If you like character driven shows you should watch Berserk either the 97 anime or the 3 movies which cover the exact same thing. The character building in that series is second the NONE. RIP Miura you will be missed.

Watching the OVA Isle's Notebook will ruin the suspense of season 2. The majority of people watched season 2 without watching that OVA or watching the OVA afterwards. Please don't watch this OVA beforehand.

I don’t want to get into spoilers so girls don’t read this but that’s like the core ability of the FT in a way. Even if he can’t yet, she knows the ability of the FT. Hence, “rumble rumble” I’ll say to try and avoid spoilers. She’s aware of that and aware of the innate hardening ability no? That was always my understanding. By innate ability I mean the one that allows for and created “rumble rumble”.

I binged Season 1 in a few days. Was really sad afterwards that there wasn't more...but then 4 years passed and I completely forgot about AoT. So it wasn't too hard. (I didn't even look up news about it which I do for other things I'm anticipating...and which usually makes the wait worse.)

I thought it was more that he was pissed at Eren about what Armin said: Eren didn't stop Annie from crystalizing (not like he could have done much anyway even if he tried). But your idea sounds right too. I never thought that could have been the reason he looked back too.

Girls now before the second season should see the OVA of Season 1: it is composed of 3 episodes: "Ilse's diary" (Important due to introducing relevant points in the plot; based on chapter 18.5 of the manga), "An Unexpected Visitor" (comedy OVA based on the fake previews) and "Difficulty" (an original anime story). OVA "No regrets": composed of 2 episodes, based on a visual novel / spin-off manga. Important because events and locations arise that appear later in other Seasons. :)

Weren’t they fusing? I thought she was using his hardening to form her cocoon by fusing somehow, that’s why right after that line it shows her cocoon forming, no?

I think the "they're fusing?" line is just armin's thoughts, they weren't actually fusing he just didnt know what was happening and thought that when it was instead just annie crystallizing herself

They should start with Season 2. They can watch the OVA's like around Season 3 Part 2. I know it's long but, some of the ovas are a bit spoilery so they should just watch it until they finish S3 Part 2 (like maybe halfway through that season at least). Just my thought as someone who has read the manga and watched the anime.
