I take it the full reaction never went up

Attack on Titan final season part 2 will be replacing Arcane

Dante

Great reaction ladies! The next episode is just WOW, and I can't wait to see your reaction to it!

Alex Hart

This is such a fun episode

Hitopopamus

Yes I agree she was scared, but just like Jimmy is really good at thinking quick on his feet and talking his way out of risky situations even when he's scared shitless, she was doing the same thing. Kim doesn't really lose control like that. Having a huge emotional meltdown at work is not something she would allow herself to do, unless she thought there was a logical and beneficial reason to do so. She couldn't just let Rich walk away after making that accusation, she had to act immediately and confront it head on.

Taya

@Mossy Froot That's a good point that I didn't consider.

TeaDrinker3000

@Shadoe Price That's totally fair, we'll discuss it later!

TeaDrinker3000

I don't think that it's contrived at all but I also think that it's hard to get a grasp on Mike's psyche without talking about scenes from future episodes so I'll save it for then.

Shadoe Price

I actually took this as Gus hinting to Mike that he knows what happened between him and the 2 cops who killed his son. Why else would he think that Mike understands revenge? He may not have facts or evidence on Mike, but he's not dumb, and it wouldn't have been hard for him to research Mike's background. But I don't know if Gus meant it as a threat, or just a non-judgmental fact to make Mike understand that he's no different than Gus or the Salamancas. So Mike calling out Gus for being no different than the Salamancas is hypocritical. They are what they are.

Kase West

mike was always motivated by revenge, not family, and gus doesn't bullshit him about that like he does with walt. once mike had gus's attention, he could have easily worked on gus's legitimate side of business as he demonstrated as a security consultant, but he keeps taking risks to kick hector in the balls bc of the good samaritan he killed. and now, he's in the exact same mental space as when he lost matty - he feels guilty over the death of someone he cared about, he pushes his family away, turns to alcohol, and leaves his job. the only way he got out of that hole last time was revenge, and gus knows this

Froot

Off topic but once you guys finish Arcane it would be cool if you reacted to Midnight Mass, if you haven't seen it. I know Expanse is after BCS.

Suhhh Dude

I agree, I felt like the reasoning for Mike to accept working for Gus was weak as well.

Suhhh Dude

I personally think it was emotional, I think she was feeling afraid that she was getting caught, she's never gotten caught before.

Suhhh Dude

I was wishing for Bill Burr the first time, but Steven Ogg is literally a class act, for those that don't know - he is Trevor from Grand Theft Auto! Simon from Walking Dead

Dustywood

They talk about it on the BCS podcast, it's here at around 7 minutes in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4MuC4ERMYw FYI, they're interviewing Giancarlo, Peter Gould, and a couple other of the writers so they have some really interesting insight on the characters.

BNJ

This is the one episode of BCS that, in my opinion, has a contrived storyline. I really just don't buy Mike deciding to work for Gus again because of a short speech on how he and Gus are similar. As the girls mentioned, Mike could've taken this opportunity to focus on his family, or at the very least continue with nefarious work ventures that aren't as high profile as the drug business. If anyone see's more subtext/context to the situation than me please say so, because as it stands I've always just viewed this plotline with Mike as a convenient way of getting him to succumb to a life of crime in a way that doesn't feel earned.

TeaDrinker3000

Exactly. It was the type of 'plausible deniability' tactic that Jimmy himself would imploy. Slippin' Kimmy is coming further and further out of her shell!

TeaDrinker3000

Mike building a charger only to be presented with a fully working one was a perfect troll to the audience who had to watch 4 seasons worth of schemes & plans and not have a clue what was happening.

Julian San

Also... I wouldn't discount Kim's agency. Yes, Jimmy suggested going further as an option, but it's not like he forced her. As she's said several times throughout the show, she's an adult, she makes her own decisions that she alone is responsible for. And did you see the look on her face during that scene? She wasn't worried or hesitant or concerned about her job security. She was excited, thrilled... and knowing Kim, probably horny too, lol.

Taya

Burr said that he had someone close to him that was dying at the time so he had to cancel. But yeah I'd assume that they'll have him in season 6, they had him moderate the 10th anniversary Breaking Bad panel and the season 4 BCS panel at comic con so they obviously love having him around.

Shadoe Price

Little fun fact, since you are also watching Arcane right now. The guy who plays Gus' doctor is also the guy who voices Vander in Arcane.

Marc Brune

Kim losing her shit on Rich was not an emotional reaction. It was calculated. After Rich got up and left her office, Kim sat there processing for a couple seconds before getting up and taking action. Causing a scene in front of everyone was done on purpose. She made their private conversation public and put the spotlight on Rich, daring him to make accusations against her in front of all their colleagues. And by yelling and flipping out on him, her 'innocence' seems a lot more convincing.

Taya

Exactly, this is also why I love the writing of the scene between Gus and Mike. Notice how Mike uses the word "different" instead of "better" and Gus affirms it. He is definitely *different* from the Salamancas but in no way is he *better* than them. They're all evil people and Gus knows this.

Dante

I would have to imagine they did everything in their power to get him for season 6. Here's to hoping!

Dante

Yeah, Gus was selling meth to Eladio for a reason. He's no better than any of the Salamancas, no matter how much he likes to think.

I AM NOT CRAZY! I know he swapped those numbers. I know it was 1130. 85 before Magna Carta, as if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. NEVER! I just couldn’t prove it. He covered his tracks, he got that idiot at the house to lie for him. You think this is somethi-you think this is bad? THIS? THIS CHICANERY? He’s done worse! He orchestrated it. JIMMY!

yeah I think he was filming The Mandalorian so he wasn't available.

BNJ

Everyone had the same Bill Burr guess as you guys did. It was supposed to be Bill Burr this episode but he was busy so they got Steven Ogg to come back instead. He was in Season 1 episode 9 Pimento and had very different facial hair then lol

Dante

I don't think it was Max's death that turned Gus into the person he is, I think he was always that person. He wasn't some nice guy that turned evil, we don't know much about his life but we know he has a very shady past in Chile and from what is hinted during BB and BCS he may have been a General in Pinochet's army and may have committed some horrible atrocities. I think what happened with Max made him focus on nothing but revenge, but it didn't make him "evil", he was always that.

BNJ

It's phenomenal. So excited for them to start it.

Dante

Looking forward to The Expanse. I've never watched it either but I hear it's really good, I'll probably start watching it soon to get ready for your reactions!
