Thing is, if you're not familiar with the game you don't actually know that Vi is supposed to be a main character. For all they know she could be just part of Jinx's backstory in the first act. Almost every reactor I've seen thinks it's Vi, some realize it's not sooner than others but it's still a big source of confusion for most.
