Basically it ended quickly because D&D were lazy and wanted to do other projects, they rushed the ending, and no one wants to work with them b/c they botched it so bad and people realized the only reason the first few seasons were good was because George RR Martin was personally working on them.

If I dislike certain details, so be it. All I want is an ending that fits naturally into the rest of the narrative and doesn't disrespect every single character in the show.

2022-02-15 05:46:41 +0000 UTCIn regards to to the GOT horrible ending. AOT doesn’t have a bad ending…from an objective standpoint. It’s an ending that many hated and disliked at first, but over the months most have grown to love. Having watched GOT and gone through that disappointment, I can PROMISE you the ending isn’t that bad. I personally think the ending is perfect. It’s certainly controversial, but when you look back, there’s really no other ending for AoT. Once the anime is over I’d recommend going on YouTube and looking up “this video will change how you see Eren.” It’s a long watch, but a worthwhile one. If you dislike the ending, that video will help you appreciate and understand it. To explain it better, the GOT ending didn’t make sense from a narrative standpoint and didn’t deliver on storylines hinted at for years. AoT makes perfect sense, and ties all storylines up in a nice bow, some people just didn’t like the bow’s color. Hope that makes sense!

Anyone else should stop reading now if they don't want to get spoiled on how important Gabbi is.... ..... but her character arc is mostly over - you can argue that her character arc is important for what isayama is trying to say, but as far as what's COMMING UP she's not very important at all. The stuff people are complaining about with the ending doesn't have anything to do with Gabbi, lol. I mean, Azumabito Sama is more important the Gabbi, lmao.

But if Gabi truly turns out to be the most important character after Eren/Zeke/Reiner, then Isayama must've fucked up big time with characters like Armin and Mikasa. Putting Gabi's character aside for a moment, I'm terrified to see AoT's ending. Plenty of people seem to hate it like I hated the conclusion to Game of Thrones. I can't endure another disappointment on that level. After witnessing the brilliance of the past few episodes, it's hard to imagine what Isayama could've done to ruin the ending. Hopefully, it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

2022-02-14 22:51:52 +0000 UTCMaybe there are a couple of subtleties distinguishing her character arc from the points that have already been made, but it's undeniable that the main function of Gabi is to hammer home concepts like moral ambiguity and the devastating effects of childhood indoctrination. We spend 22 episodes revisiting many of the same character changes we witnessed in people like Reiner and Eren. I'm not saying Gabi's story is useless for the overall narrative. Her character is used to explore the consequences of Marly's propaganda machine, she's giving Reiner a reason to fight on, and her POV during the attack on Liberio is doing an excellent job conveying the level of destruction and loss of human life to the viewer. It's just that in comparison to many other characters, her overall contribution to the plot development isn't nearly as significant.

She's probably the most important character in the entire series after Eren/Zeke/Reiner and understanding her character is absolutely key to understanding Attack On Titan as a whole. She's there for more reasons than just explaining the moral ambiguity.

Mikasa being Ereh and the scarf, Jean being confused all the time, and Connie is all about his mom and missing Sasha. Many people said the same thing about Eren in season 3, when the story was mostly about the Reiss family, Erwin, Bertholdt and Armin, and Eren was just crying and whining all the time, and basically just a titan weapon. Look at him now! He is the antagonist of the year by Crunchyroll! You should be aware by now that AOT is all about cliffhangers, plot twists and mindfucks. Isayama made Armin, along with Eren and Mikasa, the main characters of the show, and it;s not out of the blue. I'm hung on what Eren said in season 3 "The one who will save the world, is Armin".

She is also meant to display to us what Eren could have become had it not been for Eren’s circumstances. And this is particularly important because we see Eren coming to the same realisation that Gabi has arrived at. As you so observed. This is meant to display that while Gabi and Eren are similar in many respects, Eren’s context is just a bit more complicated. Or in simpler terms, he is more chained than even Gabi that he has to carry this on. That’s the subtle point being made.

I don't hate Gabi, I just don't find her character super compelling compared to everything else that's going on. The message behind her character arc is wonderful but almost all the characters in the AoT universe and I as a viewer already understand the moral ambiguity behind this conflict. The character dynamic between Reiner and Eren conveyed the same idea in a very impactful manner 17 episodes ago: "Reiner, we're the same". Whenever Eren and Zeke are on screen, the plot moves forward, by recontextualizing events and characters to a point where my understanding of this show changes drastically. When we switch to Gabi it feels like the plot is stagnating a bit and I'm looking at my watch thinking: "I know where this plot is going. Been there, done that. Let's move on to other characters please." Again, I certainly don't hate her with a burning passion. It's just that her arc isn't particularly captivating when the narrative theme behind it has already been explored with characters like Eren, Reiner, Berthold, Zeke, Armin, and so many more.

The world is about to crumples but he only cares about making peace with Reiner, Pieck, and Annie who was once responsible for destroying the wall killing hundreds of their friend.

They even brought back Barricades the song from S2 when they are fighting titans. Feels like a classic episode of AoT after that amazing arc started with S419.
