Schedual update

hii, about the schedule for this week... everything is pushed back a day and then we'll have a new schedule cause we're finishing better call saul

Comments

You should watch Midnight Mass. Its from the same creator as The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manner.

Julian Welton

it's almost like there's a correlation between a show's ratings and its quality. I never implied your opinion is wrong so I'm not sure why you're hung up on that. I can not like a show but still acknowledge its quality. whereas you are dealing low blows to a show (calling its comparison to BB/BCS insulting) because it seems you have some personal vendetta against it. just like you commented your annoyance below at how much it has been suggested. you can have an opinion on something without unreasonably disparaging it.

justjasper

After AoT,and it's a close one) But Vinland saga is great too.

Денис Куличенко

Demon Slayer, hands down the best Anime at the moment

Steven Cavanagh

I would suggest you to watch Fleabag or Killing Eve

Anna Biryukova

I would sugest you to watch Mr Robot for shows/ for anime it's vinland saga or hunter x hunter

Oskar Li

It is a far lesser show in my opinion. We're dealing in opinions here on the quality of the show and its writing, not ratings. We're obviously not going to agree here so let's just leave it. I know my opinion is not shared by many, but it's my opinion so you can't say it's wrong the same way I can't say you're wrong for liking it.

Camzeee

in what world is that insulting? I'm comparing Mr. Robot to Better Call Saul, not the other way around... There's a difference. You make it seem like Mr. Robot is a far lesser show when in reality the ratings difference is rather negligible. You may not like the show but discrediting its quality for personal reasons is unreasonable.

justjasper

I don't know if someone already suggested it but consider reacting to Code Geass, it's very similar to death note and a masterpiece too. Another anime with great plot and some realism is Monster, not very famous but the story is really intriguing .

Hugo

Some anime recommendations : Golden Time, Angel Beats, Food Wars, "Steins;Gate" ,Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop (anime version because the live action netflix adaptation sucks), Dororo, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (also called Oregairu), Yakusoku no Neverland, Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo, Mirai Nikki , Elfen Lied, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

refo44

I cant suggest The Last Kingdom enough

Benjen

I actually think a show/anime you guys would really love would be 86 Eighty-Six. Also, your reactions of course would be as great and charming as ever.

Caryl Hector

The Expanse, Mr Robot, Black Sails. Imagine a world. 🌎

Isaac

@Camzeee We'll never stop 😈 The Mr Robot hype train must continue forever The thing with Mad Men is it's 7 seasons long and it has a lot of elements to it that can be an instant-nope for some people, ie. set in the 60s, the constant sexism and racism displayed by the characters. If someone isn't on board for those then as good as the writing is, the show is pretty much a no-go for them

tom

If a more "grounded" show, in live action instead of animation, is needed for balance reasons (I'm guessing that's what you're getting at), my go to recommendation is You're the Worst.

Jacob

Demon Slayer would be my choice to watch next

Joshua Brown

I think Mr. Robot is highly overrated personally. Saying the writing is on the same level as BB and BCS is insulting imo. But yeah it's hard to follow that up. Vince Gilligan is a genius.

Camzeee

I have Succession, Atlanta, Fleabag and Barry on my list of shows to watch. Barry could be one for LM reactions from what I've heard but probably doesn't have much mass appeal.

Camzeee

To add to others’ comments, I think it also has to do with the show having aired on USA Network as opposed to the big dogs such as HBO or AMC, etc. But what USA was able to give Sam Esmail (the creator) was full control of the show and his vision. To see out the series how he originally and always envisioned it ending when he initially had written the script as a feature film. Expanding it into a television series was the best choice and it is evident how he took advantage of that.

justjasper

Well that was last year and a lot can change. People compare its writing and overall quality to that of BCS and BB so maybe that would steer them towards it more. After those two shows there’s not much else that rivals them when it comes to drama and keeps the same level of quality throughout all seasons.

justjasper

Tom I think you're right sadly, they haven't marketed Mr. Robot the best, most people that haven't watched it think it's a show about Robots for example and it disinterests them - they really need to market Mr. Robot better so people can give it a legitimate chance

Dustywood

@Cloudy I have heard nothing but positive stuff from the Sopranos, it sounds like it's a show for the times that is a must watch. I'll give it a watch my man, I've been out of content for a while now, but definitely going to give that show a watch next.

Dustywood

It really should be Mr. Robot, IMO. Everything that makes BB/BCS great is matched, but with a different tone. But if not that, how about Rectify? It's a great drama made for the Sundance Channel about a man released from prison after 20 years for a murder he may or may not have committed.

Boydanovich

I feel like I need to watch the Sopranos, it was before my time (I'm 28) but I was quite young during the series. You reckon it's worth giving it a watch these days @Cloudy or has that ship sailed?

Dustywood

Apologises if you have taken my enthusiasm for Mr. Robot as spam, I thought this was a good discussion thread overall. In terms of another show, that's a tough one, I myself I'm super picky with my series, there isn't another show I've recently watched that's on the same level as BCS as Mr. Robot - I'm fiending out for show suggestions myself. I'm with you though, I want character driven, character development based shows, I like slow pace, I'm not a fan of super heroes, anime, or Sci-Fi. Damn there's a big lack of shows that can sit on the same level as BCS and BB. There's shows I love that aren't the best for community discussions (e.g I love Person of Interest) but always felt like these are more solo watch type of shows. What have you recently watched?

Dustywood

We get it... You like Mr. Robot lol I would like something live action and not fantasy/sci-fi too. It's tough to find a show L+M would want to react to that they haven't seen yet. To stop you from spamming Mr. Robot everywhere, what else would be a good show to react to that isn't Mr. Robot? I'm thinking I could be down to watch The Last Kingdom or Mad Men. Something character driven, critically acclaimed.

Camzeee

On a side note, I think it's important to have at least one active show that's based in a world of realism, rather than Sci-Fi or Anime, just one at the minimum. Better Call Saul fills that void, but once it ends we'll need another realism show. That's why I'm crossing my fingers for Mr. Robot over the Expanse, the realism aspect is important

Dustywood

@Fro oh, though I'm pretty sure they're going to do the expanse and maybe full metal alchemist next

sand_fl

@Ouroboros lol, makes sense I guess

sand_fl

Something to replace BCS

Froziac

I would really want Sons Of Anarchy

jSM

People got bored waiting for Arcane.

Did I miss something, why are so many comments suggesting new shows? Just curious

sand_fl

Waiting for Arcane for sure 💚

عبدالله الغامدي

That is unfortunate.

Dustywood

Jumping hard on the Mr. Robot train. I would love to get these girls' take on the show. It's very good and quite complex. It would be much more challenging to analyze than 99% of shows and that's why we need the best (aka LM) on it.

Michael M

Think about Demon Slayer! :)

DD7

Just going to jump on the train of Mr. Robot recommendations. They'd 100% love it

Dante

Think about Mr. Robot, clever and full of suspense.

Pablo

Invincible has my vote as the next show to watch after La Casa De Papal/Arcane.

Camzeee

When you get the chance, I'd HIGHLY recommend INVINCIBLE on prime video, as it has an incredible story and great action for a anime style show. Love the content and look forward to seeing your reactions to the end of BTC!

Theoski

As great as Derry Girls is, because it's such a light show they should have that to themselves, as a break from all the trauma that they muat deal with on a regular basis. That being said, I'm Irish, so seeing them react to Irish expressions and mannerisms would literally give me life.

TeaDrinker3000

if i heared right and next show will be expanse, im so excited for your reactions

Martin Fabry

I don't blame them not feeling into it but I definitely think they would be surprised by how much they like it if they watched it. In my opinion the posters and such for Mr Robot aren't that great, it's hard to market a show that has such a unique tone

tom

we want more arcane please, its only 1 season :(

Dato Mushkudiani

Mr. Robot certainly was great. I know they said that they weren't that interested into it, but I liked it a lot and would definitely enjoy rewatching it with LM reactions.

MaxVSTheGames

That’s show is definitely a good recommendation it’s a great show.

Melkor

Oh they would definitely love it the characters are so damn good.

Melkor

Here are L+M's thoughts on Mr. Robot. https://youtu.be/0Cd02-3n9XY?t=684 Wouldn't get your hopes up.

Camzeee

Great show

Melkor

INVINCIBLE! The comics are amazing! just one season so far

Chris V

Beautifully summarized.

Dustywood

Loving the support for Mr. Robot, didn't realize there was so many of us in this community

Dustywood

I totally agree, the writing of Mr. Robot is genuinely on the same level as Better call Saul, there's not many shows out there that are so beautifully written that takes you on a real ride than Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, and Mr. Robot. It's a must of a show to watch, wish it was more well known.

Dustywood

I can also recommend Mr. Robot. If you are going to have a free slot.

Adam

This! ^

Adam

Not sure if you guys take all these recommendations into consideration but I’m going to have to give a +1 to Mr. Robot. It’s up there with shows like Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. The writing is absolutely stellar and the seasons get better as you go. Seasons are around 10 episodes each so it’s very tight-knit and well thought out. Evidently more quality over quantity. The characters are diverse and every episode has its moments. I think you guys would get really attached and connected to all the characters. I should also mention the music selection is perfect. Most shows just add music for the sake of it but the songs used in this show really elevate it. It has a proper soundtrack score done by Mac Quayle as well which is also amazing.

pumpkinpie

YES! I suggested The Last Kingdom on their YT. ITS SO GOOD. I think its much better than Vikings. Beautiful show

Benjen

Consider reacting to The Last Kingdom, it's similar to Vikings and a very excellent show. It's on Netflix.

Dan

Hannibal gets my support. So I can finally get myself to finish season 3. This sin would then also fall off me.

Robert H.

Seasons 2 through 4 were the highlight of the show for me. Season 5 I actually liked a lot too, but had the feeling in some scenes that the director didn't quite hit what he was trying to hit. Season 6 is gigantic so far. I'm having a lot of fun here. The only thing that bothers me is that they won't be adapting books 7 through 9.

Robert H.

I used to like Stein's Gate a lot, but recently rewatched it and have to say that it suffers greatly from being in a kind of ecchi genre. The story would be many times better if 50% of the interactions between characters didn't reference femine gender of some characters. And since they already have problems with Death Note dealing with females (completely understandable to me, I have there too), I don't think Steins Gate would appeal to them. Demon Slayer, FMAB on the other hand would be very typical of their usual shows. And with Code Geass, the main question is ultimately how well they do with the mecha genre. I, for example, don't really like it at all, but with Code Geass it didn't bother me at all, because it fits with Attack on Titan in terms of theme and Death Note in terms of characters. I rather still have shows like Erased, Rainbow Nisha, Monster, Parasyte, Ranking of Kings, Vinland Saga or Haikyu in my mind that might like them. Great Pretender would also be a theoretical recommendation for them, though I felt like the last arc the characters kind of didn't react like themselves anymore. My favorite One Outs unfortunately only got one season, although the story would theoretically go on, but would also be something they could have fun with.

Robert H.

@Merfhew Definitely watch it. You absolutely don't need to have played it before. I'm a huge Stein's Gate fan and I've never played it myself.

MaxVSTheGames

I agree. The only episode I truly want to see them react is Episode 19. The rest is okay, but not really reaction-worthy compared to so many other shows.

MaxVSTheGames

Understandable!

Emori

Mine too Mahni that’s the one I voted for.

Ken Drummer

My all time favorite. Seasons 1-3 are masterpieces in my mind. Season 4 not so much but it's still pretty decent.

Gorostas

I like that your channel hasn't turned into an anime one. Since a schedule change and shows wrapping up might come with thinking about new shows in the future, I'd like to humbly try to sell -- For the future, not necessarily anytime soon and of course you get recommendations all the time, so this doesn't need to happen and is just me giving more of an idea about... -- Mr Robot It has 4 seasons and the episodes are usually in between 40 minutes and an hour. Because of that it would probably need to be once a week. Its personal characterization, evocative tone and grander themes that tie into modern topics are my favorite aspects of it, as well as its inspired cinematography and editing that it uses to really flesh out and embody those previous aspects mentioned. It uses the premise of hacking/computer technology to explore mental illness and society which it has a ton to speak on, basically the human condition externally and internally. But like I said, it only uses hacking to talk about those things, it's not *about* hacking, it's sort of like how Arcane is a development from League of Legends but you don't need to know anything about the game to enjoy/understand it. It's one of those shows with a really killer pilot, so if you ever do something I've seen reactors do before where they sort of sample a bunch of pilots and do one-off reactions to test the waters I think you'll know instantly if you're into it or not. But if you ever do come around to the idea of watching it and decide to take that leap of faith I also think you'll be happy with your decision after you see the first episode. It's also better if you don't know any specifics, so I'd really try to stay away from descriptions of the plot and characters

tom

Seriously HxH is what they both need to fill the void that Avatar has left in their hearts

Kc

Fargo is amazing they'd definitely love it

Euphemia Isobel

They actually mentioned they saw Dark already and wish they reacted to it

Euphemia Isobel

I wouldn't assume it, they haven't said anything about Mr Robot so it would make no sense for them to commit to a long show with four seasons and hour-long episodes just because people talked about it a couple weeks ago. Also apparently they're doing The Expanse first.

tom

Since you like the Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul vibe........I would check out Fargo.

BobJ

I've always wanted to get into Steins Gate, but it was originally a visual novel. I've heard mixed opinions on whether I should wait until after playing the game to watch it.

Merfhew

That being said, I'm of the opinion that not every show needs to be reacted to immediately. I hope they watch Demon Slayer someday (even if it's not as a reaction), but I don't think they need to rush into it.

Merfhew

It might be simplistic, but I find the characters to be very endearing. I haven't read the manga either, but I've enjoyed the anime.

Merfhew

Let's be nice everyone.

Merfhew

omg yeah i definitely want them to experience some light heart show after all the show they going through at the moment

Phú Hưng Quách

We can only hope, friend.

Dustywood

I think you guys would love Dark, thats my recomendation

David Nieto

yeah that can get confusing but if they're doing FMAB first they'll be eased into it. also Lola watched Naruto so at least one of em has experience with shonen

Mahni Alizadeh

If they actually react to Mr. Robot I will cry, probably one of my favorite shows

Sebastian

If you want to relax and watch something chill, I would recommend Shera. I think you'll love it

Kate Liaskovska

Yeah that show is a visual treat

Shadoe Price

Thanks for the update! SIAP can you post an update on patreon when the new AoT videos hit YT? I didn't notice that 4x17 had been on YT until I watched DN20 earlier.

Odiodin

I think they would too

Carlos Hurtado

You two would adore Hannibal

Michael Beveraggi

Oh dear I think Steins gate would be an awesome anime to react, such an emotional journey

ajoenpolvo

imagine if these two reacted to "Classroom Assassination" the joy they would have! we need comedy and love in the mix

ReactorHero

Since people are recommending shonen anime, please consider Mob Psycho 100. It is well written and about something much more relatable than becoming the strongest.

This is probably a long shot since you guys have already watched the other two seasons, but I would love to see reactions to Derry Girls s3 when it comes out.

Jacob

You guys are doing The Expanse next right? You're going to love this show. However, IMO first season is kind of weak but stick around because it gets better each season. By the end of S2 you'll probably think this show is amazing. And then it just keeps getting better. S5 and S6 are out of this world good. Just some of the best stories ever told.

Yic17

Would love to hear them talk about the cast's morals but would hate to have them need to talk about a shonen power system (even though Nen is the best of them).

i know this isnt happening any time soon but hunter x hunter is my favorite anime of all time so i just want to keep it on your radar the next time there is a poll or something. BIG baby boy energy btw

Mahni Alizadeh

Yeah! Death Note, Code Geass and Stein's Gate are three must-watch for most reaction channels.

MaxVSTheGames

Mr. Robot lessgo

Dustywood

I bet they'll get a lot of requests for Steins Gate too

TeaDrinker3000

Yeah, FullMetal is next after Death Note. I suspect Demon Slayers will be next after FMA:B, but I really hope they consider watching Code Geass at some point. It's a classic in the vein of Death Note and has so many good moments to react to! Funny moments, dramatic moments, revelations and everything! Such a great anime.

MaxVSTheGames

Why even reply @PM?

Jonathon Elkins

Oh yeah I forgot about the poll 😭 well, FMAB is also a great show but KNY is blowing my mind right now !! I’m sure they’ll enjoy it !! Maybe later 🙂

MishkaTho

I would fricking love if they reacted to that show.

Melkor

They're doing The Expanse after Better Call Saul, and then Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood after Death Note.

TeaDrinker3000

I hope you do Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, that is an anime I think you'll def like. Has the same vibe/tone as Attack on Titan

Dammy Oshikoya

Vinland Saga plis

Alexis

evidently

PM

How about starting ‘Demon Slayer’ after that ?! Haha 😉☺️

MishkaTho

I would follow u two ladies into battle

Ellis hayes

Arcane tomorrow right?

Jonathon Elkins

Waiting for Arcane 🙏
