Wondeful reaction. Regarding the rest of the episodes, it's a continuous cliffanger from here to the end of the season. So wherever you cut, you will want more. Regarding the conversation Bobie overheard between Holden and Miller. it's a reference from the book. it goes like this: “Holden was starting to feel like they were all monkeys playing with a microwave. Push a button, a light comes on inside, so it’s a light. Push a different button and stick your hand inside, it burns you, so it’s a weapon. Learn to open and close the door, it’s a place to hide things. Never grasping what it actually did, and maybe not even having the framework necessary to figure it out. No monkey ever reheated a frozen burrito. So here the monkeys were, poking the shiny box and making guesses about what it did.”

Just an FYI, after watching your reactions to Exapnse, i believe that Last Kingdom and ESPECIALLY Black Sails, are shows that are right up your alley that you will love, mainly for their fantastic characters and writing.

2022-06-03 06:59:31 +0000 UTCMy interpretation of the Miller thing: the protomolecule has been pushing the right buttons in Holden's brain to make him see and hear something that looks and sounds like Miller. The protomolecule is doing all the talking and it clearly sounds different. It's also clearly using Holden to the point where Holden is complaining about free will and wondering if he's even in control anymore. It's coldly making Holden do things without explaining anything or telling him what the consequences are. I think at this point he was wondering if the protomolecule cared at all about how the consequences would affect him or anyone else he cares about or even understood the concept of caring about something. Real Miller did care about things and about people. He cared about Julie, and if the protomolecule is trying to look and sound like Miller but can't bring itself to understand and model Miller's emotion and love and care for other people, then maybe Holden cannot trust that whatever comes from him "completing the circuit" will not hurt the people he cares about. Once he saw that it was capable of creating an emotional Miller that cared about Julie, then he felt better about taking that risk.

No need to torture yourselves; rest assured, it'll make sense soon. BTW, Milena got it right: the protomolecule from Venus only created the ring itself. The "Ring Space" and the station at the center were pre-existing.

And it's been a few episodes, and you haven't acknowledged it, so I'm not sure if you gals have recognized Diogo. He's the kid you were referring to, the one who said that Ashford should be the captain.
