The Expanse 3x11 Reaction

I know you just didn't want to come across as rude, but you're not being nitpicky at all. There are billions of planetary systems in our galaxy alone and about a trillion galaxies in our universe. So there is quite a big difference between them. :D

Andrew

I think it's very intentional. In fact a lot of people reacted to Bobbie the way LM reacted to these Martian marines when she was first introduced, she was a lot like them, always looking for an excuse to fight. I think putting these marines in the same team as Bobbie really shows how much our girl has grown.

Just in case it's not understood to you in Serbia, Ojibwa is a tribe of indigenous people in North America. These tribes are referred to as First Nations, and the actor (Cara Gee) is a fierce supporter of their rights.

I don't want to sound like I'm defending them, because they're annoying little shits, but the two soldiers with Bobbie are not that different than how Bobbie was when we first met her. I don't know how intentional it is, but nearly every lower-rank Martian soldier in this show acts like a bully looking for an excuse to fight. It's the leaders (at least the non-corrupt ones) that are reasonable like Karino from the Hammurabi earlier this season or Bobbie's Lieutenant from the Scirocco in season 2, Sutton, or even going way back to season 1, Captain Yao from the Donnager. Now that Bobbie's seen some shit, she's changed for the better and sounds a lot more like them and less like her old self.

Okay, second try for this comment. Drummer's actor is Ojibwa, so her lines about remaining as themselves vs. assimilating has a lot of real life subtext. I love all the conversations between Ashford and Drummer because this stuff is complicated, there's no easy path.

Ethical non-monogamy FTW

In the last episode, Anna was telling the scientist that "maybe this purple glow is like a cyst that forms during an infection..." Or something like that. So, technically, the things she was saying were related to her knowledge as a nurse. She was just trying to equate biology to this extraterrestrial phenomenon.

@LM Reactions right? every time they're together on the screen i'm like "camina, if you think you're beeing subtle you're wrong" 😭 poor girl is down bad

sand_fl

we talked about the two of them in the next two episodes and honestly trying not to ship them just because i’m pretty confident they’re not gonna happen but camina’s making it really hard not to, girl’s in love 😁

LM Reactions

ksdhjak imagine someone who worked with lola in high school or in college watching this video of her saying "they gave me the most incompetent people" anyway, canima drummer supremacy and all also, ngl, while i like naomi and james i have to admit i kinda ship naomi and drummer... can't help it

sand_fl

Welcome to the era of Camina Drummer Supremacy

Great reaction. This is going to sound nitpicky (and maybe it is), so please forgive me if it comes across that way. You may want to consider the differences between solar systems, galaxies, and universes. What we know so far: we've entered the ring space from our solar system; the "doors" (as you called them) that Holden saw in his vision each appear to be focused on a star, hence are probably solar systems, too. Again, I'm being nitpicky. Sorry. Really looking forward to your reactions to the final two episodes of this season - they pretty much took my breath away.

As Scott Fellows explained, it was much better explained in the book how a character like Anna would do what she did. But even there i kept on wondering what you are right here. What the F* are you doing Anna? But it was just explained a bit better in the book, what with her being doped up at this point. But compared to this, the show changed Ashford's character (A LOT) and it definitely was for the better, as show Ashford is a very interesting character, whereas book Ashford is simply a douchebag. Oh and Clarissa's character is a much more well-rounded character in the book. You get a lot more of her inner workings, granted that the show has more time constraints. Anyway wonderful reaction as always girls.

😂 "Anna thinks she's the main character"

As amazing as season 3 is, its sad to me how we were robbed of moments like this in the show because of how they had to cram book 3 into so few episodes to get the show to a point where they would be comfortable leaving it if they couldnt find someone to save it. Still, this episode is probably tied as my favorite of the series with 5x7.

I'm completely with Lola with the Marvel topic at the beginning. I'm so oversaturated with their shows and movies that I don't even want to watch them anymore. After Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017), I just stopped and only watched Avengers Infinity War and Engame this year as well as the first two parts of the new Spider-Man because I wanted to watch the third part since I heard that the third part brings back the former Spider Man actors (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield).

Purely out of interest how come edited was up first? Seems backwards?

Yeah space flight being more accessible to the general population is a remarkably complicated problem - one assumes most people who fly in space (probably enforced by carriers/employers/military) would have at least some degree of space flight for dummies training. I suppose the complexity and length of that would depend on the relative safety of space flight - like when you use a passenger aircraft because it's mostly safe you don't need a lot of training but because even in the future space flight is vaguely dangerous still plus there are many outside threats one would presume the training is still fairly long (at least compared to an airline safety briefing of mere minutes) - but then once certified it's reusable. Also yes cruise ships are usually more complex in terms of safety instruction for passengers - though I guess that's partly because they have more time to give people that instruction, but also surviving a plane crash is kinda binary (and aircraft are generally simple to egress if one does survive) whereas with an accident at sea there's a long list of variables that will determine survivability and getting trapped in places etc, much like with space travel.

Martin Nicholls

As to how Anna knows how to float in space and use the equipment... Why wouldn't she? Every time we fly on a plane, they instruct us in basic safety procedures and equipment in case of an emergency. I am sure they do the same on cruise ships. The UN would not send out all of these civilians without basic safety training and spacewalk certifications. If an evacuation emergency occurred, the UN would have to do absolutely everything for the civilians if they weren't trained at least a little. Otherwise they would be a complete liability.

Scott Fellows

In the books, Tilly is a much older socialite and does not die when the speed limit changes. She administers aid to Anna by giving her a very high dose of painkillers. The result is that Anna, for a brief time feels like a superhero. She takes off in pursuit after Clarissa in a sort of blind doped up rage. Half way through her trip, the drugs start to wear off and she starts coming back to her senses. She begins to question her sanity as to why she, a reverend/nurse has any business going after a killer like Clarissa Mao. It is actually one of the funnier scenes in the book.
