2021-07-24 11:39:11 +0000 UTCunfortunately Japanese culture takes molesting, groping and sexual assault in general very lightly so that probably explains why the scene comes across the way it did I once saw a reaction to the next episode where, upon Armin is crying and throwing up, and asking Mikasa "did you have to go through this too?" the reactor assumed Armin was traumatised from that experience. of course he's saying that about having to kill someone (LM have already seen the next episode so I'm not spoiling dw), but it made me realise how sad it is that the show just downplays how Armin was molested, playing it for laughs and acting like it's no big deal
