@Rob Church All I get from that is that the sort of people who judge someone as ‘missing the point’ for being behind the ‘wrong’ character are people who simply can't empathise with different ways of enjoying fiction. You don't have to miss the point to back Walt; you just have to comprehend that how one enjoys fiction isn't some sort of morality litmus test. Understanding the point and backing the character(s) that take the negative brunt of said point are by no means mutually exclusive.

@Rob Church Idk if Rorschach should be in the picture. He’s not necessarily good or worthy of being idolized but he’s not bad either. I feel like watchmen was about the contrasting philosophies of Rorschach and Veidt and the idea was that neither of them were completely right or completely wrong. Also sorry for the random watchmen comment if you haven’t ever read/watched it lol.

That "he's luckier than you" line completely changed the way I watched this show. I had to go back and watch it a 3rd time after I caught that.

@TeddyBearBonfire Look I love him as a character, he is one of the best every written, but a lot of posts about Walt fall into this zone: https://imgur.com/a/Qth3q3D

Remember that people throughout the episode were suggesting to Walt to kill Jesse. Saul and Skyler, but he kept refusing. Now, Jesse said "No, asshole. I'm gonna hurt you where you really live."
Previously, Walt sent Hewel to check out his school to see if he went after his son, but said "I can't imagine Jesse doing this..."
Now he hears Jesse saying "I'll hurt you where you really live." Maybe Walt thinks that means going after his family. After all, he poisoned someone Jesse loved. He may think it's equal payback.
So, after all the resistance, I think it makes sense for Walt to finally give in, and call Todd to take out the Rabid Dog. After all, in Walt's eyes, Jesse is acting rabid now.....

@Rob Church Obviously the writer's have an intent behind how they depict the characters and who is more sympathetic and such, but backing the villain when the villain is well-written is a great luxury to have in fiction. :) Nothing in who one backs necessarily says anything of one's understanding of the piece.
For some reason fans of this show in particular get all masturbatory with the morality, as though they feel backing a specific horse makes them superior to those who back other horses. At the end of the day, it's just an excellent and exhilarating work of fiction. Pay no mind to those who judge you for who you're most invested in, and don't judge others for who they're most invested in—there's nothing more cringe-worthy than judging on criteria such as those.
(although that said, I certainly don't agree with OP in this instance)

I am not worshiping Walt, just stating the obvious from the show. For the record, I stopped thinking Walt was a good person in episode one (you know...when he started making meth). I stopped liking him when he killed Mike (not because I "worship" Mike, but simply because there was no reason to kill Mike). Anyway, I think Jessie should have killed Walt, not snitched on him, or burn his house down, or threaten to hit him "where he really lives." All of 3 of these things could affect his children, especially the last one. Is it so strange to suggest that if the man saves your life a couple times, maybe you own him the courtesy of killing him directly, not potentially destroy his family? You all are ruthless and I believe Breaking Bad made you this way.

I mean, that's entirely untrue and the writers have said as much. I don't know why you are having such a difficult time. I bet you think Travis Bickle was the good guy in Taxi Driver.

@Rob Church You clearly dont understand it either because the show was not written to pick sides on whos right and wrong. At this point in the show if you think Walt is the villain then you completely missed the point.

Dude stop worshipping Walt, its so cringe-y and if you are still on his side at this point, you are the one who doesnt understand the show and the writers intention.

When Walt took out the 2 gang bangers he clearly cared about Jesse. He even let Jane die to help Jesse. But he only replaced Gale with Jesse to keep Jesse from going after Hank.

By your logic, Jorge, if you were being stalked by someone dangerous, you would have no choice but to show them appreciation and loyalty. Your stalker risked everything, more than once, to save you from your significant other. And sure, your stalker poisoned your pet, but if your stalker wanted your pet dead, it would be dead. In fact, your stalker was genuinely shocked that their friend told them to cut you out of their life, because your stalker loves you that much. And how do you show your appreciation? By calling the cops.

jesse went and wanted to burn walts house down cause walt could have killed a child, that was jesse's tipping point, he was ready to leave town having said nothing to hank before, and then he learned about the kid which is not something he could let go and i wpuld argue that he shouldn't let go, just because walt is gonna protect jesse doesn't mean jesse should owe him loyalty even after finding out walt poisoned a child that jesse cared for just so that he would be able to manipulate him

Agreed, that line was loaded with so much dramatic irony. And it similar in impact to the line, "someone has to protect this family from the man who protects this family."

It's like you girls love Jessie so much that you refuse to see what the writers tried to tell you early in this episode. Walter could not even consider the option to hurt Jessie. Walter has risked everything, more than once, to save Jessie. Walter poisoned Brock, but if Walt wanted Brock to die, that kid would be dead. As for Jessie... Walter got angry at the idea that Saul suggested hey kill Jessie like Old Yeller (second time Saul has suggested to kill Jessie). Also, Walter was genuinely shocked that Skylar told him to kill Jessie. How does Jessie show his appreciation? Jessie came to burn his family home to burn it. Jesse turned into a snitch. Jessie just threatened Walt on the phone and put him on edge. He broke Walt, and Walt obviously called Todd to put a hit out on Jessie. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

yeah, i think we mentioned a couple of times that walt is the only thing jesse really has and that's what made all the times walt manipulated jesse so much worse for us

Ironically, Walt is the only person that still cared about Jesse. Hank only sees him as a tool to get to Walt, hell he even hates Jesse for his past involvement anyway. Skyler sees him as a threat, a rabid dog that needs to be removed. It's kinda sad that the only person that actually cared for Jesse was Walt (and yes even at the end scene, you could see the pain and hesitation in his eyes). Even after Jesse came and literally threw gasoline over his house, he tried to convince himself that Jesse changed his mind and he could talk it out with him. If it was anyone else he would've already ordered a hit instantly.

“You two guys are just guys, mr white, he’s the devil. He’s smarter than you, he’s LUCKIER than you. Whatever you think is gonna happen the exact reverse opposite is gonna happen.”
I love that line because it shows how overwhelming and scary the idea of fighting Walt is for Jesse. He feels like there’s no way to win, even if he out smarts and out plays Walt at every turn that Walt will still magically come out on top, because throughout the entire show that’s what Jesse has seen happen. It’s like Walt posses some indescribable trait where the universe is always on his side.
