad and good moments.

Danny

I don't think I fully agree with you on this one. Yes, he broke into their house, but his intention was not to kill Jane. The difference between kill and murder is the intention, the planning. Walt didn't plan on it, he wanted to wake Jesse up and talk to him. As a result of his action (shaking Jesse) Jane started to choke, then saw what he did by accident and decided not to save her. Only when she started choking he realized the opportunity and decided to let her die. It's like the difference between purposely driving with your car full speed into a person walking in purpose to kill them, or running over them by accident. You didn't mean to, and you see what happened, then realize - hey, it's very convenient for me, I'm not gonna call any ambulance or help for this person, even though I could and it was my fault they got hit. Hope I explained myself clearly, English is my second language (:

It is murder. People seem to disregard the fact that he didn’t just happen upon them. He broke into their dwelling and as a direct result of his actions she died.

"Boob... can't you talk about this some othertime?!" Lmao I'm dead. I rewound that ten times

Haha love the Ozark shoutout about hiding the money in the walls. Such an amazing show so excited for season 4! Hope to see your reactions as well! :)

Great reaction. Breaking Bad is my favorite show of all time, and what I really appreciate about it is the amount of grey area when it comes to character's decisions and getting to see those choices through, for better or worse. Characters see those effects on other characters and also themselves as the series plays out. You get to know these characters so intimately during the show that you begin to understand why they make the choices they make, even if you don't agree with them. I personally hated Walter for this, but totally love seeing everyone discuss, interpret and rationalize the decisions made on this show. It only gets better and better - it can be emotionally draining, but hope you can enjoy.

It’s crazy that the Hitchcock Rule of 3 applied so well here. We saw Jane turn Jessie so he wouldn’t vomit. And if you pay close attention we saw Walt turn Holly in the same manner. That establishes that Walt knew what to do. But in his calculation he figured he should let her die so as to spare Jesse in the near term. But Walt also doesn’t consider how his decisions have far reaching consequences. Like one you will see by the end of this season

Joel

yeah if he didn't move her she would have been fine, but he didn't so that on purpose so the moral conundrum for us is that he didn't move her, the show really did this so well that i can understand every opinion someone would have for this

First of all - great reaction as always, I enjoy your videos so much! (bb&avatar, which is a great balance to the darkness of this show haha). Second - if you rewatch the episode, you see there are 2 signs (Holly the baby & Jesse, both being taken care of and careful to stay on the side so they won't choke). And the most important one, which I missed first time watching: Walter is the reason Jane moved from side to laying on her back. She's (sadly) an experienced drug user, we see she takes care of Jesse and knows very well how to position herself so she won't choke. So Walter is the reason she choked, AND he didn't stop it when he saw it happening. In my opinion it is killing, not murder but killing indeed. Was it justified, that's a whole other question...

that last scene was so hard to watch, we were speechless for a while

I’m anxious to see your reaction to this episode. Bryan Cranston said that the ending scene was the hardest thing he’s had to film. He said he kept thinking of his own daughter and it broke his heart.
