yess exactly lmao that's what i was saying, glad im not alone on this

the problem people put their entire worldview on their success and completely ignore luck and circumstance and then blame people for not succeeding.

T0ast

Jesus that's a good catch, I thought I'd gotten all of them.

That's what i was saying, that this does happen for people but it's not a blanket rule. There are other factors also which people don't consider or ignore. It's not only dependent on someone's ambition. I'm not one to generalize in that way. Also my point had little to do with the show, it was just the result of my own words sparking a tangent

Jimmy: The only way that this car is worth $500 is if there's a $300 Hooker sittin' it it You: This desk is only worth $7000 if there is $6000 in the drawer Don't know if that was on purpose but i still liked the callback :D

jSM

In reference to the cocobolo desk…”This is worth $7,000? Does it come with $6,000 in the drawer??” 🤣🤣🤣

I just realized that the realtor that sold Mike's daughter in law the house was the same one that got Marie arrested after she was stealing stuff from other people's homes. I didn't recognize her because she's lost some weight but it's definitely her!

There are a lot of people that have "pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps", my father being one of them. It's entirely dependent on the person, some people have the drive and ambition to push forward through adversity, some don't.

BNJ

Wow, I actually watched something in 240p. Amazing.

Can we download the video as long as it isn't available in 1080p?

"More."

I think Kim realized that accidentally calling Rich as 'Howard' reminds her there's a good chance that Schweikart will treat her the same way Howard does, even if not right away. The first time she makes a mistake there, she'll be sent to his version of "the cornfield" for doc review. Maybe she's tired of pretending to care about office politics. Hence, setting up a solo practice.

As for the sheep/wolf analogy, i feel like accepting and adopting that worldview is a mistake, because it's not true. You can also be the herder, the one who protects the sheep from wolves. Not naive and defenseless, but alert and aware of how people manipulate and using that knowledge to protect at least yourself (and others if you chose to). I’m just realizing that Kim fits into that mold, in my opinion. She grew up with nothing and had no prospects, but her survival instinct was choosing to focus on herself and her education/self-improvement to earn where she is now. She’s smart enough to protect herself from people trying to take advantage and also devotes her life to helping people through her work as a lawyer. Jimmy's survival instinct was to become the predator in this "eat or be eaten" world, and his brother’s resentment and disapproval of him only makes him want to rebel more. Kim is doing this for herself and Jimmy started out doing it for Chuck, so since his approval from Chuck has now been cemented as impossible to obtain, there's no internal drive (no conscious one at least) to do the right thing. If anything there's a push to not do the right thing because of the baggage from Chuck. However, now Jimmy has kind of transferred that need for approval onto Kim which is probably why he's sad at the end of the episode. In his eyes, despite their relationship and her willingness to compromise for the best solution (rationally), he takes it as her not fully accepting Jimmy as a lawyer. In reality she does accept him fully and vocalizes that, but she just doesn't want blowback from his antics, which is justified since it's happened before and he's not changing his methods. It’s just a trigger for him and he takes it personally, probably gets flashbacks of Chuck lol. Side note regarding what I said about Kim’s backstory: This isn’t me condoning and reinforcing the toxic and pervasive “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps” mentality in a general sense, because that’s often used to put down and dismiss those less fortunate as just lazy when in reality there’s tons of societal and systematic reasons that prevent many from excelling. I’m just saying in this certain case that’s what happened. Lmao just sounded like an insensitive self-report reading it back.

For some reason, the scene with Jimmy staring out at the inflatable just hits me. It's actually my favorite scene of the entire season. Not even the montage that follows. I just feel so connected to that moment
