my ass, season 1-3 are masterpieces

Jonny

My friends just recommending the show and made a bet that if I didn't like the show they'd buy me a 6 pack beer In all fairness seasons 1 and 2 i was so bored I had to buy myself a 6 pack to keep it mildly enjoyable. Season 3 first half was mediocre. End of season 3 it started picking up interest. Season 4 was good Season 5 was amazing every episode was solid. Season 6 gonna phenomenal hopefully with what went down Season 5 finale

akiro somp

S3 is my favorite season.

Ryan Roach

Why would you sit through three entire seasons of trash? If you don't like a show, just stop watching.

Taya

BCS in a nutshell Seasons 1-3 : Trash, Season 4: Good, Season 5: Amazing

akiro somp

Haha, I meant the contrived plot point 😂 but I guess I'll find out soon enough

Taya

Haha, perhaps I was too vague 😂 With 5x09, I'm referring to a certain conversation and a certain person who deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for how goddamn good their acting is 😃

TeaDrinker3000

Hmmm I can't think of what you're referring to. But I guess we can talk about it when we get there. I've seen various criticisms of season 5 and I can kinda see where they're coming from, but... I disagree lol. You might like S5 more on a rewatch.

Taya

I wasn't so hot on the first half of season 5, but I only watched it once. There's just one plot point that I felt was quite contrived (I won't mention which one), but if that's the only bad moment out of a total of 120+ episodes of two tv series, then I can day that the writing is for all intents and purposes perfect. That being said, 5x08 and 5x10 are some of the best the series has to offer. As for 5x09, well, we all know what I'm talking about THERE don't we 😏

TeaDrinker3000

@BDJ, I apologize for yesterday, I shouldn't have said anything! sorry

Taya

Coming to this late, I have no deep analysis to make this time, just wanna say I loved the reaction! Definitely one of the highest quality and most pivotal episodes of BCS. I think it's perfect from beginning to end. And I knew Lola was gonna cry, lol! Oh man, I am so excited for you guys to watch season 5! I absolutely love BCS seasons 1-4 but season 5 ... it just hits different. It's my favorite by far.

Taya

Yes! I was looking forward to this one since the very beginning. What a beautifully crafted episode from beginning to end ... Especially the karaoke scene with that music always tears me up.

Adam

When talking to Kristy Jimmy says “you don’t matter all that much to them”, which is word for word the last thing Chuck said to him. He also mentioned saving someone from a fire twice in the season, talking about a judge in this episode and Huell a few back. I also love that he calls the lady at the end “sweetheart” it’s such a sleazy Saul-ish way for him to speak.

Suhhh Dude

Perfection. Love how it gives clarity as to what Jimmy's feeling, his insecurities and how he's choosing to deal with them. Jimmy got home after crying in his car and said "What's the point?... I'm always gonna be that guy". I think Kim missed her best opportunity here to have Jimmy open up to her, but she didn't realize how down he was in that moment or was too focused on prepping for the hearing.

Troy

Lalo had blood on his face, so he probably killed Fred, you can see the blood when he's checking the PC.

Mati D.

So Milena is disgusted by seeing people brush their teeth and chewing gum...interesting 😂

BNJ

Tapping on the glass of a fish tank. Nice.

Dante

Which one? They're ALL good man!

Taya

BNJ

I fell for it hook line and sinker on my first watch 😅 but then again I'm not quite as sharp as L and M

TeaDrinker3000

Good catch

TeaDrinker3000

Hell yeah my dude same

TeaDrinker3000

Ugh, that's such an obvious catch that I can't believe I didn't think of it 😅 my God I think Mike may have had the most tragic story in the entirety of the Breaking Bad universe, he's had to experience so much misery.

TeaDrinker3000

There's a YouTube comment I read before which said something to the effect that whilst Gus uses fear and ruthlessness to control his enemies, Lalo's approach is more akin to tapping on the glass of a fish tank. He doesn't want to demonstrate control, he wants to demonstrate his enemies' *lack* of control. This episode reveals a hint of this tactic, but season 5 is where Lalo truly shines as one of the best villains in the Breaking Bad universe. Whilst Lalo shares similarities with Gus, Tuco and Hector, he's the only one out of the four that appears genuinely entertained by violent confrontation. Someone like that is unpredictable in a way never before seen in either series. What a testament to the great writing Lalo is.

TeaDrinker3000

We don't like Lalo because he's a nice guy, let's just leave it at that 😂

BNJ

Werner’s last scene with Mike brings me to tears every time I watch it. I also want to point out how the way he tries to talk Mike out of it and requests to speak directly to Gus mirrors how Walt tries to convince Gus to not kill him & Jesse at the beginning of season 4 or how Walt tries to bargain for Hank’s life in Ozymandias. Werner is the smartest guy in the room (being an engineer) but he’s too stupid to see that they already made up their mind.

Julian San

I can't wait to for S5 and for that ep, I know exactly how L&M are gonna react.

Dammy Oshikoya

Lalo is definitely the smartest and most calculative of the Salamancas. The way he acts and moves is simply different from Tuco or Hector. He smiles all the time making him seem nice and friendly

Danny

its cool they cut to Gale right after the scene where Mike kills Werner because Gale is kind of the Werner of breaking bad. They were both extremely intelligent and talented in their respective fields, just really passionate about the work. However, they were also super naive about the true danger of the business they were entering into. And both were killed on orders from above out of supposed "necessity" but also with reluctance by the person pulling the trigger. It was the thing that really broke Jesse, and now Mike.

Wow, what an amazing episode. It's easily top 5 in the entire ABQverse. So many things happened that I had to write a list of my favorite moments, such as: 1. "S'all good, man!" 👉👉 2. The opening karaoke. One of the few truly happy memories Jimmy had with his brother. 3. Jimmy's court monologue. 4. Jimmy's speech to Kristy Esposito, the shoplifting student. 5. "................Michael.................is that you? 😏" 6. Mike macgyver-ing himself out of the Lalo situation. 7. Werner's death in front of that GORGEOUS backdrop of New Mexico. 8. Mike-Gus stare off in the end. A look between the mob boss and his underling. Reminded me of Mike and Al Neri in The Godfather 2.

I could write entire paragraphes to describe how much I love this episode, everything is perfect, from the introduction flashback to the final scene where Jimmy first decision after been reintegrated as a lawyer is to practice under another name after his speech about « be worthy of the name McGill ». It’s amazing how even after all the time you spent with Jimmy, you still want to believe that his speech about Chuck is sincere, that’s phenomenal writing.

Pkiu

Jimmy - "that one asshole was crying" Kim's face - (I was crying)

This episode is, in my opinion, on the same level as Breaking Bad 4x13 Face Off but with an entirely different tone. That final shot with Jimmy saying "S'all good, man" to Kim feels like the moment this entire show has been building towards and it was executed to perfection. I get chills every time Jimmy says it no matter how many times I watch the episode. This entire episode is a masterpiece. Saul Goodman has officially arrived.

Dante

's all good man!!
