One can’t live without the other raava light started growing back in jinora, she has a strong connection to the spirits which will show more in season 3

I will never understand how Toph metal bending out of nowhere after no one could do it for all time isn't questioned by avatar fandom but this finale gets all the scrutiny. I always thought Jinora was goodness and light personified and the litttle she had left helped korra "find the light in the dark." The theme of the whole episode and much of the season. And the teapot aspect is something i learned after which made it make more sense. I really don't think its as unreasonable as ppl think it is. Anyhow season 3 is incredible

Love the reaction! I feel like people don't give Korra enough credit b/c to say Jinora beat vatuu is wrong just like how Aang had help from Toph Sokka and Katara when it came to his battle but the only difference is people with say Aang won that fight. Also Jinora is powerfulll!!

I'm glad you guys liked this season and this last episode in particular. The severing of the connection to the past avatars is what seems to give the most visceral negative response for people who loved AtLA but don't like Korra. What I find even worse are the people who blame Korra for it - like, she did everything she could possibly do to stop Unavaatu, it wasn't HER fault that the connection was broken. When I first watched, I also thought that they'd restore the connection in a later season, so we'll just have to see if that ends up happening or not. ;) I feel like I had very similar thoughts to both of you after this season: there were a few moments that are a little shaky and not very well explained that make it feel very Deus Ex Machina, but overall it was pretty good. I really liked that you picked up on the fact that it's not like Vaatu is really gone, at SOME point he must come out of Raava like she did out of him. Also, there are a ton of "Korrasami" shippers in this fanbase, and your mention of it is sure to make them very happy!

I've never heard this before and it's definitely an interesting idea. Is it head cannon/fan theory though? I'm pretty sure exactly HOW Jinora did what she did has never been revealed, and that the creators themselves have said they don't really know.

Few things, Firstly keep in mind that it's Harmonic convergence so all spiritual energy is massively heightened. And in the avatar verse these events are a big deal, you can think of how much fire benders increase during Sozins commit, Harmonic convergence is a spiritual equivalent that only takes place once every 10,000 years. Jinora appeared through Astral Projection. Rava was never destroyed despite what Vatulok was saying. Rava had already established and it was re-itterated in this episode that they can no exist without each other. This is reflected through Iroh's wisdom "shine light on them" and "If you look for the light you can often find it , but if you look for the dark that is all you'll ever see" Jinora in this instance a source of pure good, during harmonic convergence was able to be the light and show that Rava was not destroyed.

Maybe they are getting disappeared and she'll be like oh i didn't know.. 🀦

Jinora went and got the teapot that Iroh had. It's the same teapot that Wan carried Raava in for months. If you remember, Iroh said it still had Raava's light in it. She used that to reveal the light that was still connected to Raava.

Jordan LeDoux

so she basically fused with a spirit like and did with the moon

BOBBY

i love how they are coming up with theories and I'm over here with my coffee like omg yoll not ready for book 3

GodKingSosa

lol

GodKingSosa

yes, thats what I had always thought. Why else would they mention it again with Iroh at the tea party.

I think Jinora was supposed to be the catalyst to regrow the light spirit while harmonic convergence was still happening. I don't know exactly what she did or realized that would make Raava reappear, but it wouldn't be the first time the spirits elected someone to help them. I think the moon spirit knew that Zhao would try to kill it when Zhao accessed the spirit library years before maybe right around when Yue was born. We knew that Koh knew about the moon spirit being in trouble since he warned Aang. I think the moon spirit basically invested in Yue by making her body another one of the possessed mortal forms of the spirit that would be capable of giving life back to the primary mortal form (the Koi fish) in an exchange. Unfortunately, not enough hints were given by the writers for us to conclude that this is what they did with Jinnora and obviously Jinnora did not trade mortality but rather regrew Raava inside Vaatu supposedly without being possessed and without being entwined with some special realization.

Korra just got lucky people's faces didn't start disappearing after she left the portals open.

Jacob

Jinora is holding Wan's teapot which had a little bit of light inside.

I think it would have been better if Jinnora brought the dragon that appeared when Korra was lost and needed help in the spirit world. It would have made a lot of sense, cause the dragon was literally the spirit of light and it would make sense if it could reincarnate Rava. PLUS it would emphasize Jinnora's connection with spirits(they would have shown how she interacts, cooperates, and guides the spirit to Korra). I didn't understand the "I'm an angel now" move. Like wtf even was that?! If there is anybody who read or heard an official explanation, can you please tell me, what was it about?

Stiven Goldrin

Obviously she wasn't the main character, but as far as I'm concerned, she was the "titular" character. Janet Varney did a great job, because Becca was insufferable.

Jacob

This was the season when I stopped watching it live. I was so upset that the past lives were disconnected for good

TheCreepyGuy

Yeah I also think they should have dropped the fact that raava could be ripped out during harmonic convergence to the viewers, but I guess they wanted the surprise factor.

G

Kinda random, but Lola has mentioned she has seen the show You're the Worst, and Korra's voice actor played Becca in that show.

The Greg

I don’t accept this season. I don’t accept the disjointed storylines/convenience of everything/giant spirit kaiju battle/severing of the connection to the past avatars. This season didn’t happen.

Olid

thats the main thing i didnt like about this season, how did Jinora save the fucn world and how?! pls explain LMFAO

botchie

There was definitely a missed opportunity for jinnora to learn something about that ''light spirit'' in the spirit library, Then it would not have felt so convenient.

wade

you have to give the writers a lot of credit for shaking up the lore in this season. I agree with your guys’ sentiment that parts of the fight was too convenient, but severing the connection to past lives is equally inconvenient, so I think it balances out

Clarence Alvarez

Ya’ll are gonna enjoy the next season 100x more than this one.
