Here, you've officially met a non-binary person. As for Hanji, I get why most translations went that way (esp in 2013), but it's always cool to see a person outside the gender binary not treated like weird thing (Hanji's weird, just for other reasons)

Well, never seen a single non-binary person alive to tell, so in my reality it's definitely not normal. There are only two genders as it always has been. You can think of it what you want, but I don't view this kind of opinions as bigotry, sorry

Opinions and views are there to be challenged and reviewed, otherwise nobody would change their minds on anything at all. "Feeling weird" about non-binary people or those with ambiguous genders is effectively calling people who fall into that category weird, and that in itself is effectively based on bigotry. Culture and tradition is not an excuse to be bigoted.

Well, you have your opinion and I have mine. I do not judge you for having yours and I do not tell you to reevaluate anything, just saying that I, personally, do not like it. Also, for example, in my country and culture most of the people would feel weird about stuff like this, so it's also a matter of perspective, so I don't feel the need for additional introspection around this topic

The manga absolutely did not portray Hange as female at all. The author specifically requested the English translators to avoid gendered pronouns when talking about Hange. Also, if something as innocuous as a character being non-binary – or at least ambiguous – is "weird" and something you "do not like," maybe some introspection is needed on your part.

I binged this whole ass anime in a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The suspense and tension maintained no matter how fast I was getting through the episodes. I think it really depends on the person.

Even in manga they always portraited her as a female, it's only from one little interview with the author it was almost as "think of Hanji as u want", because some fans were really pushing this idea. Idk, for me it's really weird tbh, and definitely I, personally, do not like this

yeah I also thought it would make more sense after season 2 given the events of season 3, but oh well I don't really mind either way

I personally think the OVA’s should be watched after season 2 as it more closely correlates with the events and the characters arcs that happen in season 3

Something that's really cool about the Manga is that Hanji's gender is purposely left ambiguous! Unfortunately that's a lot easier to do in Japanese than in English and some other languages so for the anime they made her a female :)

Cant wait for you to see the background on Levi in the "No Regrets" OVA if someone wants to give the correct place to watch the OVA in relation the the upcoming events that would be great. EDIT: Upon doing my own research I feel (others my disagree) that you should watch the OVA at the end of Episode 16 Season 1 as it ties in nicely with upcoming events.. other people watch at the end of season 1 but for full emotional impact etc I feel personally that this should be the place where you watch it. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE

I think you need to find the good pace to watch the show. Binging it will not be good if you want to enjoy as much as possible and keep the tension and the suspens. On the the other hand, I want you to watch as many episode as possible to see your reactions
