Death Note Episode 5 Reaction

Death Note Episode 5 Reaction

Comments

I don't think there's explanation about how changing name officially or unofficially affect the effectiveness of death note. However, one thing for certain is, with Shinigami eyes, you will see the name that's needed to kill that person, be it a name they're born with or a new official name. Hope this helps!

L is definitely no hero. If he was a true defender of justice like he says he is in the anime then why does he only cherry pick cases that are interesting to him? Not out of self rightousness, but only because its a game to him. The main counterargument I hear is that L's actions justify his means... but how does that make him better than Light? Light sought out to fix the world through unsavory means but L has blood on his hands too. Is L justified just because he has killed less people? A criminal is still a criminal and L fits that description.

It's good that we dont know your names, otherwise we could write it down...

Lmao, the moment they switched from "oh no don't kill him" to GO ON WRITE HIS NAME! Pure gold:D

There are too many hints and spoilers in the comments this time please don’t read if it’s not too late.

There are people who root for Kira. I was surprised by that. But it shows where people stand on ethics just because they are the main character and we follow their story. It's a bit like Walter White from Breaking Bad (although he's more complex).

I have some concerns with how you actually wished for Raye Penber to die and you were fine with Light killing him because he was a bit disrespectful to his fiancé but also since he literally died there is danger in hunting Kira and he does not want to put her life at risk. If we were to start killing people who said something disrespectful to woman from now on don’t you see the problem with that? He hadn’t even committed a crime if we are to go with that logic then what? So let’s start there we kill anyone who says something disrespectful to a woman how many people would then start dying and how is it fair to kill someone for that? It isn’t even a crime he hasn’t killed anyone or robbed anyone etc he just said something lowly and dumb but for understandable reasons. (He doesn’t want her to risk her life) Maybe you remember Paku from Avatar he also had sexist customs which had gotten over to him but he changed. So were you for Paku to die since he was pretty much a sexist asshole to Katara. And Raye wasn’t even a sexist. And lastly you basically say don’t cry over him when his fiancé is sad over his death. We don’t know anything about their relationship but it’s very possible they have a good relationship that is working in that case she lost someone she loved. But we don’t know i just don’t understand how you say don’t be sad that he died when we don’t know anything about them. Don’t take anything I said out of context what he said was definitely shitty but words do not equal he can’t have had a loving relationship with his fiancé or that he as a person is a piece of shit and it definitely doesn’t mean that he deserves to die. It just means he has to change if he holds those values. And please don’t go accusing me that I’m probably just defending him because I’m like him or something because I suspect I might get a comment like that I don’t support what he thinks just that your reaction to him imo was a bit over top. This wall of text can be seen as my case for Raye penber and that he doesn’t deserve death just change. 😆

Hey we know each other by now right Tom. 😝 So can I please ask you to delete your comment I am really trying to make it so they go in completely blind for each episode with no expectations

Melkor

@LM reactions Don’t read the comments replying to the top comment by Marlon. In one of the many replies below his comment there is a spoiler. You can read the top comment from Marlon but not any of the replies to his comment.

Melkor

Please delete your comment before they see it this just gives them expectations

Let's imagine that no one stops Kira, what would happen? Criminals who have committed horrendous crimes would die first, then those of lesser rank would come: robbery, disorderly conduct, etc. Kira would realize that the evils of the world do not subsist in society but in those who run it and she would begin to kill the heads of the system, maybe things would change or maybe not, but what is better? Live in the shadow of a moral dictator or let the current (corrupt) justice system do a lousy job? If you don't commit crimes, why would you be afraid to go out on the street? Thinking that killing is absolutely bad is just as black and white as thinking that there are good guys and bad guys in the world.

With your question about the names, I'm pretty sure it comes up but it's been a while since I've watched this I will say the info cards in the middle of the episode are interesting. sometimes it's stuff you know but sometimes new information. whoever edits episodes it should try to remember the rule on that screen and if it's something interesting bring it up in the next episode

tom

Light wrote that Raye Pember would die after writing the names of the agents and his superior. When Raye wrote his superior's name, it was next to a description that says basically: "Dies after sending everybody a list of the agents. Each agent was written next to a description that says they die of heart attacks.

You probably know this, but I would recommend not reading replies to a comment that has a bunch of replies even on Patreon (there's spoilers in one of the comment threads)

tom

Doesn't Japan have a problem with extremely high guilty conviction rates for crimes? I wonder if it's a commentary on that

tom

I cannot wait for their episode 7 reaction.. it will be a turning point for sure

tom

I think it's interesting that this show seems more about plot than character development, which is a change for your shows.

Kolton Nay

No, I'm like 99% sure they mentioned it when they went over that rule is that he can only control them within their life span time. So if the guy was meant to die in 2 days, he can only control them up to those 2 days.

Danny

What I'd like to know is if Light can temporarily save a dying person by writing a different time and cause of death in the notebook. I don't know why he would, but who knows. It could come in handy.

Jacob

Pd: Love your reactions

Arnold

Not gotta lie, at first I had to carefully repeat and listen to their names about 10 times before I knew it.

Arnold

Episode 7 is gonna hurt them like a mf.

Andy

If you noticed, the guy he killed at the coffee shop was merely accused of sexual assault but he wasn't convincted because of lack of evidence. So we don't know if the guy is even guilty. Which goes to show, Light doesn't really care that much about who he kills.

You're 3 weeks late.

What Ryuk said in Ep1 was: At the end, I will write your name in my notebook. L doesn't know if Kira is in the police or no, he just shorted down the leak information to a max of 5 people.

Mati D.

You guys should watch this in dub it's one of the best dubbed anime ever!

Kloste2023

During 3 months i believed her name was Helena xD

Arcaneatq

What? Sure, L bends the rules every now and then because he isn't as straight-laced as someone like Soichiro. But at the end of the day, Light is a monster and L is nothing like him. Equating them in this way is just very dishonest.

Happy days

Raye was a good man. Y’all cold hearted. Also L kills any criminal as well to get close to Kira. Light and L both kill without hesitation.

Happy Thursday everyone!!!
