wow I'm so dumb. I didn't realize that since it's a full reaction that I could just pull up Netflix and play at the same time

Brandon

they record the footage while reacting to it, no need to sync really.. timestamps are all there.

ODIS

That's the way imo. Immerse yourself as much as possible, easiest is usually media without subs

SupremeCai

I have a question, I was wondering how you guys sync the reaction video with the actual footage?

Rowin

That's incredible! I hear about things like this all the time, but it astonishes me how good media is at teaching languages

Isaac

Shoutout to the Zhaofu guards for actually earning their pay, unlike 90% of nameless background soldiers in fiction.

Jacob

I think it was mentioned in TLA that the Avatar didn’t start their Avatar training until they were in their late teens/early 20s. With the idea that they wouldn’t start making decisions as the Avatar until they were into their 30s. The fire nation’s aggression saw a need to speed that up in Aang’s time and the threat of Zaheer saw them speed up the time for Korra. But it would be interesting to see what an adult avatar would be like.

Luis

it's the large consumption of media since i was a child... i don't have any memory of ever learning enlish, i just knew it..same with spanish, we watched a lot of telenovelas here and i can understand spanish pretty well still, studied russian in school for 8 years, never watched anything in russian, can't speak more than 5 words

I continue to be impressed by Lola’s English fluency. Being able to quickly recall the English idiom My way or the Highway in order to make a joke in good timing is quite masterful. I’m curious if either of both of you have done any studying of English in your schooling as well as the large consumption of English language media.

Luis

There is no point. The avatar has authority no one will ever have. And in a literal sense, the world needs the avatar. Raava keeps the balance that Wan permanently destroyed when he severed Raava from Vaatu. Normal people don't get to question that. Well they can question it, but they can't do what Korra can. Nor should they. Raava inherently understands balance. So while there may be consequences, if it were truly a wrong decision, Raava would most likely speak against it. I never said avatars never make bad decisions. In fact, I said Wan, the first Avatar, made a bad choice cutting spirits off from the physical world.

Lorenzo Baxter

Aang had major political disagreements with Roku in the comics which led to the creation of Republic City.

Olid

I disagree. As long as the avatar is human, and therefore has biases and can make questionable choices, it's appropriate to mix ideas of authority and power with that person's status and decision making. In a political world, the avatar is a political role. That would be true even if the person were chosen by the universe itself (which as of LoK isn't true--Raava chooses) or were an inherent part of the world (which was never the case--the lion turtle basically told Aang humanity predated the avatar). It's not the case that Korra, Aang, Roku, or any of their predecessors are objectively correct in their actions by virtue of their station, or that the people chosen were chosen because they will somehow always make the right choice. So I think it's fair to raise questions on the legitimacy of Korra's status/authority. There's no guarantee that the avatar's choice will be the best call anyone could have made. There's no guarantee an assembly of people wouldn't have done a better job.

Jacob

Also about the whole Avatar stuff, listen.... you can't mix politics about who has authority and power with someone like an Avatar. They were made by the universe. That's what gives the avatar authority to make decisions. Whether we like it or not it our fault. And for the immaturity, firstly, Korra is just about 18 at this point. Hardly a child, only by age number. Both Aang and Korra are very mature for their age. And also, all avatars have people in their lives to guide them, so it isn't just one person making decisions, they have perspective from all of their loved ones. It's not much to worry about. All choices have consequences so I'd rather have a spiritual warrior essentially sent by the universe, albeit a young one, making choices for the world than random schmuck like me or a politician with fake authority and an agenda.

Lorenzo Baxter

The avatar is definitely not evil. Raava is literally all the good in the universe. Yes Avatars are flawed. But thats because they are human. As for the portal stuff, Wan did what hw thought was right at the time, but it was in fact a bad choice. Because it didn't really help the world. It kinda swept the problem under the rug. But Wan felt it was necessary for his time. And now we have Korra, who reunited spirits and man. Everything works out

Lorenzo Baxter

Gdrive is working now. lol

Can El

Thanks and don't worry if you are having trouble uploading. We're not going anywhere, just take your time

Ok. Add a shortcut of the file/reaction to your google drive (top of screen when you click on the google drive reaction), go to your google drive and make a copy of the file/reaction (right click on it Make a Copy), download that copy. Has been like this/worked like this for years, welcome to Gdrive and Patreon, yes it can be annoying. But there's work arounds. *insert always has been meme*
