yeah if they'd openly offered their resources to [spoiler] a year or two ago and had become a protectorate state they could have avoided conflict altogether. marley just come out of a difficult war with the middle east and never would have been able to challenge another large nation like [spoiler] especially with all the modern weapons they would've been able to build with paradis' resources.

even if eren didn't do what he did marley would've attacked them full force with or without the support of the rest. good luck trying to fend off a million soldiers, 4 titans and hundreds of airships with not even 30.000 soldiers and 2 titans. paradise would've been destroyed. What would be more tragic would be if "niku" was actually a nickname for "Niccolo" that only the two of them were aware of. I love how this series has so many details and nuances, that it makes rewatching it many times quite worth it, and you can pretty much debate it and reinterpret it forever. That's the mark of a great work of art.

@Mohammed Al Jamal Well obviously in our scenario, everybody else (Conny, Eren etc) thought she said "meat" but what she actually meant to say was "Nicolo" but she couldn't even finish her word. Also we the audience were also meant to think that she meant "meat" at first, since she loves food and meat and all, and that's why it was poignant that her last word was "meat". But later when we found out that her lover was named "Nicolo" that adds an extra twist and layer to it. In art, there could be additional layers to a scene or a line you know. Things sometimes can have two different meanings and are left intentionally ambigious. This is not unheard of lol. It's perfectly in the realm of possibility that she meant to say Nicolo and I personally prefer to believe that

FilmBuff literally cried at the end of 4x4 and 4x7 which only someone that truly gets this show would. He shows a lot of emotions. He also cried in 3x17

a lot of ppl kept debating about this, but she obviously said "meat" because when Eren heard her last word, he remembered the "stolen meat" scene and giggled. If Sasha meant Niccolo, Eren wouldn't giggle and the stolen meat scene would've been something else.

If I remember correctly, Isayama was pretty upset with his work during the Royal Government arc. I think he's always had a say in how the anime adapts the manga (more so than other authors), but he was VERY involved during Season 3 Part 1, in order to fix what he considered to be his own "bad writing".

Yes, hope the girls see this. Personally I prefer to believe that Sasha was calling out Niccolo's name. Because her previous line right before "niku" was "Are we eating soon?" like as if she's talking to Niccolo and asking him if the food is ready yet.

@Robert H. I disagree with you about Filmbuff. He also shows a lot of emotions and perfectly gets what kind of emotion a particular scene tries to convey. For example, him crying over the ending scene of 4x7 when Reiner transformed (like LM did), is alone proof of that. While a lot of reactors were getting more hyped towards that scene (which is not wrong) or downright annoyed that Reiner is interfering Eren, Filmbuff and LM's reactions were more profound and that's why I love them

I also like GoodWinTV a lot, but he very often reacts to sad and emotional scenes with a lot of humor. I like that, sometimes you just need that in such a tragic story, but in general I prefer LM's way. The analytical and emotional is just great. With Filmbuff, for example, it bothers me that he can hardly show emotions. When it comes to tragic moments, he only sees the twist, which he incorporates into his theories, which are pretty darn good, by the way.

I have to say. I have watched at least 10 channels watch the show from beginning till end and some of them even were spot on with their knowledge and theories. But no one has understood the characters better than you guys. I have watched the whole series so many times now (thanks to the react channels) and the way you look at the characters is how the writers intended them to be portrayed. The expression you were looking for at 6:30 is "shine a light", though honestly English is weird enough sometimes that "shine a mirror" sounds like it could be real too.

when you are talking about the scouts beating Gabi & Falco you seem to forget that at this point Gabi was still armed with a rifle AND everyone was full on adrenaline. that stuff... well, not exactly MAKES you do things that you thought you wouldn't do, but it enables it. when you are under it's effect, you are extremly focused on the object/person that created the adrenaline rush within you. it is almost impossible not to hit the person with the rifle (or run away, but in that airship that wasn't an option).

When you were talking about punching Gabi and Falco, you seemed to have a lot of faith in humanity. Because I remember every episode of Attack on Titan trending at the time, and I remember people making memes and gifs of Gabi getting pummeled because they thought it was funny. Most children who watch Attack on Titan do not have a strong level of empathy and do not fully comprehend the plot. Big monster combat is fun for them, and Levi is a badass. This show's fan base, in my opinion, is extremely divided.

Also Reiner's backstory is a lot more detailed and has better pacing in the manga. Overall the manga is even more complexed and nuanced than the anime, especially when it comes to the politics and character writing. WIT really has done Mikasa dirty with the amount of dialogue they have taken away from her compared to manga lol.

I just love the scenes with Historia in the manga. Her inner conflict comes out much more. And especially in Chapter 66, I would have loved to see the scene with the fence in the anime. This would have explained better what it means to be influenced by King Fritz.

I can only recommend you to read the Attack on Titan Manga Chapter 50/51 - 66 online (particularly Chapter 51-56, 65, 66). It just gives so much more depth to the characters and shows how much episode 2 x 12 and the first 7 episodes in season 3 left out and changed. Especially Historia's thoughts become much more understandable through additional conversations and events in the manga. Here a good website for this (Opens this via PC.
