Notably, in the manga it's made clear that Light doesn't want to kill Sayu because he genuinely cares about her (shocking, I know), and Ryuk even amusedly makes note of this. Odd that they omitted that from the anime, Light's love for his sister is like one of his only redeeming traits lmao

I think an explanation of why Light didn't think of that is because he's a bit rusty after years of not needing to compete with L. And also he was panicking because the plan went sideways when the plane's course went offtrack (which he didn't have any plan B for I guess). You talk about him slipping and becoming desperate and he's been doing that a lot recently. "doormat" lol

That show is a top tier must-see, especially if they liked Death Note, but the women in it are even more sexualized.... At least they are important to the plot and they have personalities, unlike Misa.

2022-02-12 02:49:38 +0000 UTCI definitely respect this opinion and had the same thought myself at various points throughout the show. But I do think it's interesting to consider her from a mental health perspective. Like, she's clearly not just /any/ doting girlfriend - she's deeply mentally sick.

2022-02-12 00:43:55 +0000 UTCJesus Christ, Misa might just be one of the worst characters I've seen in a tv show relative to the high standard of the show itself. When she was initially introduced I actively gave her the benefit of the doubt, but she genuinely gets worse with each episode. As much as I love this series, the poorly aged misogyny is a real blight on its quality. Everything the girls said in this reaction regarding Misa was spot on; there was just so much wasted potential for a character who ended up being nothing more than a doormat for the male protagonist.

They never give you a reason to. except I suspect to people who are attracted to ‘power’ and his intelligence. And the simple fact that he is the main character and therefore the audience surrogate. But he isn’t. If you don’t like Eren you still had every reason to sympathise with him at the end of the first episode of AOT. Light never has that. He only reveals how shallow he is as more time goes on.
