2021-08-13 18:33:27 +0000 UTCUh no. There were several things hinting at the fact that while Azula was a pure machine of evil, she wasn't always that way. And that she was only that way because she was left victim to her father grooming her because she wanted attention. One parent wouldn't give much to her, other than criticism, so she went back to Ozai. That would've been a great redemption arc. I just think they might have done TOO good a job at making her a villain. So much so that no one sees her as redeemable.

2021-08-13 03:30:22 +0000 UTCIts kinda unnesscary and redundant I feel. If contined, woulda preffered making her a super complex villian, or literally anything else. We already saw the firelord child go from villain to redeemed. Had plenty of complications along the way too. We don't need another sibling to go through the exact same arc. It also then lessens Zuko character arc, if it happens multiple times.

Longer and far more complicated than Zuko’s. She had not bottomed out in the end of season three, she had further to go. At the deepest moment in her own abyss, she would have found: Zuko. “Despite it all, her brother Zuko would be there for her. Believing in her, sticking by her, doing his best to understand and help her hold her pain that she can no longer hold alone. Zuko – patient, forgiving, and unconditionally loving – all strengths he gained from Uncle Iroh. “That’s how she would have gotten out, and changed. With the faith and love of someone she had hurt, but who stuck by her anyway. Just as he had been saved by faith and love from someone he had hurt, who stuck by him. “And I always imagined that after coming out the other side, she would be one of those people who hilariously over-shares her own feelings all the time, and that she would be a bit over-apologetic. Like a Canadian version of Azula.”

Desna is a guy... 😂 I round it really interesting that you both immediately thought the Earth Queen would be Toph. I wonder if thats mostly because of the "spoiler" warning? I'm also assuming that whoever said that was referring to the previous episode. I see these subtitle spoiler warnings come up for pretty much every Reactor, and quite honestly, I don't think they're anything to worry about. I'm sure that there must be some set of subtitles that spoiled at some point, but I've gone and checked several different sets of subtitles (US Netflix, some torrent downloads, the DVDs) and they don't actually spoil where people think they do, at least in those. Honestly, I would just try to ignore people that warn about it in future, because IMO, just warning about them for specific episodes is a small spoiler in itself, and it changes your expectation even going into the episode. If anyone has any opinions (such as what people warned as spoilers for previous episodes, that we could discuss here), feel free to add.
