This episode is a perfect example of why it’s argued BCS is better than BrBa. It’s not because the writing is simply better, but the writing is accomplished with the handicap of the audience knowing how certain characters stories play out. So the job on this show is to write a suspenseful, compelling, intricate drama even tho you know overall where we end up. These writers wrote themselves into a corner with BrBa and responded with BCS by saying “challenge accepted”

People always try to understand Chuck’s actions towards his brother by analysing Jimmy’s character, while completely ignoring Chuck’s prospective of Jimmy! Chuck and Jimmy relationship is extremely complicated, but can be summarised from the opening scene. Jimmy’s personally charm and charisma made him quickly accepted everywhere he went, Chuck’s wife, Chuck’s father, etc. Deep down, Chuck felt that’s not fair! He was the one working hard, playing by the rules and making something of himself, so why did his irresponsible brother just get to coast through life and be happy? When Jimmy was being slipping Jimmy, you may see Chuck upset. However, on an unconscious level, he is thrilled. After all, the system works! His way is right! Jimmy’s casual, free-and-easy lifestyle worked in the short term, but look where it got him! And now he had to rely on his responsible and successful big brother to make everything all right. Chuck was much more comfortable with that dynamic. As long as Jimmy was in a controlled and subordinate position, Chuck felt all right, everything was okay with the world, but if he tried to rise up to be Chuck’s equal, that felt too much like the world reversing itself, and Jimmy becoming successful despite who he was.

I love this episode, we get a bunch of Kim (who's the best) and learn a lot about Chuck/Jimmy with the Hector reveal at the end, so good. I like how all this time Jimmy is tryin to impress Chuck and Chuck has actually been jealous of Jimmy's people skills. Their dynamic is so interesting.

Hector is boring. GUS comes and makes things crazy. LALO makes things WILD. This season is meh. Staarting season 3 episode like 5, the show picks up momentum and is much better to watch and enjoy.
