"It feels like a new season" Yeah, I noticed that too. Book 1 ended on episode 2x5 and book 2 ended on episode 3x6

Brian Dye

fixed :)

Sorry for the super minor and pedantic correction, but the slingshotter's name is Maneo. Mateo was Diogo's uncle from Season 1. Until this post, I don't think I realized how similar the names are lol.

Varun Laks

Just to clarify about Maneo and the ring, think of it like driving your car into a wall. You die because the car stops but your body keeps moving forward. Maneo got splattered because when his ship entered the ring his speed was reduced very very quickly.

Finally, Captain Camina Drummer & The Ghost Knife of Callisto!!

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

This is where the show ascends to a whole new level in my opinion, buckle your belt! You guys will love it more and more

When I met Ashford in this episode I take his intent at face value especially based on his coversation with Naomi. But I am very biased, usually focused in fiction on what the writers and directors dilibertly show us, if a character decives the audience and not just the characters around them then that will come when it does.

Can't wait for the next one , but I could really say that for every episode :) ... I think that one of the reasons why people united so quickly to save the show ( besides being amazing to being with ) is because it happened in the middle of one of the best TV seasons of any sci-fi show ever created . Personally Book 5 is my favorite , but man what they did with Season 3 is legendary . And yes like Tony already mentioned at this point viewers found out that show was saved , but when they were filming and doing post production they didn't know .

One of the reasons Belters tend to stand so close to each other when they talk is because they are used to communicating in space while wearing vac suits with no electronic comms devices so they would have to press their face shields together so they could transmit the sound through vibrations since sound won't travel through the vaccuum of space.

Dante

The fact that the belters have their own version of "Highway Star" and "All by Myself" is so hilarious

Season 3 is my favorite season honestly. Both part 1 and 2 are brilliant.

Haha, I totally forgot that this was the episode we see Miller again but immediately knew the reason to expect seeing him again!

Someone else will eventually point this out to you, so I guess it might as well be me. :) You said this feels like a new season. There's a good reason for that - it's a new book. This is a mid-season episode, yes, but it is adapting the material from the third Expanse novel for the first time. The last episode basically wrapped up the 2nd book story, so we're starting with a bunch of new stuff here. And there are actually quite a few new characters, as you've noticed, and while some of them will eventually disappear, a fair number of them will actually be with us for a while. As to whether the people making the show knew about the cancellation and/or the rescue at this point... well, they knew about it when this episode *aired*, but all of this was filmed and completely "in the can" before any of that SyFy/Amazon drama occurred. It is ironic, though, that SyFy canceled the show in the middle of Season 3, which many regard as one of the best seasons the show ever did. Finally, Commander Klaes Ashford (the older guy with the burnt face) is played by David Strathairn, whom you most likely do recognize from quite a few other things. Strathairn is one of the most prolific and, I would say, talented character actors of his generation, and we're lucky to have him on this show. You'll see.

This show should've been called "The Blue Thing", that's a better title than "The Expanse", don't you think?
