Ah it pains me to see Hange feel unworthy of inheriting Erwin's position. As much as she seemed somewhat confident when she was telling Armin after 'Midnight Sun' that this is now their burden to carry, she still can do only so much especially when she has so little information to work with. The only thing she can do is revert to her "Hange ways" of calling Eren a 'perv' when he scares her in order to relieve the tension; this is indeed Hange's coping mechanism.

i agree! so many characters in this series suffer from really bad trauma due to the things they go through in their cruel reality. armin from eating bert and "replacing erwin", mikasa's trauma bond with eren, jean from marco's death and being a killer, reiner from his guilt, heck even connie and his loss of family and reiners/erens' betrayal. and i feel like this season everyone finds closure to their traumas one way or another when they come to a point of desperation for their own survival. also love how morally, every character is pretty gray and how everyone has a different perspective on life.

Yeah S4 is really about delving into all of the characters' darkest struggles and insecurities and pushing them to their psychological limits

mikasa being torn between two opposite perspectives. one being armins' and the other eren's so many watchers go through the same things she does. same with the flashbacks, you'll notice it's always mikasa that's thinking back to those memories like in this episode. IT's rlly interesting to see armin lose faith in eren but mikasa keeps hers not bc she supports eren bc she sees the good in ppl and is quite obviously not ready to let go of the ppl she loves. adn historia being pregnant for her to survive is so morbid, there's just a huge shift in tone ever since eren dipped to marley

Canonically, Eren is only 5 inches taller than Hange. It's just some weird perspective thing to make him look imposing. And also, Levi is only 5'3" (160cm). https://i.redd.it/a2j99of5iqe61.png

Also since Lady Azumabito knowing of the ODM gear is never explained I'll tell you that they cut it out from the anime in this episode. Zeke goes on to mention how if they know about that gear they must be spying on Marley closely, thats all.

Just incase it confused you or you guys think that it came out of nowhere, the tattoo on Mikasa's arm is initially shown in S1E6 in the manga but the studio at the time decided tattoos on children are too inappropriate so they didnt put it in the episode.

Just in case, the ODM Zeke had was the one he took from Mike in 2x01 Mikasa symbol is different from the manga, from what i know, in Japan is not well seen a child with a Tatto, so in Season 1 we see Mikasa's mom showing her an embroidered cloth, and saying that she should pass this "tradition" to her childs. It's actually this Tatto that she showed today and explained. Also, in the Manga she's covering her wrist all the time so no one can see it. Did you remember that Zeke took Mikes ODM gear in season 2 episodes 1 when Mike was killed well if you did then you will have recognized the importance of when Zeke had an ODM gear he showed to the Hizuru lady in this episode. It all tied back to season 2.
