Remember the first time that Scar attempted to destroy Ed's arm before knowing that he have an automail. It didn't work

I mean, still full grown adults who aren't excused for y'know, genocide, but you could definitely see how propaganda would play a part in why they took part in the "war". Edit: .......hang on i just realized Scar probably has the smallest body count of the adult characters in this show......

2022-05-28 12:52:49 +0000 UTCConcerning the war, it appears to me that amestris seems to be under a system that might be the equivalent of some sort of military dictatorship since King Bradley is at the same time the head of the military and the sole leader of the country. Under these conditions it might be reasonable to assume that propaganda is a norm and that it might have played a role in the mindset of Roy and his fellow soldiers at the time of the civil war. Especially since they don’t appear to be currently very old (like in their thirties) so at they must’ve been pretty young when they were sent to exterminate the ishvalans. Furthermore, I don’t really think that as a soldier, refusing to obey orders was really an option since it most likely ended with your execution for insubordination or something like that. It’s only my interpretation until this point, but Roy wanting to become the new leader of the country might be motivated by his willingness to stop such bloodshed to happen again in the future by taking the place of the supreme leader (the angry and disgusted look Roy gave Bradley during a flashback in the earlier episode might indicate that he isn’t pleased at all with how Bradley handled the country’s affairs until this point). However it’s all speculations for now and I can’t wait for the show to delve deeper into this storyline !

You saw a young man (possibly Hohenheim), cut, and the mother (Trisha). And last episode it was in fact Pinako in the picture with Hohenheim. Also am I the only one who doesn't see why Roy and Riza just has to be in love? Can't it just be the same kind of relationship like Zoe and Mal in Firefly for example? Respect, loyalty, care, sure but why do they have to be in love?
