The Expanse 6x06 Reaction

I watched by myself thinking it was an awesome. When I watched it with you guys you made me fall in love with the characters of this show You put your whole hearts into this show for us. I love how you explain your feelings about all the Characters. You both are Beautifully Awesome

Randy F

Thank you both for watching this!!! I love this show so much and I don't know how to let it go. It was a blast watching it with yall from start to finish.

Daxeah

Thank you for reacting to this. You guys are my favorite reactors, always so observant and genuinely interested in the shows you choose to react to. May I suggest The Good Place as a new series? You don't usually do comedy shows but this has a good mix of funny and real and I think you guys would love it.

Matt Peterson

Finally was able to get around to watching this reaction, and it certainly did not dissapoint! This was as good of a finale to your reactions as this episode was for the show lol. You guys were probably the most observant reactors in regards to this show that I've seen, and I feel that was in full effect here. I think you guys are the only reactors I've seen pick up on the fact that the last thing Marco saw was that Filip had left him. The ending of Book 6, and thus Season 6, gives us a massive status quo change for the political dynamic this series has had sinxe Episode 1. So I genuinely do think it's an appropriate place to leave the story for now, and give the audience time to let that change sink in. Hopefully we'll all be able to do this again a few years down the line if/ when adaptations for the final trilogy gets announced.

This was fun!

Great job on a great show. I came specifically for the Expanse so I'll be leaving - most modern tv and movies are lame - you guys are great and thank you for the experience. And ya it's a decent stopping place as book 6 does end a story arc.

Thanks for the ride. Loved watching your reactions to one of my favorite shows/book series ever. My favorite small detail in this episode: When Marco realizes something is happening and yells to veer off, he looks where Filip sits. The last thing he sees is that his son is not at his post. One of his last thoughts was likely wondering where his son is, perhaps even realizing he is truly alone in his death. At least, I like to think that is his last thoughts. Naomi being the one to pull the trigger, believing she is killing her son is heartbreaking. And by all accounts (as of season end) she does not know he was off the ship, and believes she killed her son to save them all. Jim pulling one over on Chrisjen is probably my favorite plot point of the season for sure. Love him sticking up for the Belt, and putting his money where his mouth is with trust, even if it means being a bit shady. haha.

Great reactions girls. You did a fantastic job. With wonderful insights and opinions. These were probably among my 2 favorite Expanse reactions. Thanks for the ride. Moving forward hopefully, after the Boys, you get into the Last Kingdom or Black Sails.

A great reaction, as usual, to end the series. It’s always enjoyable to watch reactors discover The Expanse…and to rewatch it with them through their eyes. I want to thank you for sharing your journey through the show with us. I have watched several reactors to the series, most of whom have been really good, but you two have been the best. You have caught several nuances of the show which most folks miss (including me) on the first viewing. Your discussions of the show have been insightful. You might like to know the Daniel Abraham (one-half of James S.A. Corey) has commented that in the first episode of the series, Holden turned down a job out of immaturity. In the final episode, he turned down a job out of maturity. Like you, I will miss the show (and hope it will continue at some point in the future). However, I will also miss watching you two. Best wishes for the future. With warm regards. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful reaction series - watching along with you two felt like I was watching the series again for the first time. Couldn't have asked for a more wonderful gift :D

I just knew from the day I stumbled on your AoT reactions that some day you would find your way to this show and love it. I thought I might have to wait years, but here we are. Thank you for being you. I enjoyed every minute of the pre-show discussions, the post-show discussions, and the full-length reactions. Now here's all the reasons why I think the return of this show is inevitable despite no official announcements so far. This is all guessing on my part, but it makes sense to me. They clearly wrote this last season like they want it to blend in with the part of the story that comes later. The Laconia plot is the most obvious part of that, but they've had characters say other things as well that will hit differently when we see what comes next. I think the Clarissa 5-year thing might indicate that they might shrink the time jump from 30 years to something smaller. I think there's several reasons why we haven't heard anything yet. Firstly, Canada was fairly strict on Covid protocols, so filming seasons 5 and 6 were pretty tough on everyone. A lot of the smaller roles on the show were played by Canadians, but most of the main cast is not, and some important members of the crew as well, so they were subject to quarantine and other restrictions. Plus it just costs more to make shows now, since there's a lot of extra work that goes into keeping people safe. I think they wanted to wait until things calmed down before trying to bring everyone back and start writing and filming again. Secondly, I think there's a lot of restructuring needed with the story from the last three books to make this work. The most glaring thing is that Alex is still alive in the books, and a lot of fairly important plot points run through him, so they have to adjust the story somehow or write in some other characters to do those things. They also have to figure out how to adapt some of the more sci-fi parts of the story on to the screen, since stuff gets kinda crazy. Thirdly, I think waiting gives time for more people to find the show and books and build up a bigger fanbase. Some shows get more popular after they "end", especially now that it's easy to binge on demand. Marketing for The Expanse has always been pretty terrible, and not everyone who starts the show makes it to episode 4 where things really kick off. Fourthly, the authors are kinda busy, and they're very involved in writing the show. They have other books (not in this universe) they had planned to write and some projects they wanted to do separate from each other. The biggest reason why I think there is more to come is because the best part of the story (to me at least) hasn't been told yet. I've listened to the audiobooks over and over again, and book 8 is my favorite. Book 9 is a close second for me. Book 7 is a great start to this story arc. Things may feel settled right now, but it's not complete yet. The last 3 books do a really good job of completing it. Whether it's 5 or 10 or 15 years from now, I believe someday we'll all meet back here again to start the next phase of this story, because it's just too good to let it sit there without adapting it.

Wow an hour outro! I am writing this while I am listening. there were a lot of call backs in this episode (for instance Amos becoming a North star for Clarissa (whom he was prepared to shoot in Season 3!)) When Clarissa jumps out to fix the reactor during the big battle, she gets thrown all over and cracks her helmet just as she did when she fought Naomi in S3! But then Naomi and Clarissa come face to face because Naomi is so worried about her! Did you notice that the names of all the strike teams were names from other Sci Fi shows and movies?! Starbuck (BSG), Ripley (Alien) Akbar (SW movies!) etc Duncan Idaho (Dune) It was such a wonderful nod to all the Science fiction that came before! On the Station, Bobbie shoots the gun reactor with the torpedoes in her back pack just as she did in the training exercise when we first met her! All the crates flowing into the ring space (very cool idea!) one of them was Mao-Kwikowski with Mao scratched out!!. After all the discussion about who would kill Marco it ends up being Naomi who presses the button (so incredibly brave!!) Then Naomi gives the most important statement of the whole series: " It doesn't matter if you ever know. You just have to try." So know that Filip got off the Pella, but Naomi does not know. Unclear if she ever will. Lastly I don't personally know why they included Strange Dogs as a tale at the beginning of every episode (although the show runner does say that it was important to let the audience know that the Protomolecule story had not ended and things are truly happening of momentous possibility on the Laconian planet.). We can only find out if they finish the series!! Let us pray they do this!!

DrEEsky

Terrible day for rain.

Pulp

I'm gonna really miss these characters. The ensemble of ppl who I couldn't choose between cuz I loved them all. Just like sense 8. You consider Sandman on netflix

PamRenea

Sad that it is finally coming to an end here too. It was awesome to see you two get so invested into this marvel of a sci-fi show.

Phil Rademacher

Yeah, that is another good choice. I would also be more than happy for more Stargate, though that takes several years to finish 😂

Phil Rademacher

Anybody else here wants them to watch Firefly? God I love that show too. They said they lack sci-fi shows. I think it'd be right up their alley.

ODIS

Hvala jos jednom za predivnih 9 meseci . It was hell of a ride 😀

Sone

9 months later, finally 🙏 what's next on the block?!

SupremeCai

#SavetheExpanseAgain We need the last 2-3 seasons!

Martin Sætran

When Marco tells Filip, that when he dies, he will lose a part of himself, is very telling. He only cares for Filip because he is an extension of himself.

MadameMoon!

Great reaction! Sad to see this end. This was a fun ride !

Louis Melendez

thanks for all the reactions girls, i have really truly looked forward to these reactions every time you upload over these last few months. it’s been a great pleasure to relive the expanse through your eyes.

galexc

Three cheers for Martian power armor. Peaches learned how to fix things in the middle of the fight. Marco Inaros finally got his comeuppance. This episode gave me everything I wanted and then some.

Gillian Rosheuvel

Truly a joy of a show to watch you react. At every point it shows how much you "get" this show and its intentions. Your theories were mostly on point throughout, as were your own response to the events and characters. And hey, it's time to start the audio books, 1-6, which I can't recommend enough. You will enjoy them.

Aldo Cassola

So glad you guys chose this series. Thanks for all the reactions & the discussions. Enjoyed this ride with you guys very much. 🤗
