Better Call Saul 5x07 Full Reaction

Comments

Just to summarize the above, Kim isn't some straight set character with one direction in mind, she is a wild card of a character, and she has some incredibly amazing angles that she can go down with the way the characters have written her story. If there's any character that could possibly dupe the audience on this show, it would be Kim - this is an A class character and I would strongly recommend not to fall into the illusion that she's a straight shooter - because she's a wild card.

Dustywood

@Shadoe Price, I have to disagree, that's what makes this show beautiful. How often do we get a TV show like this where fans can battle theories with each other? It's so rare these days, it's what makes these shows fun when there's so many different pathways available for the characters to go down - mainly responding in your commentary that these theories are "garbage" - perhaps the wrong word to use? However in terms of suggesting it's conspiracy thinking etc, if that's what you're taking away from these types of conversations then perhaps you're the one overthinking things - let people have their fun. If this theory isn't one for you, then that's up to you right? My thinking of Kim comes down to "Why isn't she in Breaking Bad?" - I have a few theories, one that she is the one in control of Saul's money laundering in the background, or she's a con artist that double played Jimmy, or three she gets killed by Lalo and Mike finds her body (the Mike part I won't bother explaining as it's some deep far fetching themes). However, please don't try and blame theories as being "garbage" when they're not disproven or proven yet, just enjoy that there's a crowd of people speculating on things, because this is the type of Show that has enough subtle detail to allow such breakdowns Edit: You're wrong about the license part, rewatch the scene again, she takes a paper out of her pocket, and then she takes out her wallet and grabs her ID - rewatch instead of accusing the theory of being garbage whilst not watching the scene correctly

Dustywood

I love Ological but that video and theory are garbage and I wish people would stop sharing it. You can clearly see in what you've timestamped that she just takes the forms off of the clipboard and then looks over them like every single person does after filling things out. Then she gets out her drivers license. That's it. I don't want to get heavily into spoilers so I won't talk about the rest of the video (and I also assume that it's gonna get talked about once they see the finale) but it's honestly Room 237 level of tinfoil hat conspiracies and completely undermines every emotional beat in season 5 for what is imo a exceptionally dumb twist. It's fanfiction territory and if that ended being what they do in season 6 the series would be jumping the shark.

Shadoe Price

I'll watch it again here when I get a chance. But as far as the judge's comment goes... I don't know. It could mean something or it could mean nothing. I've always felt like the writers just threw it in there for fun, because it's easy bait for fans like us who obsess over every detail lol. I could be wrong.

Taya

@Taya It's definitely a huge reach, in terms of "not everything in this show has to mean something", these writers are absolutely genius, every shot and scene has some sort of deep meaning we've learned. Especially when it comes to the characters colour arks, red for underworld and blue for the world of Law etc (every scene is a Blue verses Red picture). However, I would ask, what piece of paper did she pull out of her pocket? Why did she remove a piece of paper off that board and then replace it with the one inside of her pocket while Jimmy wasn't looking? The Judge then following up with the Middle name point, there is something intentional behind these shots

Dustywood

@Dustywood, IMO that's a huge reach lol. Even with the breakdown, it still just looks like she's doing paperwork. Not everything in the show has to mean something. Perhaps Rhea was given directions to look busy doing paperwork in the background, and she inadvertently made it look suspicious (not to me, but to some people). Oological makes some good videos but I HIGHLY disagree with the theory he posits in this video. But we can debate about that later, lol!

Taya

Here's hoping Mr. Robot fills that slot

Dustywood

@BDJ - Here have a look at this, I timestamped it for you (please note there is a spoiler warning here, incase you haven't completed the season, those that haven't please don't click the link - those that have - go hard) - https://youtu.be/XKav4qRPjBk?t=815 Watch Kim in the background here (this is a breakdown of the marriage scenes)

Dustywood

@BDJ Check again, that was not her ID she brought out from her jacket, it was a piece of paper - in fact if you watch the shot again you'll see that she keeps looking at Jimmy as she's doing it, she takes the piece of paper out that they're working on and swaps it out, the Judge then identifies strangely that she has no middle name.

Dustywood

There must have been some circumstantial evidence they found but I'm sure it was the witness that was able to tie everything together. Also, IMO, that $7 million dollar cash bail was basically just a litmus test to see if Mr. De Guzman is a drug lord.

BNJ

I didn't notice anything like that. She was taking out her ID from her purse but that's it.

BNJ

Did you guys notice that Kim swapped out her marriage paper while Huel was offering to steal Saul a ring? She took a piece of paper out of her pocket in the background and swapped the one on the board, and then after - the Judge points out she has no middle name. I suspect that Kim has another alias that she's keeping a secret

Dustywood

@Daniel I wouldn't say that the writers purposely made it not obvious, they literally have him dunking a fry into dipping sauce like the nuggets in BrBa. But he was a very minor character in one scene and it's totally reasonable to not make the connection when you've only seen BrBa once, especially if you're bad with faces which L&M have stated repeatedly. I would've been shocked if they had caught it.

Shadoe Price

I mean, the police probably found evidence linking Lalo to the crime after arresting him (like fingerprints or the gun he owns or something). It's just that they wouldn't have found that evidence if the lady hadn't been coached by Mike, because they wouldn't have arrested/ suspected him in the first place. I got the vibe from that scene that everyone in the courtroom knows this guy did it, it's just a matter of whether the hard evidence is admissible.

a. tree

judges are skitchy sometimes

Jonny

Are you serious? Who cares about this guy?

MaxVSTheGames

The writers purposely make it so its not massively obvious. They're not the only ones to not notice and they havent rewatched BB multiple times like a lot of us. That dude is on screen in BB for like 5 minutes out of the whole series. Relax

Daniel

Well thanks for reacting to my overreaction!

Julian San

A bit of an overreaction don't you think?

Hitopopamus

AoT is the bread and butter for like every reaction channel it does not get put on the backburner lol

Pulp

There;s no evidence that Lalo did this other than the "eyewitness" who the prosecution has admitted was tampered with. It makes no sense that there would be any bail, they should just let Lalo go.

I’m so very disappointed and let down by the ladies not having a clue that that was Peter Schuler, who appeared in Breaking Bad and despite (basically) having only one scene, made it oh so memorable. Although to be fair, I’m more disappointed in my myself for not letting them know ahead of time, since they did make that request from the very beginning to clue them in on returning characters. I stupidly thought by this point in the show, there weren’t any more characters left to return lol

Julian San

ima assume they gonna finish arcane and then fit AOT in. Since its only coming out once a week they will catch up fast (arcane only got like a couple episodes left anyway) by 2 per week and once they catch up they can just watch it with release

Danny

also Gus mentioned Santiago, which means he met Peter when he was probably part of the chile military. Germany and Chile have some history.

Ooohhh finally a moment for me to step in and shed some light on an issue. When bond is set for a person in jail, they can either pay the bond themselves, or they can utilize a “bail bondsmen”. A bondsman is a person who takes 5-10% of the bond in payment, and posts the other 90-95% themselves. Bondsmen typically insure this cash by signing collateral from the inmate (think property like a house or vehicle). Bondsmen do have legal authority to arrest you if you don’t go to court. I’m this situation, I doubt any bondsmen would take Lalos bond, due to its size, the severity of the crime, and the potential flight risk he poses.

brandon morse

Peter (the guy in the hotel talking to Gus) was head of Madrigal (Parent company which funded Los Pollos Hermanos). He was in BB where he killed himself in the bathroom with a defibrillator when the DEA was honing in on him

Eddie

Curious how they'll handle AoT. Monday night release? Do they move Death Note?

Camzeee

Atleast AoT will fill the void that BCS will leave for a bit

Pulp

Thanks <3.
