2022-04-20 02:00:48 +0000 UTCi've said this many times, but let me be repetitive the may enjoy demon slayer because of the sibling bond but that show is predictable and repetitive in storylines no women represtation (not a must for a show to be good but still a pity) and of the few women that appear many are sexualized including the 14 year old kid the only good thing that would come out of them reacting to the show is more audience because it's popular, other than that i would prefer anything but ds, even if it's something i haven't watch

2022-04-20 01:07:53 +0000 UTChxh’s only problem is its length i agree. i’m just saying IF they add it to a poll bc they’re interested then i hope it’ll win over some of the generic anime that keep getting recommended. the thing is, i wouldn’t mind a long hxh journey since other shows they react to are shorter and can be replaced when they’re over. hxh explores more than the average shonen it terms of philosophy/themes, has characters they’re bound to get very attached to, and a story/world that really sticks with you. i understand why they wouldn’t want to commit to something on the longer side, but if they do then it’d 100% be worth it for them imo.

Totally underestimated and I genuinely felt their "preview" of it was quite misinterpreted the first time around. Either way, I'm all for anything that isn't anime myself

2022-04-19 23:59:41 +0000 UTCTL;DR --- Demon Slayer is a fun show, but I can't picture L + M having much to talk about in post-episode discussions. I love Demon Slayer, and I think L + M would enjoy it. That being said, I can understand why people might not think it's a reaction-worthy show (for this channel). Reaction channels generally fall into two categories... - Those who watch + react - Those who watch + react + analyze There are pros and cons to both styles. Reactors in the first group watch an episode, react while the episode is playing, and then they spend a brief amount of time chatting after the episode ends. Their closing remarks are usually pretty quick and generic, because the goal for them is to binge watch as much content as possible so they can provide the audience with more reactions in a shorter amount of time. Unfortunately, the more shows you watch at a time, the harder it is to remember everything. Some people get annoyed when the reactors are constantly forgetting plot points. Reactors in the second group watch an episode, react while the episode is playing, and then they talk about what they watched in great detail after the episode ends. They'll discuss the episode and the series as a whole, while analyzing the plot, characters, events, and themes. They'll make predictions about what's to come, usually based on things they noticed while watching. Sometimes, they'll point out similarities to other shows they've watched. When that happens, they might compare the shows. Unfortunately, due to the (sometimes super long) amount of time spent reflecting on a single episode, it can be harder to get more content out in a short amount of time. If I want to binge reaction videos, the first style might be better. However, if I want an in-depth analysis and post-episode discussion, the second style is better. Not every show is worth discussing in-depth; some shows don't offer much for a reactor to comment on. There's only so much you can say about a series like Dragon Ball Z, for example. It's hard to predict what happens next from an in-universe point of view (the outcome is predictable though), the continuity is a hot mess, character development isn't a huge focus (outside of a select few people), and there's not much to say about themes. That being said, I absolutely loved DBZ growing up, and it holds a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, I can't imagine L + M having much to say about a show like that. Demon Slayer is much better than DBZ (both in general and with regards to stuff they could talk about / analyze). However, it has similar issues for an in-depth reaction channel. Unlike with Attack on Titan, I don't see them creating detailed theories or predictions, because there's not much foreshadowing in Demon Slayer. Unlike with Death Note, I can't picture them looking at Demon Slayer through the lens of a real life scenario. Unlike with FMA, the themes in Demon Slayer, while touching, don't exactly offer long-winded discussions. I love Demon Slayer. The animation is breathtaking, the characters are wholesome and lovable (Tanjiro is best boy), the story is interesting, the soundtrack is awesome, and the fight scenes are pretty cool. Demon Slayer has a lot of great points, but at the end of the day, it's a battle shonen, and most of those don't have much to offer discussion-wise.

Take away DS's animation and it's just a throwaway story that no one would obsess over. They don't really care about impressive animation from what I've seen in AOT. They didn't get hyped or anything when Omniman destroyed a planet in briliantly animated way. They're not watching for that sorta stuff.

Haikyuu is still very well written, but they'd be happy crying for Haikyuu rather than the sad crying Vinland saga would cause lol

And it plays with morally grey concepts more than demon slayer does (and I like demon slayer I just don’t find reactions to it to be very interesting). DS has clear heroes and villains, clear messages that are put right in the face of the viewer with not a lot of ambiguity (yes the demons are oftentimes given backstories but it never makes the characters question anything about their mission), while HxH explores many different perspectives and challenges the main characters’ philosophies. This is not to say one is better than the other, but for me, HxH definitely generates more interesting discussions. As far as it being long that’s understandable but personally I don’t care if it takes them a long time to finish but that’s just me

These are high quality shows but again not mainstream.
