2021-07-03 07:16:17 +0000 UTCThe real tragedy of why Isabel and Farlan died was ultimately because Levi still didn't trust their abilities and wanted to keep them safe. He originally didn't even want them to go on the mission but they convinced him to let them go. Then when it came to complete their mission he made them stay behind... which is why they ended up getting killed by a titan. Him trying to protect his friends ended up getting them killed; if they stayed with him they would have lived. Levi feels like nothing he does makes a difference to protecting people which is why he tells Eren to believe in your friends because the worst thing that can happen is they die because you don't.
