@giana Have you seen Legal Eagle's breakdown of the Chicanery episode? The law codes that they bring up are real, and even the types of folders that are used are accurate to real life. I trust the writers wholeheartedly!

TeaDrinker3000

yeh i saw a comment left about the episode by someone from Chile saying it's a glaring writing error bc it's well known by people in that area that the coati is not a thing there. Then when i googled to confirm, it's one of the first things mentioned about the animal. My faith in the writers was then restored lol

gh

I'm here just to recomend you Arcane, girls

Krysto Santana

That's an insanely good catch

TeaDrinker3000

well the story isn't made up im saying the fact that it took place in chile is. plus one google search would've told the writers it isn't found in that country. of all the animals to chose for the story why else would the writers choose that one?

gh

I do think they did it on purpose to hide Gus' true origins. So Gus is not exactly from Chile, but grew up there later, then he goes to Mexico, then to the States. That is why Mike tells Gus in Breaking Bad that he doubts Hank is gonna find anything in Chile before that one date. But who knows.

David Caine

Or the writers made a slight mistake. The idea that Gus is making up a story to tell an unconscious Hector is pretty silly.

Shadoe Price

Fuckin' yikes.

Shadoe Price

By the way I truly like your casual and leisurely look during your reaction videos but a lot of the time, the blanket ruins the look :-/

JTII

I thought he was just saying coyote with an accent lol! TIL

Taya

it's pretty interesting that Gus is telling this story about the animal in Chile, but the coati is not found in that area. Chile is only country in south america that the coati has not yet been found. So i think this is the writers giving more hints to Gus's mysterious origins. Like how in BB they couldn't find record of him living in Chile before like 1986 or something. Clearly he must've grown up somewhere else and there's more story to that like why he'd lie about where he's truly from.

witz

I respect the digging that went into that. However, it's still speculation as to whether or not the final three episodes will take place _entirely_ in Gene's timeline, or if it will be a mix between the too. Still, I don't look up anything about behind the scenes for upcoming seasons of shows, I want to be surprised by the show itself, so I'll bid you adieu.

TeaDrinker3000

@shadoe Season 2 of Breaking Bad was entirely written in advance prior to anything being shot, I believe. It was the only season in BB to have done so.

TeaDrinker3000

@Taya I really wouldn't worry about those things at all. They did say that working on the scripts over zoom slowed them down but they also had over a full year from when the writers room opened for season 6 to when they began shooting. This is going to be the first season of either show where they had every episode outlined before shooting started, so the scripts have had way more time to be worked on then in past seasons. And Bob seems more animated than ever in the few interviews I've seen of him post heartattack so I don't see that inhibiting his performance. @Cloudy there has been zero confirmation about what you just posted. The season will possibly be split but everything else you said is just fan speculation.

Shadoe Price

@Cloudy has that Jimmy/Gene split been confirmed anywhere?

TeaDrinker3000

AFAIK, there hasn't been any official confirmation of 6A/6B from Sony/AMC or the showrunners so I'm stubbornly clinging on to the hope that it's not true, lol.

Taya

Also Taya for what it's worth I think that the opening to 4x07 is one of my favourite montages in the entire BB universe.

TeaDrinker3000

@Cloudy, same! These guys have a perfect track record, 112(?) excellent episodes, they knocked it out of the park with BB's final season, and I think Vince Gilligan (or one of the other writers/showrunners, can't remember) said that it will top BB's ending. And I've seen clips of some of the actors talking about s6 and they seem genuinely excited and pumped up, not just pretending to be excited because it's their job lol. The only thing that gives me slight pause is that the writing team said they had a really hard time collaborating over Zoom, and then there are the delays due to covid and Bob's heart attack... these things could potentially contribute to a dip in quality maybe? But hopefully not, I'm still very confident that s6 is gonna kick ass!

Taya

Damn they really don't hold back on world building

TeaDrinker3000

Another very tragic aspect to the story, Jimmy did genuinely love the old people he worked with. Sure he loved the attention and money too, but he would also never want to harm them. But I suppose him losing out on them is cosmic justice after his treatment of Irene.

TeaDrinker3000

I do believe Jimmy was genuinely sad about Mrs. Strauss and he kind of decided to face that death instead of facing Chucks which is a million times harder. I also think loosing elderly law because of what he did to Irene was a huge loss for Jimmy because it was a side of law that he genuinely liked doing to help people. Which is why the scene showed how he remembered that small fact of who that doll was going to for finishing college instead of thinking about how much money he could make off of selling it.

vmanisvnasty

Also, regarding your point on the comedic aspect; how great is it that the same show that will have us feel gut-wrenching sorrow for Mike's murdered son, Chuck's suicide, and Jimmy's never-ending emotional repression, will also give us a talking sex toilet, the crybaby squat, and basically every sequence of Jimmy smooth-talking his way through a ridiculous situation? BCS is unmatched.

TeaDrinker3000

Start video, Lola Claps, skip to just before reaction Lola clapping. Can only assume you clapped for 11minutes

Trent_88

I think you guys will agree that for as unbelievably great as the first seasons are, by the time we get to season 4 we're on the homerun of writing quality. Every single scene and episode plant seeds that bring future plot development. Just look at how Jimmy's reaction to Kim's move lead him to the Piñata scene, or how Mike's further venturing into working for Gus coincides with his guilt for taking his grief out in his daughter-in-law. I'm so glad I have this community to talk about BCS with, it's such a niche show despite being tied to what's regarded as the GOAT tv show.

TeaDrinker3000

5x9 is probably my #3 favorite. I've rewatched it so many times I'm pretty sure i have the dialogue memorized by now, lol. But honestly...every single episode from this point on to the end of season 5 is just top tier entertainment. An uninterrupted run of amazing episodes. They're all so good!!

Taya

i always liked gus, but that moment just revealed how evil he truly is, and from then i couldnt not hate him

Santos

Definitely, the next two episodes are incredibly fun. Most people love 5x8 and 5x9. Mine is the 4x10 finale. I could write a whole essay about that episode I love it so much.

I think Gus' monologue with Hector is the most truly Gus moment of either series.

Bryan Givens

One thing I never expected from BCS is just how tragic it would be. I was expecting it to be more comedic, I mean it's about Saul so it has to be funny and lighthearted, right? Wrong. Every episode finds a new way to make you sad. And even when you get a happy fun scene, it's still bittersweet because you know it won't last, terrible things are gonna happen to these characters sooner or later. Btw the next two episodes are actually my top 2 favorites. I doubt they're at the top of most people's lists, but ... I don't know, there's just something about them that gets to me. Marks the moment where I went from "hey this show is really good" to "Okay I'm fucking obsessed with this show" lol.

Taya

Also the bouncer in El Camino.

Yeah it sucks because in some ways they really do have a healthy relationship: there's a lot of mutual respect, they give each other space and independence, they encourage & support each other, there's no unnecessary drama, and Kim in particular is incredibly loyal and protective of Jimmy. Yet... they both lie to each other. Open and honest communication is severely lacking in their relationship and that's sad!!

Taya

I think that guy at the end with Huell might've been that big guy that was with Mike and the man Mike beat up when we met Pryce for the first time. He ran away when he saw what Mike could do. I could be wrong though.

TeaDrinker3000

I want LOST. It'll probably never happen (plus maybe they've seen it already) but a girl can dream!

Taya

It just made me laugh how Gus gave that whole monologue about how he dedicated his life's mission to kill Hector, and he STILL didn't manage to in the end. He got robbed of even the satisfaction of revenge.

"I like it. I'm good at it." Where have we heard that before? "I liked it. I was good at it." edit: nevermind I just watched the whole video and it was already brought up, haha

Taya

Seconded, Arcane is amazing even if you don't play League

Suhhh Dude

Patricia’s my favorite character

BNJ

I only now noticed that Kim kind of lied to Jimmy: "[...]he offered me a job". She probably did not want to hurt him more than necessary, but that still sucks.

Nikodem

that story from Gus was so chilling and intense. A perfect representation of what hes doing to Hector and how much focus he would put when his mind is set on it.

Danny

I know they sometimes watch trending shows outside of the channel as I'm pretty sure they watched Squid Game on their own. If they haven't seen Arcane though, they would absolutely adore it. Maybe after Attack on Titan since The Expanse is replacing BCS

Dante

Listen I’m just some dude but I really think you guys should watch Arcane after this series. It’s really good. This show is a banger too.
