What I also noticed is that, the advice Mike gave Jimmy is influenced by what his daughter in law said at the group therapy in Season 4. She was telling a story about getting ready for the day and how, at some point, she realized she hasn't thought about Matty all morning.

Kim giving up Mesa Verde makes what happened with Chuck even more unnecessary than it already was, and I wonder if there's a part of Jimmy deep down that realizes that and fuels some of his panic over her quitting. He could always justify some of it because he was helping Kim's career but now that justification is gone.

In Breaking Bad, when the cousins wanted to kill Walt and Mike said that Gus should tell Walt in order to keep Walt in line, Gus said that fear is not a good motivator. Even though in the episode he feels the opposite way. So something happened between now and then that changed his mind.

Gus did indeed say in Breaking Bad when Walt quit cooking and the Twins were after him that "I don't believe fear to be an effective motivator" to Mike when he suggested that Gus should threaten Walt to cook meth again.
