2021-05-11 22:09:21 +0000 UTCI think as long as Wall Sina Goodbye’s parts 1 and 2 are after season 2 (as one character gets a certain letter from another character that’s a pretty incriminating spoiler for the sender of the letter) and Mikasa’s is done after season 3 pt 1. Personally I think Levi’s Ova’s are best done after season 2 as well as it beautifully ties in with Levi and Erwin’s relationship and character arcs in season 3, but that third point is a personal one.

I don't think it matters with how pointless both OVAs are haha, I sort of dislike both (I'm not even a fan of No Regrets, as Ilse's Notebook is the only one that's from the source material so it's the only one I think needs to be watched but I put No Regrets and Lost Girls as recommended since most people give them a viewing and I didn't want to project my own opinion onto the consensus)

Also, it's a small thing, but "A Sudden Visitor" should technically be watched before "Distress", since it came out first, but the latter is listed first in the guide. Not that it would really affect much, just being pedantic :P

2021-05-08 09:22:34 +0000 UTCLooking at that guide now I feel like I should have been more firm about "Distress" and "A Sudden Visitor". I didn't want to write them off because some people probably enjoy them but really you can skip them and nothing of value is lost, lol. One is basically a bunch of one-shot comedy gags the author drew put together into a full episode and the other doesn't add to the overall story either. EDIT: For the background on why they even exist, basically the anime blew up when it first released but the studio that made it had their hands full with other things, so S2 didn't come out for 4 years after. So in the years in between, rather than making other episodes there's a heap of side stories because the production company wanted to milk whatever they could (There's even a whole side-anime called Attack on Titan Junior High where the characters are chibi versions of themselves going to school instead and it's 12 episodes of parody)

And I know there are some that people say you should wait longer for, but that makes no sense and isn't the order that is intended. The first one that they'll watch has the same Opening as the first half of Season 1, so I think it's safe to watch it before Season 2.

They do contain spoilers for season 2 (and one of them takes place in the middle of season 3) so to avoid finding out any big twists ahead of time I would recommend waiting until the end of season 2 to watch them

You WILL get a steady drip of answers to help you understand things better, but the more things start making sense, the more you'll come up with even more theories.
