You are correct. There are likely several that were not, as the war was seven years ago, but the only ones that we see (That I can recall) that was not involved in the war were Shou Tucker (He only got certified two years ago) and Ed. The majority of the State alchemists active at this time were used as weapons in the Ishvalan Civil war.

2022-04-12 19:31:14 +0000 UTCI could be wrong, but just from what we've seen, it seems like there's a decent chance most of the state alchemists are of an age that they would have been part of the war/slaughter against Ishval. Ed is the only one that for sure wouldn't have been there, on account of obviously being too young. Maybe future episodes will clarify.

2022-04-10 02:27:08 +0000 UTCMy favorite thing about you two is how you always ask the right questions, and don't realize how impressive it is that you word the question in the exact way it should be worded. It's one thing to make a prediction that is somewhat accurate without any context or clues. It's on an entirely different level when the predictions and questions hone in on the biggest and most rewarding aspects of the show. I have seen y'all do it so many times that it doesn't matter that you often jump to a wrong conclusion as well. You understand storytelling and characters in a way that it doesn't matter how much a new show throws at you, you always manage to understand the point of the show.

I'm SO excited every time I see one of your Fullmetal videos up--watching people discover the genius of FMAB is so satisfying. <3 Genuinely cannot wait for more!

2022-04-09 00:25:29 +0000 UTCI think people say the beginning is weaker because it's banking on you either having seen the first anime or having read the manga. The first anime gave the first part a bit more time to breathe with a couple stand alone adventures (It is a bit tonally inconsistent. There's a very silly episode about how Hawkeye got her dog. It's the best) I adore Ścieżka. She's so good. I also like that the adults (Armstrong, Maria, and Denny) do kind of treat Ed and Al like the teens that they are and try to support and guide them. It's something that's missing in a lot of shows where the protagonists are teenagers. Characters have lots of reasons for doing what they do. Except Gluttony. I think he just wants to eat. I don't really think he's evil. He lacks the capacity.
