It didn't take 6 years to make it. It took six years to get it green lit, write the story, find actors who were willing to voice a video game show, and then finally start artwork and animation. It took more like 3-4 years to make the meat and potatoes of the show, and with the backing and support the community is providing, season 2 will probably take 2-3 years to make.

And frequently common fantasy/sci-fi novel and games that definition is interchangeable between stone-like objects and magical symbols. You can even see Ryze holding a rune in his basic splash art in the game, so I don't know why ur getting so worked up about false information.
